I used to tease my poor 13 yr old daughter about Ronnie. I'd say "Me & Ronnie P sitting in a tree." She'd get so mad. I feel bad about it now!

I can rem being so tired of seeing Lawler all the time. I wasn't surprised when I found out how he would hog everyone's TV time. Wrestlers being asked to travel all the way to Memphis to do a studio show and would be prom tv time only to get there and not get the TV time cause Lawler kept going out getting on the mic and going way past his time. If the public ever learned about how he REALLY was they wouldn't like him as much today.

Agreed! He was protected by Jerry Jarrett and Eddie Marlin, and did whatever he wanted to do, because, just like Hulk Hogan in the then-WWF, he was their "Golden Boy!" They knew that their Wrestling Organization (Which was the CWA, and later became the USWA), couldn't survive without him! He seems to have operated under a "Free-range" kind of a deal.
After The King left, the USWA lasted for a while longer, then it became Power Pro Wrestling...and then things went downhill from there.
