- Wow I love sight fishing. I forgot how much enjoyment I get out of watching fish interact with my baits. Had an absolute blast in northern Ontario chasing hungry Brook Trout through the ice.

It's insane to see an upload schedule like this from a fishing channel. And with good quality too.
I think Jay has taken a different approach in the past, where just as much-if not more-time and dedication went into the shooting, editing and color correcting. He's one of the hardest working guys out there making fishing content, now we're just seeing that hard work applied to a different form of video.

Once as a kid with my dad fishing mid spring all snow had melted and re-froze over night leaving a thin layer of ice on top of 3 inches of water on top of lake ice. We caught then dropped a slippery brooky which took off across the lake between the 2 layers of ice. This vid reminded me of that. Glad you still got both eyes after that jaw jacker mishap. 👍

That was really cool. My first fishing memories are laying on the dock at Sucia Island in the San Juan Islands of Washington sight fishing for piling perch. It never stops being exciting.

I'll subscribe if you make more sight fishing videos. Very few on UA-cam and I've seen them all. If not sight fishing I like to see the fish come in on the fish finder and the chase the hook up. It's about studying and improving my fishing abilities in any way possible by watching fish reactions and how the bait was fished corresponding to the bite!

Used to do essentially this bow fishing but had a chainsaw to cut a much larger hole. Going to have to try the hand saw with rods. Make it easier to pull the big lake trout in. Assuming I can cut through the much thicker ice.

Hey Jay what are you storing your rods in for transport? Picked up a Drench and True Grit, both are to big for my standard cabelas case lol. Only goes up to 35 inches. We using rifle cases now? Seems a bit tight on the reel..
