I do think there are some valid complaints that can be made against GCN, but what they attempted here with GCN+ is absolutely admirable and I really will miss their coverage. I know they say it will just be restructured into the Discovery family but something tells me it wont be the same.
Man, I've been caught up with other stuff in the off season. I'm so disappointed. I watched over 200 races on GCN+ from the states. I'm actually really upset. I have no idea how I'm going to watch races next year. What a bummer. Thanks for posting this.
I stopped by a trek dealer they literally had no bike under 2k WTF! i worked in the industrie for 30 years and i can't believe the current business model is not sustainable. The sweet spot i believe between 700-1200 for introducing folks to cycling.
it really is crazy, those prices do exist out there still but they are get way way WAY harder to find and they're almost completely non existent in stores.
Agree 100% on this as well. Shops forget that not everyone wants to race their bike. When I was working in bike shops I always tried to explain things to newer cyclists so they didn’t buy things that they weren’t ready for. And I also ensured I wasn’t an arrogant ****ole like I see at more than some shops. Lots of them have what I call the “Roadie Attitude”. If you have been to a road race you know what I’m talking about.
Yes, a real pity about GCN. Here in Thailand this past spring I added Eurosport to my cable, and saw all the big races, medium races and even a bunch of the the very small races...All Live. The GCN commentary was excellent, so much better than what I got when living in America. It was a dream come true, ride the bike in the morning, come back to my house, take a nap, turn on Eurosport and watch pro bike races in the evening (we are 7 hours ahead of Euro time.....perfect. Now I don't know what will be happening when race season begins again. I may have to ask my friend in Antwerp if I can sublet a room in his house for the spring .
In Canada we only have Flosports. $200 a year to watch pro races. It’s painfully bad and expensive. I was waiting patiently for GCN+ to get the TDF rights for Canada. Sadly, that will never happen.
Kinda sad to see GCN go, even though my demographic is bicycle touring and not racing. They have so much good content. I like the intro. Need a collab with It'sAGundam next for the rock music gundam crossover only I seem to be hoping for. :)
Just for the record Mr Dobbs, I'm in the UK and paying for Discovery now is a big money move (to subscribe) soo thank you #TimeWarner or whatever you're FKG called thank you very fucking much!
"more streaming in less places" is just nonsense. There is no succession plan or migration path except that people in the EU can watch Eurosport. If Time Warner / Discovery+ had a plan, they'd say, "sign up here for the low price of $$$ and keep watching cycling plus all our great content consolidated in one place for a great price" or some marketing mumbojumbo. And GCN+ was really pushing forward women's cycling. Probably outside of EU, coverage will go back to only mens grand tours
yup, pretty much par for the course for Warner it seems like. Absolutely nonsensical decisions that they claim help the customer and objectively are worse for everyone by far.
I hate that big corporate try to shape what we need. GCN was my go to to learn how to ride as an older cyclist, prep for endurance, fix stuff.

So sad to hear that. I loved the staff, and the contents were very informative. I think that’s the mistake because more people are cycling.

Agree 100% with you on FloSports. Such shit. Hardly any races available in the States.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Max. Really good and lots of good coverage.

Don't worry, my wife and I are working on a Gundam channel lol

The had one of the Great Hardmen Sean Kelly as a guest. Good news keeps coming.
I wonder if Doddy heard about it or saw the writing on the wall.
And decided to get out early.

Hi just started watching your channel. I think people doing any sport there is a big divide no matter what sport.
I'd watch the shit out of Batman vs Godzilla
“Batman does battle with Godzilla.” That’s it, that’s all I need to know, I’m in.
I’m sure some people like GCN but for me who rides a Hybrid, most of their content is irrelevant.
Couldn't agree more.
