  • Build a Motorized Bike using 25kW Motor at Home
    In today's video I decided to install 25kw brushless motor on a fatbike. This bike became so powerful, it can do burnout easily. 60km/h on biggest rear gear, so, technically it can go up to 100km/h. Enjoy :)

    Absolutely incredible cinematography, I am subscribing for more!
    I really doubt the claim of 25kW given here. The motor size is pretty small for that amount of energy, unless it is advertising the absolute peak the motor may ever see in an instant. Based on multiple builds I would estimate this is sub-5kW (especially with the note in the description). Please post the parts list so we can confirm and maybe build our own!

      I think it is 2.5kw. 25kw motor is always big and heavy.

      Of course, this small motor has a peak power about 5kW (for 10 seconds) and after 10 seconds it will buuuuurn like hellllll, oooiiiink !!

    • @diyelectricbiker9361

      Not to mention the bike chain which is heavy on the limit with a 2,5 kW motor

    • @MrXzylonx
      @MrXzylonx 3 роки тому +14

      @@diyelectricbiker9361 I have a 3kW that runs through a typical bike chain. By my calculations it should be at 50% strain under the worst scenarios. That leaves a reasonable margin for a little more but you're right, definitely not pushing 25kW through something that big.

    • @taxximaxxi
      @taxximaxxi 3 роки тому +26

    Did you mean 2.5 kilo-watts? A 25 kilo-watt motor can be used to make a drag racer out of a car. 25kW motors also commonly weigh at least 100KG or 250 lbs. Or did you mean 25Kv? That type of outrunner motor will have a Kv rating to indicate how fast it will spin at a given voltage. (Kv is the rating acronym and kV is the acronym for kilo-volts.)

    • @8180634
      @8180634 2 роки тому +1

      I was thinking the same. 25kW is more than 30HP, I saw the title and was expecting a real fire breahter! Still a cool project though, looks like it would be fun to play on.

    Have a buddy who built something similar, it was awesome and super fast, but... Make sure you watch your chain for wear and stretching. Seriously. My buddy was going something like 45mph when the chain snapped, slapped his leg/thigh, cutting him and leaving a long chain print on his right leg, but he also went down because the chain got sucked into the back wheel. He got some pretty nasty road rash, but something made him wear gloves that day (which he never did before), so he got to keep the skin on his hands, fortunately. Seriously, with that much torque, use a good chain and check for stretch often!

    Good idea, though I would have added a solar panel where the battery box is and an external plug with a “gas tank” that held the battery. That way the battery lasts longer as it charges if your stopped someplace or over all just riding around plus if you need to, you can charge it at home or wherever. I would have also made the ignition switch hidden in the handle and needed a key as well as a metal ring or something so it’s a sort of a two stage start up in case the ignition switch was picked and turned over or hot wired.
