I love how even Bret Hart described Lawler as the best working heel in the business circa 1993
Yeah I think Bret even said he loved working memphis for Lawler whenever he could. I got some footage of Owen working there too.
He wrote in his book that he loved working in Memphis cause it gave him some good time to work with Owen and flex their heel muscles together as the evil Hart Brothers. Granted that was after he completely buried Lawler and his cousin Honky Tonk but that’s besides the point lol.
Travis really went all out on Lawler's Hawaiian shirt.
It's perfect, makes my eyes water just like a lot of Hawaiian shirts.
I grew up watching Jerry Lawler out of Lville TV. Lance Russell, Dundee, Mantell. Great times if wrestling
“No Lawler? No problem. Get me Bota the Witch Doctor and Boy Tony stat!”
That's the biggest rule of any promotion, no promotion should ever center themselves around one wrestler. Bottom line, shit happens, wrestlers get injured, they get burned out, sometimes they just age out, if you center your entire promotion around one guy without that guy the promotion dies. Fritz Von Erich ran Dallas entirely around his sons, and Dallas died with them. In the WWE Champions come, Champions go, and somebody new comes in to carry the flag, the promotion runs on
I was wanting to hear Corny talk about Killer Karl Krupp, my grandfather was telling me stories recently about watching him in Atlantic Grand Prix.
There’s a reason they called him Jerry “Thinking” Lawler!
Jerry Lawler was definitely one of the best heel commentators back in the day. The way he favored heels, kissed Mr. McMahon's ass or coming up with some witty outrageous comeback it was always hilarious
I'll never forget when Bret Hart turned heel in 1997 and Lawler was suddenly best friends with Hart when Hart was doing commentary for some match. They put the camera on them and Jim Ross was just losing his mind at how friendly they were being now lol. It was amazing.
A Lot of Lawler's promos still retain their value to this very day...One of the best promo workers of all time IMO.
MORE MEMPHIS !
Jim is sooooo old. The bit about nashndixie hilarious
Double J is his own great uncle in law?
Jim Valley needs to be careful, writing in to the show. He’s gonna end up in one of Uncle Dave’s Twitter rants
I looked it up and almost spit out what I was drinking. lmao Dixie has man hands lmao
Why did I type in that website? Jim’s right though. Dixie has man hands.
lmao hilarious
Evansville!!! 👍🐱
Same..still live there..watched Memphis wrestling on Saturday mornings from 1980-1989
Actually like the Bill and Buddy run w/ Mantell
I went to the link before B-Last described it. It did make me giggle.
Hearing Jim type on the keyboard haha
I watched Memphis wrestling since the 80s. Many big stars came through Memphis..But Lawler is always been the main guy there ,so he could only been away for awhile. In particular after 86. I feel his best feuds were with Eddie Gilbert and Randy Savage .
Bill and Buddy show was great that year
i really wondering if jim will cover anything to do what what happend at the IWA-DS show
Personally, I want to hear his comments on Foley saying Gage and Moxley "took the torch" from him and Terry Funk. He might go nuclear
Chris, I just read about that. Crazy sh*t
No Jerry means I'd have a different childhood lol
Good Question
Wait!! That's NOT Right!!
I occasionally have to replace the hydraulic unit with a broken catch device.. Its not like a lot from the old one but it is a bit different to the past but hopefully that's the case... They tell me its a poor thing for the update and the Lost Ocean is Very loose I've tried to repair but no success yet so I'll have to wait until the end of the month to get the white ones off, it's all a bit of a mess and I don't want to waste any more time ... So it will be with you shortly after the repair has been done and the other bits of the package are missing so....... WTF?!?!!!!
Wtf is this comment?
Link worked for me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
same but now i wish it didnt
I grew up only knowing Jerry Lawler really likes puppies. Took me a while before I found out who he was.
Text Jim to 64,000
ah yes, he was also a big fan of the big Terry Invitational Tournament
Got those crispy creme eyes, they're glazed over
😂
Lawler was making me hate him when he jumped Bret at king of the ring I really wanted Bret to get him back but I was disappointed when Lawler didn't show up on survivor series and the WWE tried to turn the storyline around like it was Shawn Michaels all along I was confused as a thirteen year old.
🤘
Text "JIM" to 64000
Far out man I'll hit the number six thumb yo.
Croop or crup
Although I have loads of Respect for Jerry,I never understood why he was so popular in Memphis to the degree he was....I cant envision him being over like he was in Memphis in any other territory.....Which is probably why he stayed put for so long.
I'm from memphis.the reason he was so popular was because Memphis needed an home town hero and Lawler played it up perfectly.he slowly built himself up into a legend that would fight for the honor of Memphis and it worked
@@ericseitzler81 Appreciate that insight
I dont understand the thumbs down. what could cause a person to hit that when he is just telling a story. i dont get it.
I'm sorry. A match that has 40+ falls in the same contest is silly
I like the original artwork
Thank God we are starting to get programs where they are answering our questions and Jim can take us through history instead of listening to AEW reviews.
At first it was alright but now that Jim actually watches the show and goes into detail about the whole show it kind of loses me because I don't even watch that show
Same here. I stopped listening to full episodes a long time ago. I only do these short UA-cam clips these days. That way I only listen to what I am interested in listening to. No more political ranting, no more AEW reviews, no more of whatever else I’d rather not listen to.
Corny!!!!!
now I agree that XPW is (or was) garbage, however that episode was better than it had any right to be. The episode about Nick Gage sucked and wasn't compelling at all. I didnt care about his story or his garbage outlaw wrestling ways. The episode about the steroid trial was great.
Bank robbing druggie-Dad
Police station bombing biker-Good

Iv never got lawler? Never liked him as a wrestler or on commentary..
