To be fair the bull elephant is the true king of the jungle, up to 8 tons there is nothing it fears, even full size crocs are no match for them when they snap at their trunks, with tusks that long they push anything around, as here it bulldozed his way across the river gently nudged the hippos because they know what will happen when he gets mad

I like how the elephant was calm yet dominating, didn't make any sudden movements or roar, & gave the hippos enough time to comfortably move out his way without much disturbance or chaos. Handled like a boss.

I don't understand why people refer to the lion as the "king" of the jungle have you ever seen a huge group of hippos stepping aside for a pride of lions to pass through their territory??
lion is called the kings because they don't have to do any work. The lioness hunts and the lions are the first to eat. A lion only works about 4 hours a day and rests for 20 hours. Only a king can afford such a life style. Also each lion has a territory of their own like kings. Strength doesn't mean anything. A king is not the strongest (or smartest) man in his kingdom. In fact, some are just lazy. The reason they become kings is because of their bloodline

This is a rare big Tusker. Usually the poachers would have killed a beautiful, majestic elephant before his tusks could grow to this length. I hope and pray he is still alive and commanding respect from all the animals by just appearing as he does at the hippo pond. Edrien Graham dude , lions are smaller then hippo's and are no match. Hippo's can easily kill lions because they are bigger , more aggresive and very territorial. Lions dont even dare to cross a river if there are so many Hippo's in the water.
A hippo has no chance against a elephant and certainly not againt one with big tusks.
One hippo can easily scare of a lion if it even come's close to a river.

I love how elephants are such badasses that they can just casually waltz into a pond of hippos, _the_ megafauna with the highest human mortality rate, and all the hippos can do is awkwardly shuffle out of the way.

Lions have killed elephants though. Mainly because
1. They work together in pride and only attack one elephant
2. Lions have the gift of sharp night vision unlike elephants so a pride of lions have an advantage in night time if they can separate an elephant

They know they will individually be squashed, but at the same time, a hippo is no laughing matter. They can weigh as much as 60% of an elephant.

Edrien Graham crocodiles don’t hunt adult elephants at least not successfully, when they snap on their trunks it’s because they don’t realize how big they are underwater and quickly give up the struggle. Lions rarely dare to pursue adult elephants, they’re far too dangerous , they typically target juveniles and sub adults in the dark or daylight hours.
