    Hi, now that your van build is complete, as is ours and pretty much similar to yours! did you have to notify DVLA of the changes made to the van, we only have the spacesaver seat/bed installed in ours again same seating as yours, and not using it for passengers as we didn't go for the M1 tested version, so it is really only a day van. Cheers!

    Hi Dave, you did quite a respectable job on your Transit. It deserves its Custom-title more than ever. I'm thinking of buying a PHEV-petrol panelvan one and follow your guidelines for the camper interior. In this regard I wonder about this: somewhere between video 7 and 8 there appears an inside and outside beautiful window on the right side, later copied on the left, but you never mention them, not even in the sum-up-costs video. Or have I overseen that? Anyway, can you tell me where they come from? Thanks, Luke

      Hey Luke! Thanks for the comment and checking out the videos! Yes you are right - this was the one thing I didn’t do myself. I had a local firm supply and fit them for me. Good luck with your build and thanks again for the support.

    Absolutely love the van and love the video series you have produced.. you should have more subs imo!
    I am doing a 50 percent self build ( outsourcing the wiring and the carpeting of the van). What I cannot get my head around is what structures do you fix the cupboards to on the van walls and the van floor? If the walls and floors are plyed, how do yo make sure you are drilling into the b pillars or in the case of the floor how do you screw to the ribs without accidentally going through the actual exterior panel of the van? I know this is a real beginners question, but any advice would be hugely appreciated! many thanks Vee

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  2 роки тому +1

      Ah thanks Vee! Really nice of you to comment and glad you like the videos! For my build I carpeted the pillars so I could still see them to attach to. I also used some furniture blocks to attach to other areas and the ply too just to make sure it was fixed in. If you are fitting full ply panels then mark up where they are on the roof or floor with masking tape so you can reference after. On the floor I used shorter screws to just go into the ply and not the ribs. These were more for stability really. Mine hasn’t shifted at all and been fine since fitting 👍 Hope this helps and good luck with build. 😃

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  3 роки тому

      Hey Daryl - well…once the trim was on they are very snug!! They do close flush but have to say take a bit of a push… I don’t mind as stops any movement when driving… However, I know this was a “budget” option for me as a had limit to work to for my conversion…
      I did the same with the catches 😂 I did find some smaller ones here but the catch and angle of these was an issue too! So they work but again not what some would see as a premium solution! I just want to be totally honest with you 👍

      Hey Angela! Nice to hear from you again 👍 oh no!! I think that must be dependent on the insurance company? I’ll have to check who we insure with as it’s in my wife name and she sorting it out… However we also just joined camping and caravan club!! 😃 and when we up for renewal they have some specialists we will prob move to.

      @@TransitCustomCamper Fab!! that's really helpful and we are also with C&CC so will look at them next year for renewal, I have just emailed you some pics and would be more than happy for these to be used, will send more of the conversion from the beginning. Our so-called insurers charged us £55 to cancel the policy!! we have since now managed to secure a new policy elsewhere, not cheap either but apparently very competitive. Thanks again.

      Hi - thanks for the comment… Not sure my wife would be too happy if I sold the van now 😂 I might be doing another conversion for sale at some point in the future when I can save up more £££ 👍

      Hey.. thanks for checking out the video and the feedback. What did you do on your build? It was my first attempt so be great to get your view? We can still use the cupboard & have since put in a shelf and a partition and a rail also.. so it’s not too bad 😅
