ATTENTION!!! I am an idiot, and I need to correct something I said. The Zwift hub offers 24 virtual gears, not 12 or 13. I will be cutting in an update to the video as well as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding and for watching!

Gundam models, playstation 2 collection, gameboy color, nintendo cartridges, playstation 1 games, and bicycles. I see you are a man of culture.
I'm about to put my trainer up in my room. Similar vibes. I like this trainer. Not for the price of a "budget" bicycle though.

@@dobbscycleworks Oh that sounds great. I had the transparent purple GBC, but like an idiot I sold mine.

A quick fix for cassettes is just us ERG mode. Have a 11speed sram gravel bike and a 12 speed HDR race bike. I use the same 11 speed 105 cassette!

When I decided to buy a Wahoo Core recently I was concerned that installing and removing my bike would be a major pain, kind of what you went through here. But it turned out that both were really easy, taking just seconds for each. Maybe my bike's dropouts are conducive to that. Not sure. It's actually easier and faster than installing it in a wheel-on trainer, but thankfully those days are gone.
As for noise, it's also pretty quiet, other than the physical shifting and some drivetrain issues on my bike that I'm working on (basically need to replace the cables and housings), but I've got a cassette installed on the Core, not the Zwift Hub. I saw on another channel that the Zwift Hub's lone cog has much higher teeth than standard cassettes, perhaps to better accommodate a variety of drivetrains and chains, and that this might make it noisier.
Have you tried using a cassette or standard cog from an old cassette on the Hub? It's not that hard to swap out, and based on what I've seen and heard I'll probably stick to a cassette as it's just me and my one bike so no need for some universal gizmo that appears to be noisier than it should be, although the concept is quite interesting and I can see multi-bike households really needing it.
And now with virtual shifting available on the Core provided that you have a controller, I'm thinking of getting the Play controllers. A bit steep at $99, but apparently they also brake, turn and do other things. I actually have the Elite Sterzo Smart for turning, but the other features sound interesting. Of course by the time I get it all set up the way I like, the weather will probably have warmed up enough to switch back to outdoor riding and it'll all go back into storage till next winter!

It has 24 gears and you should get the Zwift Play controllers.

Yeah and I realized that on my next time trying it out so I'm working on a quick correction to edit in. I do definitely want the Play controllers though!

If the hub only works with ZWIFT, I would go with the Kickr, as there are other quality virtual options out there.

Rollers. They are cheap and they make you a better rider.
