15:44 Love your videos, I love throwing big baits, but most of the times it’s from the banks in NorCal, I have not had a lot of success with them but I keep throwing them out because that’s what you have to do. I have the asb 250 and I love throwing it I recently picked up some of the different Baitsanitys baits and I love throwing them.
Thanks jeff, the first time I saw glide fishing was on your channel, I'm hooked love throwing the different baits , still haven't been able to fish a hinkle. Some day! Love the 250!
I live in VA and love the big baits. Not much luck though. Yet. But you have become my go to source for glide info. Love the content and it’s appreciated bro. 🙏
Hey Geoffrey thanks for the video! I’ve been using the deps 250 for half a year and have seen so many giant bass that I have never seen before. I know eventually one of them will bite it! I’ve trimmed the excess rubber that comes off the head piece at the hinge joint. Which turns the 250 into a more chop style bait.
Been designing a glide for 6 months now. I've found the nose up issue on mine from having too much weight in the front. When retrieving it, it would want to sink a little too nose heavy and the line would keep pulling it up because it wasn't perfectly level.
Hey man, you should go to the White River in Arkansas and use big swimbaits for them monster brown trout. It will be sick asf or head to Pyramid Lake in Nevada
We had a guy in the fly shop where I work talking about how the biggest browns in the White river aren’t the ones that they stick on the streamer but the ones that come up and steal twenty-inchers off their line. In my area we’ve got a particular river that regularly produces 30” fish and has a 37” record that is only 12 lbs off the world record where I got my PB at 28” this spring on a 178 claw. Big browns love big swimbaits, it’s a riot!
Hey Jeff, I’m out here in California and I’m getting ready to make the commitment and put all my small stuff aside for the winter and just focus on learning how to throw big baits. What is the best not to use I’ve recently purchased some expensive lures to up my swim bait game and I really don’t wanna lose them so if you could let me know what not to use, that would be awesome
I'm not gonna lie, I haven't heard much about these baits. This is really the first video I've run across. I know it's a pretty specialized method with the modern electronics available. Your presentation and explanation piqued my interest. I'm going to look into it more. What tackle is the norm for this method? It seems like it could work for striped bass as well. My main water to fish, because it's close by, is a deep, clear water reservoir in N. Ga.. Jeff,if you're ever down this way, I'd like to tag along and check out how an experienced angler goes about this. Is it effective out of a kayak because that's what I've got. But I'll tell you this, let me hang out and learn how to do it and the cleaning your boat will get will be first class... I'm going look at getting my hands on one and start getting used to it...
I know many guys who have fished the 250 for stripers and have done really well with them. Normally a XH rod with a 300 size reel and 20-25lb line is what is used to fish this bait. I also knew a handful of guys who threw the bait out of a kayak and had great success as well
I’ve never fished a deps so I really can’t say anything about other baits being better than it but glides I think are great swimmers would be the 6th sense draw which is an abs 9” glide. The 86 sentinel is an awesome bait, 7” glide but it’s got a wider glide than a lot of baits that are bigger. The rafa Joey shad is a great glide, I think it’s 8”. The 86 andromeda is a beast, 10” 6.4oz shad glide.
love this! yes if I didn't live in musky country, I'd have at least 4 of these in different colors and fish them solely; they're easy to weight/adjust and make slow sink/suspend. There's a reason Butch bought these up when they first came out and he has a lot of DD's on them. He also has a video where he explains how to convert the current model to an OG type. I like what you said about the skin silencing the hinge, but it also causes the back to 'rebound' back to straight which I think improves the glide and the look to keep it from jackknifing and crunching. Great video, thanks!
Cool video, the background music shows your love for the Japanese culture. When do you see yourself moving over to Japan? Keep up the good work. 👍🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽🇺🇸
Geoff, I just recently purchased the new version of the 250, and I want to tune it to suspend in 55 degree water Temps. I was wondering if you knew how much wait I should add or take away to get the 250 to suspend? Thanks for your time Eric
Thanks a lot. Your videos are very inspirational and educational. You have a great stream of followers in Europe whete we adapt bigbait tactics to other species than bass. I agree 100% on the SlideSwimmer 250 being able to drive big fish crazy. By the way what do you think of Deps' Code Name Bass ? Cheers.
We were throwing 14 inch AC plugs back in the 1980s 40 years ago , catching 15, even 17 lb bass from castaic in LA quite regularly. The good old days. Allan Cole started this giant bait/fish craze
I love the OG 250. Had issues in colder water in the Northeast . The hooks would stick into the 250 to resolve this. I changed my hooks and down sized a slight bit. 🎣☮️😎
Have 1 Deps 250...beingca lure junkie, had to get 1. Probably never use it....what's up with big rat baits? Seems they have been hibernating...haven't seen any talk or videos on big rat baits in awhile
I kill it on the Googan squad Jr. Contender Blue Gill & bone... But if you can get them get them. Because they don't sell contender any more ...it's the rival and fat shaddy.,the googan swim baits have this rubberized pant and don't come off
@crazybassfisher I'm going to try that. I think it's a little too heavy/fast sink rate. Yours looks like it swims incredible and suspends perfect! Thank you, Appreciate your reply! I got a little one on the Klash 9 yesterday so that was cool haha
jeff you’re the man! I believe you’re the swimbait king of AZ

Interesting, that makes sense!
My biggest Large Jaw was fooled by this awesome glide. 🙌🏾
I’m ready to hit up Canyon when you are. I’ve got a 521c ranger lots of room
Hopefully the lake stays healthy and the fish keep growing on that lake!
Sweet video yes 250 hands down!
Thanks for watching my dude 🙏
Constant awesome info bro keep up the good work my guy
Thank u for the tip on the screws I have 250 rainbow trout 👊

That sounds like so much fun! Big browns on glides sounds like a dream!

I personally use the Double Uni knot and I have never had the knot fail me once!
@@crazybassfisher what about for the bait
Lure retrievers pay for themselves quickly throwing big swimbaits. I saved over $1200 using the hound dog retriever from tackle warehouse.
@@chadsweitzer325 definitely will be picking one of those up. Thanks.
Hey Jeffery I want to get a deps slide swimmer but live in Michigan do the smaller sizes run as good as the 250?
How do you store your glides? Got any links or recommendations? Thanks!
Is there any way I can get that one Glide bait that white color that everybody's talking about bonheur
Totally agree 100% old faithful 250!!!

S Wavers are the only ones I need. Proven to catch fish and if I lose one I’m not heartbroken over losing a super expensive lure.
The new ones suck! I’ve bought 10 over 2 years and one swam decent even after trying to tune em.

With manufacturing variability it's hard to say. Trial and error is your best bet

Thanks Geoff for responding to me I appreciate it
Someone should continue making the “ foam” version.
Deps should honestly bring them back😂
Sick vid
Thanks for watching 🤙
Geoff, would you happen to know what the market is carrying for an original Deps 250 from 2002? TIA.
No clue honestly, someone would probably pay a hefty price for one
Hi what is the japanese song starting at 1.30 great tune

I live up north. How good are the 145 and 175?
Do not sleep on the 175. Ive caught 3lbers LM all the way to big stripers on the 175. Great size imo
Check out the 115..it's tiny, but great when the baitfish are small
The 175 is actually really legit, very similar action to the 250 at a much smaller size!
@@crazybassfisher thank you!!
Have yet to catch em on the 250 I’m to the point of giving up on it lol. Caught pike and musky on it tho 🤣
Don’t give up just yet dude! Keep at it and I know it’ll happen!
Anyone know if BB still does tuning? Reached out via Facebook to no avail recently
There's a few vids on how to do it yourself

I’m pretty sure he still does but he might be busy with life and things
