Chex mix is something that my grandpa would make in HUGE batches and he would send it out all over the country and sometimes the world, we are a military family. Everyone in the family looked forward to the box from our grandparents and that bag of Chex mix was always treated like gold in my house. Now that he has passed, I have started to make it and send it out.
my grandpa would make me pumpkin cheese cake. My dad made it for me once but he cant make it for me anymore. Maybe i will be blessed to have him make it for me this year but thats not looking like it will happen.
I used to make Chex mix for my kids. They each had a pail that ice cream used to come in. They each had a full pail and they would bring that to their rooms and snack on it while doing homework or listening to music…..they did not have cell phones back then…..my husband and I were lucky to have a bowl to ourselves. My recipe was similar to yours but still a tad different. I baked mine after adding the wet ingredients. This was back in the sixties.
My grandmother started making this for the holidays using the original recipe. She used her cast iron skillet and a large turkey roaster pan. Over the years she added her special touches like adding Cheerios, tripling the sauce, and lots of nuts. I think what makes it special is how each family makes it their own which is always the best!
My parents had a group from Church. Once a month, someone threw a theme party. They were clean, wholesome people. They were Catholics, so the alcohol would flow, and they were loud. Sometimes one of the priests would stop by for hors d'oeuvres and cut out after a couple of drinks and some free food.
I didn't like wheat chex when I was a child, but now that I am and "older" adult, I really like the wheat. I LOVE chex mix. I was just sitting here eating some this morning. I will have to try your recipe.
I just melt the butter in the roasting pan while the oven heats up and toss everything in the roaster and toss to coat. Only thing to wash is the roaster and the wooden spoon I use to mix with. And the measuring cups and spoons.
I always use a sprayer to put the butter on, so everything thing is coated, and then I sprinkle my spices on. I always sprinkle then taste sprinkle some more until it is seasoned to my liking. I always add more than the recipe calls for. I also added gold fish pretzels instead of regular.
This takes me back oh so manny years ago when my mom made this from the recipe off the box, but I think she jazzed it up with either or both hickory smoked salt or liquid smoke ie we didn't have pellet smokers back in the 70's
I grew up living on top of a grocery store. When I was small, there was no Chex mix. There was a snack called "Doo Dads". Turned out to be the predecessor of the Chex Mix that is popular today. I used to take an entire box of the "Doo Dads" and put it in the oven with a stick of melted butter drizzled over the top. I would bake it at 375 degree for about 20-25 minutes. Then I would cool it for about 10 minutes before serving. It was delicious ❤️💯 !!
My Favorite Chex Mix Recipe: I use only Rice and Corn Chex (not wheat) or Crispix, 9 or 10 cups of dry cereal. Then I add a whole lot of nuts -- 32 oz bag of deluxe mixed nuts plus 32 oz bag of cashew halves and pieces plus one of those 9 or 10 oz cans of cocktail peanuts. Put in about 2/3 of a large bag of pretzel mini twists. Use your hands to combine the dry ingredients gently. I combine 2 sticks of butter, melted, with 4 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder, and 1 Tablespoon seasoned salt. I pour the butter mixture over the dry ingredients and very gently combine it with your hands while wearing some cheap plastic gloves. I have a very large pan (21 inches by 15 inches) that I bought in a kitchen goods store just for making Chex Mix. Spread it all out. Bake at 225 degrees F. for an hour, stirring carefully every 15 minutes. Spread it out over a few sheets of newspaper to let it cool for an hour. Then store it in air-tight containers or bags. People love this end result. It seems stingy to go with one cup of nuts or pretzels. Be generous with your cooking. You want to delight your guests. This is a special treat that I sometimes put into quart size zip top bags as gifts to friends. It's a great gift for office friends, a regular delivery person who you appreciate, people who have everything they need, or those who live in a tiny place and don't have space for more stuff.
I hated the Wheat Chex when I was a kid. Now, with a more sophisticated adult palate I love them in the mix! I make mine with only the three Chex cereals. Sometimes add plain Cheerios, sometimes Life cereal for a little sweetness. The only nut I use is pecan halves. Yum! I also double the entire mix of sauce ingredients - including the butter! Now I want to add a tiny bit of Liquid Smoke to the sauce. Never thought of that! Don’t know why, since smoke is my favorite flavor. (You can take the girl out of Texas, but …) You’ve really made me hungry for this now! I’m with you - it’s not just a holiday snack!! Great video! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If you like wheat Chex try "wheat biscuits minis", they are little flavor bombs. They soak up tons of seasoning. We also use Fritos, roasted pecans, assorted nuts, Cheetos.
I posted this on your other video where you googled the world's best recipe (I went back and deleted that one). Try this one and let me know what you think. After watching your recipe, I think you will like this one. You had to use the Crispix this time - I always use Crispix instead of Chex mix. I don't use any nuts. Like you said, use the dry ingredients you like - it is the seasoning that makes the difference. The giant mega cookie sheet is the best idea. I have a cake pan that is 19" X 13" that I use. The trick to a perfect check mix, I think, no matter which recipe you use, is to have the chex mix in almost a single layer while it's cooking. That way you make sure that it's all very crispy and crunchy. So, I put the dry mix onto my cake pan. Melt 6 TBS butter and add 2.5 TBS Worcestershire sauce and drizzle it on (don't add the dry seasonings yet), stir the mix up really good, then shake the pan to level it all out again. Mix the dry seasonings together: 3TBS "Slap Ya Mama" seasoning instead of season salt; 1 TBS garlic powder - not as much since there is already some in the slap ya mama, I just want a bit more, 2 TBS onion powder). Sprinkle onto the chex mix in the pan. This leads to each piece getting its fair share of seasoning and you don't have to worry about using a spatula to get the rest of the wet seasonings out of the bowl/pan. Mix it up really well and shake the pan to level out again. Cook at 250 for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Let me know if you like it. In the meantime, I am going to try your idea of using chopped garlic in mine, Happy Thanksgiving!!
Mt Mom would double the "Whats This Here Sauce", (referencing Nipsy Russel) double butter, and double Cheerios. Get really good mixed nuts. It was our Christmas present for the family. Smoker sounds great.
I first made this original "Chex Party Mix" a week before Christmas 1965. My grandmother first made it in the early 50s. I mixed it in a large aluminum tub and packed it into four 6-quart plastic bags. The recipe was a big hit then, and I added Planter's fancy mixed nuts. Along with 6 or 7 cookie recipes and several pounds of fudge I was able to give Christmas gifts to everyone that year. Times were hard. Chex Party Mix made it a Merry Christmas!
I have vague childhood memories of Chex marketing their original 'mix' on their cereal boxes during the holiday season. I think I just dated myself. I'm going to try this New Years Eve for the fam. Thank you!
Chex party mix actually came out for Thanksgiving. That was few decades back, later on Chex started promoting it more for Christmas time. I love this stuff and will eat it anytime. I sometimes make it with franks hot sauce because they're used to be a recipe on the box about 20 yrs ago. I'm going to try smoking a batch because I love smoked foods.
@@Jane-West You are welcome. I made a batch this evening. Two tips for anyone interested. The big foil roaster pan will hold 3 whole boxes of cereal, a box of whatever cheddar crackers, nuts and pretzels w/room left to stir w/out making a mess. The other thing is today I used a generic Worcestershire and I wish I hadn’t. I love the stuff and noticed it didn’t bring the same kick to Chex mix. Oh well, it still came out worthy. Live and Learn. Merry Christmas!
I've been making chex mix for 35 years...My family look forward to it every year...I give it out as gifts every year...My special touches are bugels and Captain Crunch cereal that adds some sweetness...I've never heard of anyone using minced garlic cloves...interesting...I go heavy on the spices too and it is so delicious...Happy Snacking😊
My sister makes this, she cuts the butter by a 1/4 or less and adds that amount of bacon grease. 😳 oh my, that is good, plus she does add just a scant amount of liquid smoke. I’m a lucky recipient of this deliciousness! I love my sister!
Tradition growing up in my house too. I use fajita seasoning, some liquid smoke and Maggi seasoning instead of Worcestershire cause SIL is allergic to fish. I always use the wheat Chex for that added fiber along with mixed nuts! 15:51
I love Chex mix but no one else in my house will eat it so I haven't made it in years. This year I did and mailed 2 gallon bags of it to my brother in Nashville. I make it like my Mom always did with the 3 types of Chex cereal, pretzel sticks, bagel chips & 1c of mixed nuts, 1c of cashews & 1c of peanuts. Also we use about 3x what the box recipe calls for of the Worcester sauce and I add a matching amount of Louisiana Hot sauce. I love how everyone has their own family variation.
Really GREAT recipe! I put the melted butter, sliced garlic cloves, and spices into the blender and it really distributed the garlic flavor throughout the mix. Thx for the recipe and video. 🎄
My mother used to make something like this using Shreddies. I had to search the websites of our major groceries chains here in Edmonton; because I just don't notice Chex on the shelves. Maybe it's just not that big a thing here in Canada. Gonna hafta give this a try, though.
I also add Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos and sometimes Cheerios to mine.. Thank you so much for your recipe. I'm actually making this as I type this. Merry Christmas ☃️🎁🎄🎅🌲🤶🎄
My Mom would make it in a giant roasting pan. Her recipe was made in the oven and she put various nuts and chips in it. We fondly called it "grub". Many great memories of family get together at holiday times, laughing, talking, playing cards as we picked through the bowls of "grub" for our favorite pieces.
I use extra worchester also and if I have wheat chex I use some but mainly for just appeal. If you save some bread sticks you can toast the slices and they also add a lot to it. nuts are good but they tend to fall to the bottom. I like lots of rice chex or crispex but My favorite is using bugles lightens up the mix and they are delicious. And who doesnt like a bugle. I find them on sale and add pretzels also. My go to kick is Tony chacheries (sp) cajon seasoning. I add a little to each batch it has a little heat with it lingering to long.
Can I just say how much I LOVE that big honking mixing bowl?! That is a serious bowl, with way less risk of spilling out, so you can really stir, and not 'dab, dab, dab' as you attempt to blend it all together. Excellent bowl.
I make one Known as Nuts and Bolts. This Fall I made it in. The slow cooker. IM going back to a roaster pan in the oven. 1)We don't have a smoker and 2) it's not as easy to evenly cook & stir in a Slow Cooker. You must leave it open at the end to dry out.I like your fresh garlic I muse.Pretzel sticks& cheerios w/ rice chex or crispex.🎉
When using warm or cold stuff but not hot stuff and you don't have a large enough bowl you can place all of the ingredients into a large plastic bag if you have. I've seen people use shopping bags as well as brand new of course trash bags...so, after everything is in you twist the bag closed leaving air space for everything to toss well, and then gently toss the ingredients around until well mixed. This method also means less clean up afterwards, lol!!!
Dave In the 1960's when I was a child Chex came out with a recipe on the back of the box during the holidays. Your recipe is by my recollection close to the original Chex recipe although I believe it had less Seasoned Salt, and was baked in the oven, not smoked.I Love that you use Fresh Garlic, if you want to make it easier on yourself invested in a garlic press, or a micro plane, but the press is less expensive. I use only fresh garlic, cause to me powdered garlic tastes like garlic scented dust, but to each their own. But, once my mom made the original Chex recipe we made it anytime we wanted an easy to make snack 😎
That's funny, you mentioned some of the same classic ingredients my mom uses: crispix, gold fish, cheezits, and cashews. I haven't tried the fresh garlic yet. One thing my mom also puts in that is really good, is honey nut cheerios. Can't wait to try this recipe.
I actually like the wheat ones. My kids say they make it because 3 people in the world eat them. Me, a healthcare worker in sheboygan and the ceo of general mills. ❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
Good quality nuts are important. Cashews, toasted pecans, Smokehouse almonds & macadamias. I add sesame sticks too. And spicy Japanese rice crackers & wasabe peas. You can usually find those in cans in the Asian section of the grocery store, at least here in So Cal.
My dad makes a simple version with just the chex mix cause pretzels and peanuts hurt his teeth.uses all the same spices you do and the wishtorshurshire sauce lol.its always amazing! May I add I love how you clean as you're cooking!I'm going to try your recipe someday soon I think my 12 yr old would love it with the added goldfish and cheese itz.awesome job I would give it a 11/10 also just by the looks of it!!
Rice and wheat are my fave but really with the party mix they all are all great ❤”crispix “are awesome ! No peanuts I can’t do -allergy- Yours is awesome with pecans 🤤😋🤤❣️👍🏻
I just made this mix and it is by far the best savory chex mix I've made. I might dial back the salt next time but this is my go to recipe moving forward.
After "dressing" the mix, I like to take a few cups of the mix and put it in the pan where I made the "dressing" to help soak up the remaining goodness then dump it in with the full load of mix. OH, and I too, like wheat chex, especially when the Worcestershire bakes in.
We called this Nuts & Bolts, back in the early '60's, and it was just simply Cheerios, Rice, Corn & Wheat Chex, Stick Pretzels and Party Nuts, mixed together with a great seasoning, baked till golden and shared every where :)
Made this recipe for my birthday weekend & it is fantastic! I cut back on the Chex & doubled up on the extras instead. Nothing mucks up a good Chex mix like too much Chex!🤣 You were right, when you get the fresh garlic pieces, they are fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
I loved your excitement about the Chex mix recipe that you make. My family requested every year also. I do one stick of butter per box of Chex mix, but the same ingredients with the exception of real garlic versus garlic salt or garlic powder. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I'm the weird-o that picks out and eats all of the wheat Chex. Back in the 70s, my mother used the Deluxe Mixed Nuts (no peanuts), the 3 Chex Mixes, Worcester Sauce, Garlic Powder, Salt, Butter, Onion Powder and then put it in the oven for a while. I think you have a fantastic recipe!! The pretzels would be very yummy but I'm not sure if I would like Tobasco Sauce. I found your video very comforting. Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
for my family chex mix was always a halloween & xmas thing. I'm like your daughter, I always preferred the cereal bits, I would get my mom to male it with just the chex, but I'll definitely incorporate your cheezits and goldfish and maybe even dried ramen noodles.
I make a big batch a couple times a year. I mix it in clean garbage bag and leave it for about 48 hours, shaking periodically. I don’t bake it at all. I use Orville redenbacher popcorn oil for my wet ingredient. I like to add in the baked cracker with cheese combos, Keebler mini crackers, rice & corn Chex, pretzels, bagel chips. I use lawrys, garlic powder ranch dip powder. So yummy!
Dave I love your cooking channel I have always just seen you as a picker but you really have a talent for cooking. My two favorite obsessions garage sales and recipes. Thank you 😊😊❤
Definitely need more butter and more spices I put the mixed nuts in after otherwise they get soft they are ready roasted.. you could roast the butter before you do it also.. and you need to use the pretzel sticks..
Everyone loves my unique version. I mailed some to my oldest grandson last year and someone stole it and tried to replace it with store bought. Lol! Needless to say that didn’t work as mine definitely doesn’t taste store bought.
Thank you so much for sharing all of your delicious recipes! This recipe looks absolutely amazing! Can't wait to try it! My family and I love your UA-cam channel! Thank again, we really appreciate it! :)
It’s amazing this came out 11 months ago? And it showed up on my feed. I love wheat chex. It used to be my favorite cereal but I’m carnivore keto so I don’t eat that way. But I don’t have a problem with it in my Chex mix and I’m going to make some for a party coming up. I’ll be interested to see if this is a really good recipe here.
Been making it and giving it away for years at Christmas, Dave. Looks good. You’ve got the spice mix and proportions about right. Way too precise for me, I just use the eyeball method. Needs more nuts though. Also some different kinds; cashews, pistachios, pecans, walnuts in addition to the peanuts. Not much different from your recipe. I like the smoke idea. i also like the fresh garlic idea. I use garlic powder but will try the fresh stuff this year. I could give away gold coins at Christmas and my family would say, where’s the “Christmas trash”, Dad?
I love the idea of smoking the mix. I made smoked salsa for years and everyone loved the smoke tomatoes & onions so this will work. My only disagreement is that my family likes the wheat chex the best. The main thing is that they weigh a lot more than the other chex. Thanks for the recipe.
Chipotle Tabasco is the type I'd use. Some Old Bay would also make an appearance. Definitely one of my favorite snacks of all time. I also put this in a food processor and use it for breading chicken, pork chops, fish, steak fries, you name it. I been eating Checks cereal since it first came out back in the day. Shredded Wheat too. Never been a fan of sweet cereal types
Actually.... Wheat is favorite❤.... But I look 😅 forward to using all the rest of your hints and tips for the best ever wheat check mix!❤. Thx for the video!
I love wheat Chex I love all the Chex when I was growing up we always a different kind of Chex cereal in the house. We had three siblings and my mom and dad so we were always getting a different check cereal to make everybody happy that’s how I learned to love all three.
I'm going to try your fresh garlic add in!! I love Chex mix and have been making it for Christmas gifts for my family for years. I usually add in Gardetto's garlic rye chips and oyster crackers. I also bake a huge batch, using one batch of seasonings for each ingredient (9 cups cereal, a bag of pretzels, a bag of oyster crackers, etc.) I make it in a big Pyrex bowl on the microwave, cooking each ingredient separately. I line a card table with paper towels , then layer on each batch so it mixes evenly, let it cool and package it up!!
I had some of my mom's mix today. My Mom would make huge batches of this and give it out as gifts. We had our own ziplock bag that no one could touch! It was addictive. It was legendary and I had friends and co workers try it too and want some. It can get pricey with nuts and cereal and different add ins. Now I make it too but add more seasonings and boldness like this. Gonna try smoker! Love that. Try adding honey flavor chex or nuts that give some sweetness. I love the sweet crunch along with savory.
Fantastic, man. I’m making this today for the playoffs, but I don’t like garlic. I do however like onion,so we’re all good, going to add some bugles to the recipe. Thanks again,David. Subscribed to your channel, looking forward to the next video.
I make my Chex mix in a turkey roasting pan. I first mention the butter with the seasoning AND THEN ADD IN THE DRY INGREDIENTS. Mix well with my hands and cook and turn over every 15 minutes until it has cooked for an hour. Only one dirty pan and the mix is done.
The tweaks I’ve done over the years are very similar to your’s. But we like more butter in ours. Definitely NO wheat Chex!! And heavier on the spices. And cashews for the win. Gonna try adding goldfish to my next batch tho’. Thanks for sharing!!!! Loving your channel.
My aunt made Chex mix when I was little…(I’m 71 y/o). She called it Nuts and Bolts. Why??? I don’t know. I made a double batch and it is gone already. I shared it with my son. I pretty much follow the Chex Mix recipe except I add Cheerios….but I may try yours too.
I cook it on cookie sheets only 18 mins per sheet comes out delicious. I make triple batches twice a year for December and July ( Christmas ). My kids each get a gallon size baggy filled to take home
Chex mix is something that my grandpa would make in HUGE batches and he would send it out all over the country and sometimes the world, we are a military family. Sweet. What a lovely memory and a great tradition to carry on!
I’m sure everyone who got a parcel from your grandpa and from you feels and tastes the love!
my grandpa would make me pumpkin cheese cake. My dad made it for me once but he cant make it for me anymore. Maybe i will be blessed to have him make it for me this year but thats not looking like it will happen.
My mom used to make this too
God bless you for carrying on a tradition that obviously meant so much to your grandfather.

The wheat chex has always been my favorite, since I was a kid! Lol
Me to😂
In this mix it makes a real nice variety and the seasoning can change the wheat slightly to where it isn't the same as plain wheat flavor.
I love wheat chex.
Yep!!
Wheat chex absorbs the flavor better than the other cereals.
My grandmother started making this for the holidays using the original recipe. She used her cast iron skillet and a large turkey roaster pan. Over the years she added her special touches like adding Cheerios, tripling the sauce, and lots of nuts. I think what makes it special is how each family makes it their own which is always the best!
Bugles are a great addition.
Definitely need the Bugles!!
Ooo. Sounds good! Then I could leave out the pretzels and bagel chips!
I made a couple yrs ago adding chili lime powder & now it,s requested along with little tobasco! WOWZER!!
I love Chex mix, Mummy would make it for New Years Eve party, those 60’s and 70’s parents really loved to party!
My parents had a group from Church. Once a month, someone threw a theme party. They were clean, wholesome people. They were Catholics, so the alcohol would flow, and they were loud. Melted butter elevates almost any ingredient. Especially carbs!

If you don't have a smoker, what about adding a tiny bit of liquid smoke in the season mix?
I was thinking the same thing. Like maybe a quarter to a half teaspoon.
@@heathereagleson1098what about smoked paprika?
I love the wheat chex! The butter and spices make them delicious!!!
Yes I do love the Wheat Chex! Yum, yum
I’ve always liked to include wheat Chex. I think it holds the flavored oil the best
Try cheerios. They hold the flavor great. 😋
Bagel Chips are awesome in this MIX
I add the small bites shredded wheat. It soaks up all that yummy butter.
Love the dark wheat Chex! Even better, but so hard to find are bran Chex! Bran Chex are sweeter than wheat, and a good fit with the saltiness.

It’s just funny that wheat Chex in Chex mix qualifies as a sophisticated palate!🤣

Yes, just not the ones sugar coated.@@nancyhelpinstill1834

Secret ingredient, add some lemon juice to the sauce. I purchase the big roaster pans from the Dollar Tree to roast the mix in.
Thank you for this suggestion! I picked a few up at Dollar Tree today, and yes ma'am it did make it easier!

@RubyW7944 Thank you, Ms. Ruby! That's good to know!
My annoying focus issue was super grateful that you got that soft spatula to scrape your butter pan out😁 This looks amazing.
In college my roommate would always bring it back with him from home. His grandmother made it for him and I would eat all of it! So good!
I use the 'itty bitty' pretzels for easier; mixing & eating and I also use mixed nuts & an extra cup of cashews👍 now gonna add garlic👍👍👍
My sister makes this, she cuts the butter by a 1/4 or less and adds that amount of bacon grease. 😳 oh my, that is good, plus she does add just a scant amount of liquid smoke. I’m a lucky recipient of this deliciousness! I love my sister!
That sounds amazing!!
Ooh! I'm going to try this! Thank you!
Tradition growing up in my house too. I use fajita seasoning, some liquid smoke and Maggi seasoning instead of Worcestershire cause SIL is allergic to fish. I always use the wheat Chex for that added fiber along with mixed nuts! 15:51
I never thought of adding liquid smoke. Thanks for the hint.
Wow! Your version sounds terrific !!
Chex mix is something that my Grandma would make in HUGE batches. We would much on it for weeks! I make sure to make it every season!
Hi Dave! I'm definitely trying this!! Thanks for the recipe!
Loved listening to you. "I might keep you, little burner." You make it so much fun
🎉Garlic press for the win! Quick and easy. Also, fry in the butter a bit to get rid of the raw garlic taste. Yummy.
My favorite also, I always pick them out first!
Eating my grandmother's version as I watch that was leftover from Thanksgiving at 1:45 a.m. Num num num!
Wheat Chex is my favorite because it soaks up so much of the liquid spice mix!
My family likes bugles and cheerios in ours. We also like to use pecans for our nuts.
Can’t wait to try your recipe. 🎉
Good quality nuts are important. Cashews, toasted pecans, Smokehouse almonds & macadamias. I add sesame sticks too. And spicy Japanese rice crackers & wasabe peas. You can usually find those in cans in the Asian section of the grocery store, at least here in So Cal.
my mother made this every Christmas, now it will be up to me.
I LOVE WEAT CHEX. I think they are really good when they soak up the marinade.😮😊
No peanuts I can’t do -allergy-
Yours is awesome with pecans 🤤😋🤤❣️👍🏻
I just made this mix and it is by far the best savory chex mix I've made.
I might dial back the salt next time but this is my go to recipe moving forward.
I never thought of garlic absolutely great idea👏👏👏
After "dressing" the mix, I like to take a few cups of the mix and put it in the pan where I made the "dressing" to help soak up the remaining goodness then dump it in with the full load of mix. OH, and I too, like wheat chex, especially when the Worcestershire bakes in.
We called this Nuts & Bolts, back in the early '60's, and it was just simply Cheerios, Rice, Corn & Wheat Chex, Stick Pretzels and Party Nuts, mixed together with a great seasoning, baked till golden and shared every where :)
Same as my mother's! We call it TRASH. It's mighty good trash...I love the early recipe the best.
Love the crispix hack! I never liked the pretzels and peanuts in my chex mix, i love the idea of goldfiish!
For me, Chex mix is a summer camping treat.
for my family chex mix was always a halloween & xmas thing.
So yummy!
That's actually not a Chex Mix that's actually a oyster cracker recipe from a very old cookbook whose name I can't and call it the moment
@@teresamontgomery9413 Betty Crocker? I’ve seen it with oyster crackers but I don’t like them. 😂
I also use the disposable foil turkey roasters from the dollar store to cook this in. (Just be sure to put it on a cooky sheet for support)
Thank you so much for sharing all of your delicious recipes! This recipe looks absolutely amazing! Can't wait to try it! My family and I love your UA-cam channel! Thank again, we really appreciate it! :)
thanks!
Making this tonight, started following you for the garage sales now this. Keep up the great work brother you got a fan here in Canada eh
And I use 6 of the Worcestershire I also love this and supper heavy on spices you are right 😊
It’s Christmas 2023 for me!! Can make for New Years!! Thank you!!🙌💓💓😍
I add a 1/4 - 1/2 tsp or so of liquid smoke to the butter. Puts a little smoke flavor in the background. Delicious.
I love wheat Chex! They absorb the butter really well!
What a fun video ! I thoroughly enjoy it !My family & I love Chex mix 😂 I must admit
🙋🏻♀️ I LOVE “Wheat Chex” ❤
I love the wheat in it
I'm making this today, looks SO GOOD!!! Thank you for sharing!
I love the wheat Chex. I pick them out.
Fantastic,man.
I’m making this today for the playoffs, but I don’t like garlic.
I do however like onion,so we’re all good, going to add some bugles to the recipe.
Thanks again,David.
Subscribed to your channel, looking forward to the next video.
I wish we could still get Bugles in Canada, they’re essential in Chex Mix!
Great idea. Add smoke to the spices as well if you don’t have a smoker.
I use Bugles in my mix. They are delicious!
Make year round. Use crispix add French fried onions plus regular addition. Depends what’s in the pantry
My nana used to make the best I've ever had. This looks pretty good
I triple the sauce as we all love it a lil kick & we add cashews, cheese pretzels, yogurt raisins & moms! Kids love it😋😋😋👍🫶🏻
The tweaks I’ve done over the years are very similar to your’s. But we like more butter in ours. Definitely NO wheat Chex!! And heavier on the spices. And cashews for the win. Gonna try adding goldfish to my next batch tho’. Thanks for sharing!!!! Loving your channel.
I use a whole stick of butter. Just 2TB more, but really helps get everything coated better. Plus, butter is delicious!
I never thought about using the smoker. Im gonna try that.
