One of the best Lawler promos IMO. Taking off the glasses to address Hart, you can see the anger in his eyes. Real or just good acting....who knows? Either way it appears real and that is what makes it so good.

Good to see a clip of Lawler being the true man he is & no the goof he is on tv. I grew ip watching Georgia, World Class & Mid-South (being from Shreveport, Louisiana) This is how wrestling was & is meant to be. Unfortunately, we'll never see this again.

He wasn't quite ready yet although he did try to come back early and wrestle Killer Karl Krupp and NEARLY re-broke the leg. It wasn't until mid-late December 1980-early Jan. 1981 before he was good and ready.

Back then, Memphis Wrestling allowed the fans to be a part of the contract process. Contracts were signed on tv, not behind closed doors like the WWE.
The match never happened. If it did it would have been in every wrestling magazine in its day.
