Just incredible what you can achieve in a smaller van. After this video I think I’m going to go for this van instead of a larger van. Could you travel Europe comfortably with 2 persons and a dog in this van?
Hi we’re doing a self build campervan conversion on a Ford Transit Custom and we’ve realised the rear door straps (that keep the barn doors fixed open) really reduce the cupboard space at the back. I see you’ve removed them - do you get any trouble without these? When ours were broken I found it really annoying when the doors flapped about in the wind! Thanks for the video
On those two rear seats, is it possible for them to be legalised for passengers with seatbelts? Also is it possible to keep the existing double front seat to swivel including the drivers seat, so all front seats turned round.
This was a nice build! - but waredrobe, too much space and it makes the van feels or looks cramped. If this could be downsized or skipped it'd be nice, rather some cabinets in the roof sides for stuff but if you go vanlife you just pack a bunch of t-shirts and tennis tees and 1-2 loose shirts, 1-2sweathers and that's it. :) ^^
Very similar layout to my Devon Firefly SWB high top, based on the same base van. Some features are really good especially the large bed option, which we don't have, just the two singles. Particularly like the modern bright finish to the furniture etc. Though I'm not sure about the 13amp socket fitted so close to the sink, would that be an issue regarding electrical regulations?
The NICEIC recommends that socket-outlets and other accessories should be located at least 300 mm, measured horizontally, from a sink or draining board, where they are unlikely to be splashed. So we're good with this particular setup.
Thanks, it’s a 240v only heater not a diesel heater, so yeah you need to be on hook up for it to work, there is an option for a diesel heater which you don’t need hook up for.
Great mate. I’m looking for a bit of advice on how to carpet my rear doors to have a nice finish when they are opened. If I carpet the whole door it disturbs the rubber seal doesn’t it?
If you carpet the door and shut it then with a pencil lightly draw a line alongside the rubber then cut down line, if you carpet past where the rubber is seated the door might leak.
This must be a UK model, never seen a ‘CUSTOM’ IN USA,,BUT here there 3 length, & 3 heights Only he small one has a Diesel engine svailable ALL OTHERS are petrol, cheers🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸
All vans this size are diesel although some of the new vans are electric as i think amazon has ordered a few thousand new electric vans But the uk fuel price is too expensive to have a petrol van if it was carrying maximum payload etc as in the uk the petrol did get to £1.35 ish a litre at one point
Instead of the relatively low cutting board over drawer (nice idea in principle) why not something similar higher up or a flip board which would then also still allow access to the drawer. Up to personal taste: I really dislike the furniture coverings. Many professional van builders style it as a car. Guess, they have their reasons... I would think if we loved the plastic and cheap "carpet stuff" we get in cars, we would design our homes after them. (not to be a critic of this setup, I assume you have your reasons, I am just surprised time and again)
I'd take my self build high roof custom any day. It's nowhere near as professionally built but mine is way more cosy and comfortable. Who wants to sleep on a car seat?? Plus when the beds out, as is typical with most short wheelbase conversions, the van is rendered useless for anything other than sleeping
Everyone has different wants and needs but personally I would opt for the gb camper conversion any day of the week, extremely well thought out and superb use of space
It's great to see a different layout from the rock n roll bed. Good van
I wish we had such genious and cosy conversions in France ! Congratulations for your work.
Very cool. Perfect size van for Europe travel with all the features of a large camper!
I expanded the same Ford Transit Custom. You did great. Have fun . Greetings from Germany .
Neat & Perfect finish touch like a feel that we live in Tiny Home....Just ...WoW....(Wait for more videos)
Great layout, especially getting in a toilet with privacy. Good job but I think the skyblue is an acquired taste 👍
The design is ingenious. Love it.
Very generous and use of space. Everything that's needed. Great video. All I can say is Wow!
Thanks so much!
Very well made, good quality finish.
Great layout. Practical Van

Great job. Fine van.

Hi can you put a pup top on a Ford transit connect and if yes what height would it be in the inside. Lovely job
How much to do a VW autosleeper topaz copy with LWB Ford Custom?

Super
I want that, I like it very much.
Do you make for others? At what price it all came to
Where did you get the Polyvision windows fitted? I've been told you can't fit them in a custom as they bend the door!
Intéressant

How much for this exact set please
I haven't been able to find out anywhere online, are seats like that legal to carry passengers?
Great van mate. So you need to be on a hook up in order for the diesel heater to work? Is that the same for all van heaters?

Just to clarify the length of the swb transit custom is 4.99 mtr not 4 mtr like I said in this video, I do apologise.

Just under 4 metres? If you google it, you get about 4.9 metres for the SWB!! So, just under 5m!
Can't swing a cat so uncomfortable

Have you a video of your conversion? If like to check it out while deciding how to convert my own.
