Thanks so much for watching this series! Glitch Quest was an experiment for me, and I think it was a successful one. In the future, I think Glitch Quest will focus ONLY on glitches that help beat the game in some way, and Glitchfest can tackle the rest. What do you guys think of that idea?
Honestly, Prof. Oak is ripping you off with only $9,999, seriously, save a Nugget, use the glitch, you'll have as much money as you'll ever need, just sell them all except one, and do it again.
I know like almost every Legend of Zelda game has crazy glitches, all the Wii ones have a play on title screen glitch all the cartridge ones have hidden areas, and game skips, n64 majors and ocarina have cartridge tilts that make all characters freak out and you can skip npc's that are blocking pathways. Legend of Zelda's are CRAZY glitched.
oak before his last pokemon: boy, you have forced me hand to use this forbidden pokemon *sea becomes blood* trainer: uh oh oak: go! do tm 05! trainer: wat?
Gamer 8691 It kinda does because the name missing no. means missing number, this may say there used to be more than 151 pokemon but or they ran out of designs, or something else.
Ryan Muhammed Syafiq Yeah, I know what you mean, it's just it's not a very normal pokemon at all. and I think we can all agree on that. I meant that the only way you can get missingno is from doing that old man glitch, and it curses your pokedex if you catch it, it gives you heaps of the item in your 6th slot if you beat it, and it looks extremely weird. It's called MissingNo. because it is missing a pokedex number. Which means it isn't in the pokedex, and a pokemon that doesn't get registered in the pokedex when caught? that's one of the weirdest things ever in pokemon to be honest.

Oak "your father, he,... infuses himself with only a quarter of the Pokemon.... Becoming a monster in the process..." Oak "he becomes this creature, a creature beyond the 151 Pokemon numbers... A... Missing number... Or... As I like to call him... Missingno... I keep this abomination as my pet,.. Legendary, isn't it..." Oak laughs as red starts crying and asking questions about why the professor was doing this horrible thing. Oak "Though your father has become my slave, he provided me with enough insight as to go to perfect his idea" . Oak boots up his PC and accesses bills storage area. Red looked in horror as Giovanni laughed in the background. Red "there are only 151 Pokemon!!! I will destroy whatever monsters you create!!!" Oak laughed while ordering Giovanni to banish red to the mountains. Oak "then you should start training harder than ever my dear boy. In a few years a new Pokemon master will challenge you with my missingno's baby's... But will you really want to injure and hurt... Your brothers..." As Giovanni hauled red off, oak began a program which started breeding the helpless Missingno with the Missingna. He looked at the display and saw the model of a Giritina. Oak "soon my precious, one day"
When I was a kid, I discovered a glitch on my own. I haven't watched your other videos so I dunno if you found this one. (I used this on Blue Version.) You basically do it like this: 1. Duplicate a shitload of rare candies. (You'll need them later.) 2. Catch a pokemon higher than level 100. 3. Use rare candies to level it up to 255. (I think this is the maximum, but I don't remember. If you put it up too high, it reverts to level 1.) 4. Once the pokemon is the highest level you can put it without reverting, deposit it in the PC. 5. Take that pokemon back out of the PC. When you take it back out of the PC, its level will revert back to the level you caught it at. But its HP will stay the same as it was when you deposited it. So basically you can repeat this process forever and give your pokemon massive amounts of HP. When a pokemon's HP goes higher than 999, it bugs out. The number gets glitched like when an item goes higher than 99, and you start getting multiple HP bars extending off the screen during battles. Best part is, you can take this glitched HP pokemon into Link Cable battles and it will show the same glitched HP on the other player's screen, and you can proceed to battle them normally. :3 But never use this pokemon in a non-gamelink battle and never heal it at a pokemon center. The former reverts its level and the latter reverts its hp. (And the former might revert its hp too. It's been years since I've done this so I don't remember.)
Also, sorry this was posted so late! Been working 12 hours straight to finish this (the only break was to make a gameplay video for ScykohPlays, didn't even take a lunch break) this was a long episode and I grinded it out in 6 days, it was crazy but I got it out Sept 13th as promised! (Well, it's the 13th still in the US at least)
dear dairy, today i was fishing for some pokemon and then out of nowhere a wild Prof.Oak appeared levitating through and above the water and battles me without saying a word. He threw unbelievable high trained pokemon and a strange one (remember the ghost in the tower of lavender, weirder than that). I managed to win then he disapeared as strangely as he came... levitating through the water. I tried to ask at Pallet Town but it seems Prof.Oak never left that day and he seems not to recall seeing me. Well i guess i must have dreamt of it.
Teen Gohano's Depends on what he is talking If he is talking traditional english it’s dreamt, If he’s talking simplified english, then it’s dreamed Traditional = British. Simplified=American english
Alex Bottom That would work irl, but I'm afraid that you can't actually walk through the world and cause reality and the people near it to warp around you...
The best glitch in any game was in The Elder Scrolls Morrowind. You create a spell that increased your speed by 100 for 2 seconds, and also soultrap on target. It gives you a permanent 100 point boost to your speed every time you cast it. I've raised my speed up to 700,000 and at that point you can't even play the game since just tapping the thumbstick forward will shoot you halfway across the world.
You can do it with almost any spell. Use the glitch with a summon skeleton spell and you can have an army of skeletons permanently following you around.
+The False Prophet just be careful with the speed stat. You can do it a little, but it destroyed my old Xboxes (plural, it killed multiple) when I was growing up. I wouldn't put it past 1000 or so.
I have never even considered glitching a pokemon game, but boy does this make me excited to do so. You sir, are a piece of youtube gold. Please never stop being you.
William Allan You’re doing void math wrong. It’s 666>6+6+6=18>1+8=9 The universe works in 3-6-9, know this know everything. Also, you shouldn’t make jokes about things you know nothing about ;-)
that was amazing!!! I never knew you could fight professor oak. I wonder if he was originally meant to be battleable. And this glitch just kicks off that disabled part of the code that is the oak battle.
He was going to be the final boss fpr what I know, but then Nintendo decided to remove him. That's why you can still fight him, and pokemon from gen.2 were going to be in Pokemon blue, red and yellow, but were also removed. MissingNo and the Red Clusterfuck were probably removed data of gen.2 pokemons
Highwalker he was originally a battle, but was removed last second because of incompletion (that's missing no and the other Pokemon, they have code saying they are Pokemon but aren't) and because they removed him so quickly they accidentally left part of him in there and now you can fight him with the missingno glitch
Maybe you have to keep pressing A multiple times because his name is so long that it takes multiple text boxes to show it all, and shows up as loads of blank characters?
Even 5 years after you made these videos, they're still fun to re-watch. I love your glitch quest/fest series along with your Pokémon videos, and I really hope you do more! c:
+MegaMax once my door cast a shadow on my ceiling and it was a perfect triangle and my first thought was ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED i told my friends but they didn't think it was funny :P
There's another glitch against oak (part of the ditto glitch for spawning any Pokemon) where Oak has regular Pokemon, all in the 70s including Blaistoise, Charizard, & Venasaur
2018 and this is a good video. Also, isn't there a second professor oak battle? The one where he has a lv.100 of whatever pokemon is left over after you and your rival choose. That might explain red glitch ( The big red blob at the end with no name ) because you don't have a starter.
I have a couple of ideas on the Professor Oak battle. He may well have been intended as a final boss, but I think it's more likely in an earlier version of the game, he periodically tested your strength, serving a similar function to the rival, and _then_ served as the post-game boss, in the way Red does in gen 2. The way the old ROMs worked, it was more work to remove something than it was to just overwrite it if you needed to. Remove the event that triggers something and it's as good as gone, that's how come Mario has so many "secret" levels you can glitch into. The fact that one of his pokemon is a "Missingno." implies to me he might have been meant to have a teaser pokemon from a planned sequel (long before Silver and Gold were imagined, he could have had a legendary pokemon from that generation, just to make people freak out. Imagine if he'd whipped out a Celebi, back then!). Missing Numbers are pokemon with numbers beyond the 151 we see in the dex. Or it could just have been junk. His team was probably overwritten with map data, or items, or sound effects, or whatever they needed room for. The red sprite and animation area around the unnamed glitch pokemon could have been a test for "shiny" pokemon, before they were finalised. I think the idea of Oak having a shiny _something_, perhaps your starter, but better in every way, and a crazy mystery pokemon that isn't in your pokedex is an interesting one, but this is clearly all speculation on my part.
it makes for a great theory but not actually true. as you know, the data for Pokemon in the old days was stored in data packs, and these packs go as 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, etc. since the number of Pokemon slots was 151 so they couldn't use 128, so they used a 256 pack instead and assigned all the remaining slots as "Missingno" since it doesn't correspond to any point in the game.
when I was a kid and the games had just come out, I found Missingno. accidentally. No idea it even existed. Its just astounding to think about. I followed the exact series of extremely specific steps required to make Missingno appear, entirely by coincidence. I don't know why I did the other things, but the surfing part makes sense. I would surf up and down the Cinnabar coast while grinding levels, since if I got poisoned i could just take a single step to the left and get to the pokemon center. Edit: Oh also, I accidentally gave myself a name that resulted in the classic, most well known form of Missingno: Ether. Also my favorite Pokemon in gen 1 is Raichu. So yeah, as a bonus, now you know why my youtube account has this name XD
etherraichu I actually named myself SamuelMN, (using the MN character) based off my name, which by pure luck was exactly the letters I needed to get all the glitch Pokémon I wanted.
rebelllion force Why? That’s the most believable bit. Choosing a name that can get Missingno. is easy as many common names qualify. For example, I called my character SamuelMN, after myself, (plus MN as it’s Pokémon Blue) and therefore 2 of those letters are lined up to spawn Missingno.
Wait a minute 111 Lvl pokemon * 6=666 OMG PROF.OAK WANTS U TO CATCH POKEMON IN TINY BALLS AND TORTURE THEM. FOR HIM. Prof.oak : Good Job Red U completed the pokedex Red : Thank you alot Prof.oak Prof.Oak : No Red......thank you
so upon googling it, TMs are apparently disks in Pokemon, so i like to imagine Prof. Oak's monstrosity just YEETING a disk at Mew, and his evade raising due to both Mew and Scykoh being like "?????"
The Legendary Jerry oh i get it because Red actually his first pokemon but a pokeball didn't know how to handle the genetic breakdown of a human and it turned into that which professor oak decided to use to create missingno like mewtwo was created from mew. but since he couldn't just "kidnap" red he made a clone instead and that's the red that ppl play with !!!!
+daniel wiles No it isn't. That isn't a bad number by any means, unless your an insane religous zealot. Which you might be if you think ones repeating (a common thing in computers) by any means is linked to religion.
... that wasn't Prof. Oak's true team. there is another way to battle him that uses the trainer fly glitch. For people who want to do it here's how it works. Start it off like the mew glitch but use fly instead. For red&blue fly to Fuchsia, For yellow Fly to Cinnabar. Find a ditto and have it transform into your pokemon, by using growl a few times it will decide which 3rd stage starter Oak will have. Run from the battle, fly back to Cerulean, and go on the nugget bridge. Your menu will pop up, close it and boom, Prof. Oak would like to battle!
the ditto glitch is a specific and completely different from this, and it will depend on the stats of the mon you last encountered (the transformed ditto). but both are ways on how to fight prof. oak, the ditto glitch has his original team.
I think that stylistically Glitch Quest is different enough from Swordless Link's playthroughs (or most "let's glitch" type series) since I'm not really just doing a Let's Play with glitches, it's more of a highly planned / condensed post commentary style. Definitely plan to do all those games in the long run though, just not sure when!
I found professor oak's final pokemon interesting so i decided to do a bit of research on it. Apparently the thing's name is just ゥ and then a poke-dollar symbol, and is a fighting type pokemon, has a attack of 135 but a speed of 2, and can only learn TM05, TM39, Bubblebeam, and Tackle
If you use the Mew Glitch to call a battle with Oak, and use Growl on the Special stat Pokemon 4 to 6 times to modify the Attack, he has a more realistic team at levels indicative of a post-Champion boss. He has 3 teams, each with one final evolved starter, and all of which also have a Tauros, Exeggutor, Arcanine, and Gyarados, which looks like he was planned to be the final fight after the Champion, but was cancelled.
alex santana idk but at some beaches there are these plastic spheres connected by rope to block off deep areas. or it could be those pool dividers some pools use to separate different areas in the pool.
Actually the water on maps are considered different map scrapes then the land area. And the glitch that crashed it when walking through walls was because the programming uses entry and exit points as markers. You were never supposed to be able to enter there so it has none. Thus it crashed
Bro i legit just watch the whole thing in one setting, and i enjoyed every second. I know these vide were made a long time ago, but they're still awesome. Keep up the good work mate.
You thought it was over... Thought he was gone... You always forgot about him... Missingno. Well Red he is back and he wants revenge for your forgetfulness. He has evolved, he is mad, and he is level 111. And Red... I hope your ready, he is your opponent. -Prof. Samuel Oak
Works until the first encounter. Wild pokemon you can flee. Trainers will seriously block your progress if you try avoiding them. Give your lv160 creature 1 EXP and it will default to lv100. Still a massive force, but nothing like 60 levels above :D
Well, it'd be possible since a level 1 ratata is able to take down the latest game (OR/AS) pokemon league and even beat the mega metagross..... yay, F.E.A.R. strat OP
It might have been that the particular M you had was the unused pokemon that was planned as a pre-evo of Kangaskhan at some point. Not sure though - Did other Missingnos evolve?
Hm... that Oak battle at the end was a little odd. Since he can actually have a legit team... which is very similar to Blue/Green's team. Is there no way to fight that team using these glitches? Like, I seem to recall being able to use the Mew Glitch to summon Oak too. And depending on how many times you use Growl, you can change his team drastically... or even better, you can summon Agitha, and make her have Pokemon over level 200! ...Pretty scary stuff I have to say.
There's a ton of different trainers you can fight using these methods. The Prof. Oak I battled here had two different teams already, so the possibilities are probably nearly endless.
Wait, if you beat Oak does that mean you can use the bike anywhere now?
FINALLY!
YES!
fixedsworld No.
But you can use a cucumber on her.

today i was fishing for some pokemon and then out of nowhere a wild Prof.Oak appeared levitating through and above the water and battles me without saying a word.
Skullmonkeys44 yes you dreamed

Can't pay your ticket? Just surf on a guy.
+Lukas Kuipers Didn't get the first badge? Walk through the world causing reality and the people near it to warp around you.
o my god 😂
+Lukas Kuipers Depending on your interpretation of the phrase "surf on a guy", then yeah, that would probably work irl.
Alex Bottom That would work irl, but I'm afraid that you can't actually walk through the world and cause reality and the people near it to warp around you...
+Victor Luu At least not until The Device is completed...
Professor Oak, the only person on Earth to have MissingNo's evolution.
That Prof. Oak encounter made me chuckle thinking about encountering random invisible people when walking through tall grass
If I remember right, you can do that with all the stats right? It's really broken
You can do it with almost any spell. Use the glitch with a summon skeleton spell and you can have an army of skeletons permanently following you around.
i've just started morrowind and i'll keep this in mind
thanks
+The False Prophet just be careful with the speed stat. You can do it a little, but it destroyed my old Xboxes (plural, it killed multiple) when I was growing up. I wouldn't put it past 1000 or so.
TheRichman42 i use pc, so it should be fine.
i hope.
Take that Oak! Who said we can't ride bikes inside!

that was amazing!!!
You can also fight a really strong version of Agatha with level 205 Pokemon it might be just in blue and red though idk
+Phoenix Wright you are right nintendo maked the original RBYG useless
Highwalker he was originally a battle, but was removed last second because of incompletion (that's missing no and the other Pokemon, they have code saying they are Pokemon but aren't) and because they removed him so quickly they accidentally left part of him in there and now you can fight him with the missingno glitch
"MissingNo and the Red Clusterfuck"
Sounds like a very brilliant pokemon game title
I wish Gamefreak and Nintendo will make this hapen

As you said, it's basically junk spots that had no use that were filled up to prevent errors.
when I was a kid and the games had just come out, I found Missingno. accidentally.
Yea right you got me up till the name part
etherraichu I actually named myself SamuelMN, (using the MN character) based off my name, which by pure luck was exactly the letters I needed to get all the glitch Pokémon I wanted.
rebelllion force Why? That’s the most believable bit. Choosing a name that can get Missingno. is easy as many common names qualify. For example, I called my character SamuelMN, after myself, (plus MN as it’s Pokémon Blue) and therefore 2 of those letters are lined up to spawn Missingno.

I can't believe it's been 8 years since I watched this originally
we should call that thing red
The Legendary Jerry oh i get it because Red actually his first pokemon but a pokeball didn't know how to handle the genetic breakdown of a human and it turned into that which professor oak decided to use to create missingno like mewtwo was created from mew. but since he couldn't just "kidnap" red he made a clone instead and that's the red that ppl play with !!!!

😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Hmmmm...🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Undeniable evidence
... that wasn't Prof. Oak would like to battle!
these are not the full instuctions. if you want full instructions i suggest the video Pokevlogs made. :)
the ditto glitch is a specific and completely different from this, and it will depend on the stats of the mon you last encountered (the transformed ditto). but both are ways on how to fight prof. oak, the ditto glitch has his original team.
>>I'll spare you the techical details
Literally the whole reason we're here.
Although it may be very reminiscent of Swordless Link's playthroughs, how about Banjo, Ocarina of Time, or DK64?
Yo bro, watchu doin here? I love your vids! :D
Hey, fancy seeing you here
I wanna see Majora's Mask.
Oh wow! Didn't expect to find you here :D Love your vids ^-^
I think that stylistically Glitch Quest is different enough from Swordless Link's playthroughs (or most "let's glitch" type series) since I'm not really just doing a Let's Play with glitches, it's more of a highly planned / condensed post commentary style. Definitely plan to do all those games in the long run though, just not sure when!
what??? 😓 a missingno. is Professer Oak's starter pokemon......
Not just the regular one, but a unique red one which forces the player to press A constantly.
Josh N it goes....
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~"
Geddit? 😂
I will shit bricks if the Pokemon Company made a actual Pokemon named Missingno. XD
For Anyone that is wondering TM05 Is Mega Kick.
You can actually fight Oak through glitching? That's amazing XD
What could possibly be more powerful than missingno?
*what? Missingno is evolving!*
If you name yourself DdDdDdD you find lvl 163 Mewtwos on the coast

Why did you say GG
Spencer Borg I find those with basically every name
Did you get that from TamashiiHiroka's gen 1 glitches video?
My best guess of those things in the water is those wooden...pole things you usually see seeing docking areas.
alex santana idk but at some beaches there are these plastic spheres connected by rope to block off deep areas. or it could be those pool dividers some pools use to separate different areas in the pool.
I think they're buoys or however you spell that.
Maybe they represent fences of some sort
Actually the water on maps are considered different map scrapes then the land area. And the glitch that crashed it when walking through walls was because the programming uses entry and exit points as markers. You were never supposed to be able to enter there so it has none. Thus it crashed
alex santana all i wanted to see
Bro i legit just watch the whole thing in one setting, and i enjoyed every second. I know these vide were made a long time ago, but they're still awesome. Keep up the good work mate.

Works until the first encounter. Wild pokemon you can flee. Trainers will seriously block your progress if you try avoiding them. Give your lv160 creature 1 EXP and it will default to lv100. Still a massive force, but nothing like 60 levels above :D
Well, it'd be possible since a level 1 ratata is able to take down the latest game (OR/AS) pokemon league and even beat the mega metagross..... yay, F.E.A.R. strat OP
if you catch m , and give it a rare candy it'll evolve into a level 100 kangeskhon that knows fly. i liderally never hear about that one
M? Wut?
The Prof. Oak I battled here had two different teams already, so the possibilities are probably nearly endless.
level 255 pokemon mate
What about Agatha Maximus glitch?
Firekiller749 That's the one I was referring to.
