Wow. My audiologist didn’t do any of this. She said she programmed it before I got there. When I got there for my appointment, she put the hearing aids in, asked what I could hear and was it better, and that was it.
My first Audiologist did the same thing and only used 1 company. After 6 months and I was ready to throw them into a drawer. I started doing research and found Dr. Cliff. I ask her about REM and she did not believe in REM. I found a new Audiologist that did believe in REM and the hearing aids worked great. My first Audiologist was a referral from my ENT of many years. The conclusion is, do your own research before you pick a hearing care provider not after you get hearing aids!!!
@@DrCliffAuD fortunately, I only have mild to moderate hearing loss, but these were my first hearing aids, so I don’t know what I don’t know. But I am learning!
Was fitted with my first set of hearing aids 6 days ago. The process took around 70 minutes, and included most of the things you mentioned. What I wasn't told was to keep a record of issues, but I had already figured that was needed, including adding and changing of programming for my follow-up visit.
This should be one of your most popular videos. The 20 minute fit is all you get with internet audiologist warriors. Brick and mortar! Ask questions (this works both ways).
I've been wearing hearing aids for 8 years, and I agree with you on the fittings: a longer but better fitting is a ton better than a shorter but worse fitting.
Been wearing hearing aids for over 7 years, and started watching your videos and decided to find a hearing care provider that did real ear measurements,so I call around and found one that did the measurements, they made a few adjustments,so I had a custom ear mold that need replaced, because the microphone was moving in the mold . In this video you said something about after taking the impression, the manufacturer made the mold accordingly, and I ended up with two different molds. They were Widex if that make a difference.
I wish I lived in your area to get your service. I know a couple of good hearing aid providers in Fresno but neither does all the things you mentioned.
Hi Dr. Cliff! Where I work the audiologists often dont program to real ear targets for 250 Hz. Is there an audiologic reason for this you are aware of? I've been trying to look it up but I havent found anything. There is the upward spread of masking but wouldnt NAL take that into account when devising the prescription?
I love my hearing aids. 🤔 I only remember you once having to tell me to set my double-tap so that it took less effort for me to use it. Good job, Cliff! 😁💖💕
I came across your channel just 2 days ago, when I was searching for information to safely unpop my right ear. It’s been muffled for 2 months ever since my last flight. My dad just recently got hearing aids about 3 weeks ago. Very high tech ones from Beltone. The hearing care practitioner took a good over 2 hrs explaining everything before he got them. Then almost 2hrs when he was fitted for them. She is slowly adding more sound/volume over the weeks. He’s at 70% of his rx right now. She wants to have all his phone calls to go directly through his hearing aids, instead of his phone. Unfortunately lol she hasn’t figured out why it won’t? The Bluetooth is turned on his phone & she said it’s setup in his hearing aid settings but it won’t work? I don’t think T-Mobile our cellphone provider will know either. Any suggestions? Until this is figured out he won’t be able to setup/use the tv streaming feature through the hearing aids either. You are extremely experienced on your information on your channel. Please help if you can with your advice? God bless you & thank you. 🙏😊
Cliff I got an issue with my old Audio p30. Phonak. I'm trying to find the technician manual,. My left knee went out and I need to fix it before my interviews,., I'm ⛏️ up my new Infonios on friday...Will try n find your email n I'll get a heads of you that way.. Thanks,!¡
Very timely video for me as I'm coming into your clinic for my fitting tomorrow. Thanks!

We schedule 75 min. For a fitting, and often run over. Building a strong foundation for hearing aid use is probably the most important step.

Watching from India. I wish i was in your area for hearing aid fitting , since there are not very good hearing aid fitters in India.
Thanks. Helpful information
If that is the hearing aid fitting that takes 75 minutes how long is the initial consultation where you do the ear scans and hearing tests etc.
@@lewis71980 2 hours. I discuss the process in last week's Vlog.
