Dave, when melting chocolate, you should use a double boil.. The bottom pot should have about half full of water, and then you lay another pot on top of that. That’s where the chocolate goes.
Consider adding a small microwave to your outdoor kitchen for ease in melting butter , chips etc? Im sure you could pick one up at a garage sale cheap. Love the show!
New sub to this channel! love your flipping/ picking channel and I'm an avid cooker/baker so thought I'd see some of you videos- love what you're doing!! Keep it up😊🎉
Hi Dave, You chose the best brand of white chocolate chips !! Those are good. To thin the melted chocolate you could have added a tablespoon or two of milk. If no milk, a tablespoon of water would have worked. Some people use a double boiler to melt their chocolate, so it does not burn. If no double boiler, a very very low heat temperature is necessary. I bet this recipe tasted great, good job ! 👍 (Make a note to remind us to make this recipe in December before Christmas. 😆) Thanks !!
Dave, use indirect heat to melt chocolate otherwise you will end up with a clumpy unusable mess - in your instance it wasnt unusable but think clumpy mess was still appropriate 😂. The microwave really is your best friend when melting chocolate
I'd let the mix cool, then stir in the chocolate chips. Like trail mix. :) Or maybe stir them in when it's still warm so they'll melt a bit. Or a lot. Why dirty a pan to melt it? I love the way you cook....stir with a fork if that's what you grab...just how I cook...LOL!
Dave, measure everything ahead of time, so you don't have to run around like crazy. Looks yummy! I'd use milk or dark chocolate mixed with peanut butter instead of the white. Sometimes I add a tiny bit of milk to chocolate before I microwave it.
@MyAerotech has the right answer on the chocolate... The double boiler is your friend with chocolate... The only additions I may have done was adding just a hint of cream and vanilla to the white chocolate...about a tsp of each unless you want a more intense vanilla flavor by tripling the amounts listed...and at the last second add 1/8 tsp of cinnamon...
Yeah, Mississippi with glasses. I couldn't see today when I left my house. Take it inside and it'll harden. Add peanut butter to chocolate for better drizzle. Try Butterscotch Drops, you can do that with your chex mix too. Growing up we did cornflakes.
Spread it out on parchment paper then drizzle it on it will cover better like snow…your choc was about to burn… put tiny bit of crisco in it to thin it out. I do it in microwave does not take that long
these chex mix vids are gonna do amazing in december for me gotta build up the collection - this is probably al lthe chex mix vids until sometime mid 2024

Add a little cream to your chocolate and melt slowly. You overcooked just a tad. It should drizzle if thinned properly with your cream. Looks yummy.
Is this it? Is this when the robots start taking over? With our chex mix?? Matrix, here we come 🤣🤣
Darn it Dave. Now I'm craving savory chex mix

Dave. You don’t ever cook choc on stovetop. Looks like the choc seized. Stovetop is over a double boiler
Next time try to melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Or at a little cream or milk to thin it out. Otherwise it looks delicious.

Hi where in Florida are you
Melt chocolate in double boiler or microwave!
I vote Dark chocolate!! 🍫
What happened to the Buckee Tshirt?
I wouldn't even bother to heat the chocolate; I would just throw it in.
I agree! Why dirty another pan!?
Saw your other video about replacing your windows but it was very pricey there is places that do it free check them out
Put the choc over a bowl of hot water
If you would’ve just stirred the chocolate through it and then laid it out to dry, it would’ve been perfect
you crack me up! i call them vanilla chips
