If you want emotional, I would definitely recommend their cover of "Imagine". I've seen it a thousand times and I still can't watch it without crying 😭
@@mikel8850 yes it was, which is why in a separate comment I mention the original video. I've seen some of them react to a live version or maybe it was audio, can't remember, but that doesn't give you the same heartfelt emotional feeling of the original PTX version.😉
Kevin Olusola (KO), the beatboxer, performs a solo cover (or Kover) of Marian Hill's Down which is spectacular. He plays the cello, saxophone, and piano; and, has appeared twice at Carnegie Hall. He speaks multiple languages including Mandarin. Kevin also has a beautiful tenor voice and graduated pre-med from Yale. It's not Christmas, but if you want to see how they take a traditional song and change it up watch their version of O Come All Ye Faithful.
I was just getting ready to comment the same thing. I just now discovered this Channel about an hour ago and have been binge-watching the Pentatonix reactions. As many pentaholic I just had this thing for watching people discover Pentatonix for the first time! It's so amazing and fun to watch. Welcome to the family. But yes you have to watch his cover of down. It is completely mind-blowing
The best descriptions I've ever heard about the 3 'main' versions of this song (Simon and Garfunkel, Disturbed, Pentatonic) are: The Simon and Garfunkel version reflected the sad situation we were in and facing. The Disturbed version reflected the anger and frustration we felt because we failed to address the problem. The Pentatonic version reflects renewed hope of overcoming and reminder of the warning.
I agree. I just feel mad when some people hear a cover of the song, and then refer to the Disturbed version as the "original". I even heard someone describing the Simon and Garfunkel version a "boring cover" of the original by Disturbed. 🤐 I didn't know time travel was real... 😁
Avi Kaplan, the low bass singer usually seen in a beanie cap, left the group about 7 yrs ago. The group's insanely fast-paced appearance and recording life was hard on him (he's normally a laid-back sit in the forest kind of guy) and his mother was seriously ill and contracts and promises kept him from taking time to be with her and his family. But he's pursuing a solo career now. Most of his work is along the Folk music line. Your ears will thank you forever to hear his original "Change On The Rise"!!! 🙀💥🔥🔥🎉 ua-cam.com/video/382BTxLNrow/v-deo.html The new guy is Matt Salee, and he's great! (But Avi is our first love)
Avi is great. It was horrible why he had to leave that’s for sure. But he loves his friends and family. The fact he helped find the person to replace him goes to show the king he is
THE most emotional song they’ve ever done, without question, is their cover of John Lennon’s Imagine. It’s also one of their best. I HIGHLY recommend it. Bring tissues though.
yep, Imagine, not Amazing Grace. seems to me, Amazing Grace is Performance, not theFeels Imagine is #allTheFeels If there's such a thing as a Least Faves list of PTX songs, Amazing Grace is on that list for me
@@THEQuantumBacon it might have something to do with the fact that I can't stand the song "Imagine", which Lennon confirms is an anthem to Communism in more than one interview... They do a beautiful version, but would you feel the same way if not for the messages in the video?
When you do "Carol of the Bells"...absolutely fantastic...in that video, Mitch actually sings for almost a minute without taking a breath...HE'S AN ALIEN !!
This group is my favorite no matter what they sing. There are phenomenal. You’ve got to listen to Mary Did You Know, Amazing Grace (my chains are gone), Bohemian Rhapsody, any song they sing and you’ll be blown away! Avi (bearded and beanie cap) left some time ago, Matt Sallee took over his replacement, Kirsten gas an electric voice, Scott starts this song, Mitch is the high male, and Kevin is the best boxer and also plays the cello and several other instruments. He too is phenomenal. Any songs they perform will give you goosebumps!
Avi is the former bass, “ the guy with beard” he left in 2017, he chose to leave for personal reasons, they’re still close. Avi does have a solo career now, he just started his European tour this week! Please check out the Prayer, Mad world is PHENOMENAL problem is awesome as well. They have 5+ Christmas albums!!
Unfortunately although Avi did initially leave the group on good terms they are no longer close 😕 😢 the politics of the rights to the music they created caused a rift after attorneys got involved! They had to scrap a whole album's worth of music they'd been working on for years and start over because they didn't have Avi's consent to record it! This caused a huge strain on their relationships! If you listen to some of the songs in the Lucky Ones album especially Happy Now you can hear how they had to overcome a lot and breakthrough to a new future! Avi is however still very close to Kevin 😊
@@kristagerry8505 oh ok. That’s sad, but yes I did hear that Avi and Kevin are still close (makes sense as they were roommates for years so their bond was probably that much more close, especially cause the trio was together for so long), although I did listen to an interview of Avi just in the last few days and I do think every thing is settled now.
@@kristagerry8505 I saw it on PTX news here on UA-cam. It’s the most recent video she put up. I don’t recall the name of the publication, they were based in the UK.
"Do they have a Christmas album?" They've put out one almost every year they've been in existence, so the holiday music alone is a deep rabbit hole! "What's Superfruit?" Scott and Mitch's side project! It's a lot of fun. If you're on TikTok you've heard the "six feet tall and super strong, we always get along" sound, and that's a Superfruit song
if you ever want more of a "mitch slap", their LIVE version of "Aha!" is absolutely outstanding. mitch hits high notes that are actually insane and the fact that it's live shows their skills! the version you should check out specifically is the one from Singapore, in the Star Vista. he goes crazy in that video :')
it is SO VERY MUCH FUN to watch you react to a group of glorious individuals creating as PTX does....thank you for your smile and your joyful comments...i'm excited for you to see what Pentatonix can do :D
Scott (The tall blonde that sings first) is my favourite. They are all great but he is my nr one. He can sing from a deep bas upp to really high notes. And his missle range is crazy. Not everyone notice that he takes over the bass notes when the bass is singing solo. Scott loves to help his friends shine. He is the glue in Pentatonix. I also love Matt. He has done a great job taking over after Avi left. He has an amazing tone. And his smile in Amazing grace? Wow. Well I love them all 💛 I would love if you reacts to one of their originals like Sing or Coffee in bed. Yes they have done alot of christmas songs. Superfruit is Scott and Mich from Pentatonix has a little sidething where they do covers and they do alot of fun spex. Please check them out to
If I have a favourite, it’s Scott. I think that’s because I’m primarily a rock/metal fan. Scott’s voice, imo, has the most rock potential. It’s just the vocal type that appeals to me the most. That said, they’re *all* absolutely incredible.
Hi, Avi, bearded bass singer in the beanie, now has an amazing solo career, well worth checking out. Mitch has made a stunning Billie Eilish cover of Your Power (if you want emotional). Superfuit is Mitch and Scott being super playful, from before Pentatonix. You can pick from any of Pentatonix covers, originals and dozens of Christmas songs, and you won’t be disappointed. Love your channel, and your reactions. Your enthusiasm for great music is compelling. Thanks.
Yes, everyone can sing on their own. And they have. Avi, the one with the beard has left and Matt is the new one. I do follow Avi, who has branched out on his own (originally due to family reasons.).. If you can please react to Avi Kaplan: Change on the Rise.
Personally, I am a fan of Avriel. In fact, I wanted to name my son after him because I am really, really a fan of him. Seriously, I love what he is currently doing, but I would love for him to return to the group or at least to do a cooperation
The "Guy with a beard" is named Avi, he left the group in 2017 and is pursuing his own work. Check out his song "Change on the Rise". It will drive your soul!
Simone and Garfunkel did an amazing original. Then Disturbed did a version that lets you hear and understod every word in the lyrics. Then Pentatonix has thos version that is a musical masterpiece. Im sure you heard it already but we Pentaholics are offen saying that Pentatonix doesnt do covers they do upgrades 😁 Love your reaction 💛
The group has a lot looks since forming in 2011. Kirsten and Mitch change their look in almost every video. Only line-up change is Matt replacing Avi in 2017.
I love your enthusiasm!! I think Say Something is a great choice, and also Imagine! Both require tissues... And they have a plethora of awesome Christmas songs!
@@Acadian_Proud unfortunately that is not true.....it was misinformation that was spread through the Fandom! It was actually Ben Bram that helped find Matt to replace Avi in Pentatonix! Matt has mentioned Ben asking if he was interested in auditioning and possibly joining the group.....
I forgot to add that, many of us PTX fans could hardly wait for this reaction, because we all know how it feels to be blown out of your mind with this version from Pentatonix. Enjoy!
I have to add this too. That is Matt and I get goosebumps every single time I watch this video. His voice is like butter and it fits so well in this song. He is amazing! There is such power in this song that happens the moment Kirsten is done singing her part, just listen!
Scott, Kirsten and Mitch went to High School together in Arlington, Texas. They were in chorus together. They all were in community plays some together and were on Broadway too. Scott went on to college for music and joined an A Capella group there. He came home and hooked up with Mitch and Kersten again and they formed a group to compete on a music show like the Voice. They needed two more members and found Kevin who was ready to go to medical school but chose music instead and Avi to join the competition. They won the 3rd season. I guess you know I love their music.
Matt's presence (bass) dates their videos. Avi left in Sept. 2017 and Matt filled in on the 2017 Christmas tour, then was hired as a permanent member in 2018. He has made his own place in the band. He is the youngest member of PTX. This is the only change in the lineup of the band. Kirsten and Mitch change their appearance regularly but there is only the five of them. And FYI, they do call themselves a band, not a group. Scott (baritone) once said their bodies are their instruments. So like any band, they do have instruments. Theirs just happen to walk and talk.
Mitch and Scott had their own side project called Superfruit ( now defunct). Mitch has his own solo side career as Messer, Kevin continues to make his own music and Kirstie had her own music as Kirstin. They all continue to fly in various directions but Pentatonix is still their main baby. And talking about babies-congratulations Kirstie and Ben on the new addition expected #soon!
As others have said, if you want emotional, you'll love their cover of John Lennon's Imagine(the original video). Also, for me, a few more of their songs that are emotional are "Amazing Grace," "The Prayer," and "Say Something." Being you like Mitch's voice so much, you should check out his solo cover of Billie Eilish's "Your Power," it's amazing!
1 change in 2017 Avi, bearded bass left, Matt Sallee is the new bass. Kirstie(like thirsty) or Kirstin. Her voice is so bright it cuts through like a laser. "Imagine", "The Prayer", "Amazing Grace", "Say Something" you get to hear the beatboxer sing in Imagine. They won one of their 3 Grammy's for "Carol of the Bells" Only 1 change Avi, bearded guy, left and Matt Sallee joined. Now the next closet A Capella ,to me, is Home Free try "When a Man Loves a Woman" or "Man of Constant Sorrow", or "Ring of Fire" (which has Avi in it) Love this man!!!
You have 10+ years of 1-2 album/ep releases per year and extra youtube videos to go through. Plus their solo/duo stuff. It's a proper rabbit hole with loads of wonderful content. You're in for a long and fun ride!
Funny you should say that about each of them able to have their own solo career. Avi Kaplan (Ah-vee) left in late 2017 for personal reasons and has a phenomenal solo career. The current bass is Matt Sallee. Please react to one of Avi's first solo originals called Change on the Rise. It's been featured in a couple of television shows. He has a new song called "I can't lie", and a couple other new tracks he's released on his upcoming LP entitled "First place I go" and All is Well". The LP is called Floating on a Dream. Pentatonix is amazing and as you said...each is super talented. Thanks for this reaction.
You are hilarious with your reactions. You have become one of my favorite to watch. If you love Mitch's voice you should react to their cover of the prayer he is on almost the entire time and his voice is amazing on that one
Mad World gets my vote for emotional. also, there is a buzzed (I think) video where they played a game of how many songs they could identify in 10 minutes or something like that, they blew it out of the water.
If you really want to hear harmonies, try their original, Run to You. There is no beatboxing, all five part harmonies. It was inspired by My Heart with You. They also do that one on their album, Evergreen. Five part harmony as well. Both are beautiful. Great reaction. 💕💕
This is one of my favorite Pentatonix covers, so I'm super glad to see your first time reaction! The newer bass singer is Matt, and he's been with the band for a couple years; if you like his style, you'll love Pentatonix's version of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch".
Avi Kaplan left the group amicably due to the pressures of their schedule. He needed to spend more time with his family i.e mom, who was sick at the time. Before he left, he helped choose his bass replacement - Matt. IMHO, could not have been a better choice !!
I was so sad when Avi had to leave the group. BUT... I got to be there for his last ever live concert performance with them! It was so amazing. They did this beautiful tribute to him up on the stage, and the group, and the crowd were crying. It was so emotional. We didn't even mind that we were seated outside and that it was raining on us the whole time. It was fantastic. I missed Avi being part of the group after, but he has made some wonderful solo music that you should definitely check out sometime!
I just joined your channel and am enjoying your reactions as I am also Mitch slapped everytime I hear his voice. Please listen to The Prayer, he sings Celine part as well as his own cover of Your Power by Billie Eilish.
Carol of the bells is amazing also avi left in 2017 and is now a solo artist with many great songs and Matt the new guy took his place as bass from then on.
Mitch and Scott together have a band/youtube channel called "superfruit". (because they lived together for a few years) They released one album and some awesome videos. You could watch their interpretation of defying gravity or frozen. Mitch shows his full vocal range there.
Another achapella group you might enjoy is Strait No Chaser. Especially their Christmas songs! I recommend their version of You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch.
They have had only one change of personnel since they started: Avi (ah-vee, their original bass, the bearded gentleman) left amicably in 2017 and was replaced by Matt, whom you saw here. (Although Mitch and Kirstin change their looks so often, sometimes reactors are fooled into thinking they've been replaced!) A good video of theirs that shows off Matt's personality is their cover of "Attention," a favorite of mine that doesn't get enough, er, attention. Your idea about "Say Something" as a good choice for an emotional song from them was spot-on. Definitely watch it. It includes some surprises from Kevin (the beatboxer). I love your reactions to Pentatonix! I subscribed just this week after seeing what you've done with them.
Imagine, The Prayer are both more emotional. Carol of the bells is wonderful. The challenge in that one is trying to find where Mitch breaths. There has only been one member change in ptx history. Avi ( Bass) left in 2017 for personal reasons. Matt Sallee joined as the new bass, the one in the white jacket. All others are the same. Kirstin and Mitch change their appearance frequently. So many to choose from. They have been performing for over ten years. Love your reactions.
You should definitely listen to their White Winter Hymnal. It is absolutely stunning! the coordination that they had to have for that music video is INSANE.
I am loving all your reactions, I am a fan of Kpop and PTX so seeing your reactions is amazing. I case you don't know the 5 members of PTX are: Scott Hoying - blond, baritone/tenor Mitch Grassi - Tenor/ silver tenor - the voice that amazes you every time Kirstin Maldonado - only female member Kevin Olusola - Our percussion - he also plays Cello and has an incredible voice Avi Kaplan - bass - Avi left the group in 2017, not long after bohemian rhapsody - our new bass is Matt Sallee.
First time i heared Pentatonix it was 'run to you'. It's the best most emotional one they did for me. The harmonizing ik that version is mind blowing. Just pierces the heart.
Their catalog is incredibly large. You can react to them for a LONG time lol They have several Christmas albums (they are known for their holiday music), most of what you’ll find are covers, but they also have original music. It’s mind blowing the amount of work they do. As everyone already mentioned, there has only been one member change. Avi was the original bass, and Matt is the current bass (from about 2017). Keep them coming!
For emotional songs either Image or Amazing Grace. As for Christmas, they do Christmas songs you have heard so many times and make them better (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Herald Angels Sing) . Carol of the Bells us unreal.
Avi Kaplan, the original bass, left the group in late 2017 due to family needs and the hectic tour schedule necessary for the group. He was replaced in early 2018 by the new bass (in this video), Matt Sallee. They are both very good singers, though in a different way. Enjoy all their songs, regardless of who the bass is in them. You mentioned Carol of the Bells. Their a capella version of this song is amazing; it will blow your mind. They have an extensive array of Christmas songs on several albums. They are so popular that their 2014 Christmas album "That's Christmas To Me" was the fourth best selling album in the U.S. that year. Not the fourth best selling Christmas album, but the fourth best selling of ALL the albums sold that year. And Sony once thought that an a capella group couldn't sell albums. I love your enthusiastic reviews. Keep it up. I'm a new sub.
I was totally going to recommend Say Something! Imagine is also a really emotional one that is so good. Other songs you should check out from them are Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Sing, Love Again, White Winter Hymnal, Light in the Hallway, and Standing By (Love Again, Sing, and the last two are also originals!). I also highly recommend checking out their origins on Season 3 of the Sing-Off. They have some really amazing ones there too and it is amazing to see how far they've come and where they started. As for other A capalla groups I highly recommend Voiceplay's Hoist the Colors and Home Free's Ring of Fire
Pentatonix does a mean" Havana". My two all-time favourite bands are Queen and Pentatonis. What Pentatonix does with their voices is pure magic. I love your reaction to their music. I hear them an they bring tears to my eyes, like you.
For a slightly different take on their a capella prowess, with no beat-boxing, try "Run to You" or "My Heart with You", or their version of an old Elvis song, "Can't Help Falling in Love".
Hello G.O.T. Loved your reaction and your enthusiasm. BTW, PTX are always intentional in every song, arrangement and choice of singer. PTX has had only one change of member - the main bass singer - Avi Kaplan who left amicably in 2017 and helped to select the replacement Matt Sallee. For this song Scott starts off so deep and strong; then Mitch comes in using his lower register, which is just golden, with a few high inflections; then Matt is do deep and warm; then Kirstie belting. Kevin the master beat boxer driving the rhythm with the vocal percussion, clapping and stomping. Their harmonies are superb. More PTX reactions please. I sent you a long list already. You are just scratching the surface of their catalogue, creativity, vocal skills and talent. For more emotions from PTX: Imagine, The Prayer, Amazing Grace, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Can't Help Falling in Love With You, Never Gonna Cry Again, My Heart With You, Say Something, Shallow. PTX Christmas songs are a whole other set of songs for you to do. Superfruit is Scott and Mitch as a duo - singing, albums, vlogs, comedic skis, collaborations - that is another rabbit hole!! BTW - they all do have solo careers - you are correct that they are individually all great singers. Mitch has work under the name and image of Messer.
please do "the prayer". Matt has been with PTX for a long time. he kicks ass. especially in Can you feel the love tonight. Avi is now a solo artist. Superfruit is just Scott and Mitch.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your reaction to one of my favorite groups. It puts the biggest smile on my face. Sending love and positivity from Germany. ❤
Check out their version of John Lennon's "Imagine". Amazing! Be sure to have a handkerchief at the ready. Same with "Say Something," which is among my absolute favorites of theirs.. Only one member has changed. Avi, the original bass (the bearded guy), left several years ago for personal reasons. It was a completely amicable departure as these folks are pure class. Avi was replaced by a new bass, Matt, who sings those gorgeous seismic low notes here. Sometime people newly discovering PTX think there have been more personnel changes, but that's just because both Mitch and Kirsten dramatically change their looks and style frequently. Superfruit is a project by Mitch and Scott. They do a lot of great collaborations and also a lot of more club-type dance music. They also do other things like games and jokes. Truly fun to watch. Everyone has solo work as well. Avi has been releasing his own stuff since he left and it really worth a listen. The one that will completely blow you away is Kevin Olusola's solo work. His stuff is otherworldly. Some people believe he may not even be human as there's nothing he can't do, and is known to frequently do many things all at the same time!
In related news, I absolutely love your joyous laughter when Matt does his octave slide! Also delightful is the Barbershop Quartet- like way in which Kirstie, then Scott, then Mitch sing "words - words - words" one after the other while each in turn reaches out a hand. The body language in this video is just so well done.
They were formed in 2011 to compete in an A Capella TV show, The Sing-Off that they won. Since then they have been releasing 2 EPs/Albums (including Compilation/Best Of albums) almost each year -> 1 non-Christmas and 1 Christmas ones... So they have tons of songs, covers and originals... You can just browse anything in their UA-cam channel that you like to react... Many of thems do not have music videos/audio only... but I have seem reactors reacting to those type of videos also...
I am absolutely loving your Pentatonix reactions!! Here are some suggestions for you to check out from them: “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” “Mad World” “Shallow” “The Prayer” “Imagine” “Say Something” “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” And for some fun ones: “Can’t Hold Us” “Sing” (which is an original) “Problem”
Pentatonix is just incredible, pick anything and u won’t be disappointed, I promise. Emotional songs: Mad World, Run To You (a gorgeous original), Mary Did You Know, Say Something. They’re just magical ❤️🙌
Different kinds of emotional ... _"Say Something"_ So plaintive and heart-wrenching! _"Amazing Grace"_ Like a chorus of angels come to Earth! _"90s Dance Medley"_ If this doesn't get you 'chair-dancing' ... I guess you've never been to a dance club! _"Mary, Did You Know?"_ An ethereally sweet song for the soul! BTW, the last one gives you a chance to listen to Kevin (their beat-boxer) do an entire verse, solo! So good! *Enjoy!*
You are a very enjoyable, animated, and passionate reactor, and not just for Pentatonix. I came as a Pentaholic and I'm enjoying the full channel, man. Keep it up. Two of the members of Pentatonix, Mitch who you know, and the blonde baritone Scott, also have a side channel from when they shared an apartment together called "Superfruit" (tongue in cheek reference to the fact that both are LGBTQ+). They play around a lot on the side channel, but they also do things that are more risque than Pentatonix's family-friendly brand reputation. Eventually... not yet... you're going to want to check out Superfruit's cover of Katy Perry's anthem, "Rise". They upgraded it with the help of three other LGBTQ+ vocal performers they knew from LA and their professional lives - Brian Justin Crum, Mario Jose, and Mary Lambert - they released Superfruit's cover of it in the early fall following the massacre at the Orlando queer nightclub, Pulse, back in 2016. Their rendition of the song is powerful for message, as well as for a vocal masterclass, and a further testimony to the arranging skills of Scott Hoying. Definitely worth a listen when you exhaust the 'big time' Pentatonix hits (or when you're just ready for a break). And don't forget to set a reminder for yourself - once we get back closer to Christmas, Pentatonix made their fame on UA-cam by upgrading standard holiday carols for years, so there's an entire songbook of their performances that are just Holidays related (and worth every listen).
The only change of singers happened when Avi Kaplan (the guy with the beard and long hair) left and Matt Sallee joined. In around 2017 they were scheduled to do a world tour, but Avi felt he needed to stay to take care of his Mom, who was ill at the time. He has a solo career and writes a lot of his own music. I love their live videos. I was privileged to see them in person in Phoenix, Arizona, USA this past September. They’re better live!!! ❤❤❤

Part of the refrain "6 foot tall a nd super strong" was a tik tok trend for a while
They compliment each other and never try to outshine anyone. They started so young too.
@@melissacoviello2886 do you have a link for the interview?
@@kristagerry8505 I saw it on PTX news here on UA-cam. It’s the most recent video she put up. I don’t recall the name of the publication, they were based in the UK.
@@melissacoviello2886 great, I'm familiar with the channel!
I'm not sure you are ready yet for the Aha Singapore reaction🥰!!!
I've got to agree with this recommendation! And Avi's blowing up the sound system & use of his overtones also has to be mentioned with this one! 💖
@@suzannebastien2918 I don't think he is ready for that yet either!
Okay! Happy to check that out ❤️
Mitch slap is the greatest way to describe what it's like hearing him sing. His voice is truly something to behold
it is SO VERY MUCH FUN to watch you react to a group of glorious individuals creating as PTX does....thank you for your smile and your joyful comments...i'm excited for you to see what Pentatonix can do :D
Wow.
Well I love them all 💛
I would love if you reacts to one of their originals like Sing or Coffee in bed.
Yes they have done alot of christmas songs.
Superfruit is Scott and Mich from Pentatonix has a little sidething where they do covers and they do alot of fun spex. Please check them out to
Hi. Agree with you all the way. They all are a league of there own, but Scott´s my favorite as well.
💯!!!
They are all amazing but I understand his voice is amazing to hear! ❤️❤️
If I have a favourite, it’s Scott. I think that’s because I’m primarily a rock/metal fan. Scott’s voice, imo, has the most rock potential. It’s just the vocal type that appeals to me the most.
That said, they’re *all* absolutely incredible.
When these guys competed on the Sing Off one of the judges called them acapella DJs from the future. Well put.
I have been so looking forward to this one!!!
Thanks.
Superfruit was actually during Pentatonix, not before..there's a video of them analyzing PTX reactions!!
so have WE, I clicked so fast when I saw your vid had posted :}}
The new member is Matt. Avi left in 2017 (?) and since then we have been blessed with Matt.
The "Guy with a beard" is named Avi, he left the group in 2017 and is pursuing his own work. Check out his song "Change on the Rise". It will drive your soul!
♥ Let's hear it for Scott holding down the bass like a beast while Matt sings his verse!!
"Run to You" and "Say Something" are def emotional ones. "Imagine" kills me every time, tho.
💖👍👍👍👍👍
All so so true! This version was amazing!
Much love ❤️❤️
Their version of "Amazing Grace" brings me to tears every time I hear it.
That is such an amazing mash up with m chains. The prayer is also incredible
The group has a lot looks since forming in 2011. Kirsten and Mitch change their look in almost every video. Only line-up change is Matt replacing Avi in 2017.
Kirstin
I get chills the ENTIRE time Kirsten is singing
I love your enthusiasm!! I think Say Something is a great choice, and also Imagine! Both require tissues... And they have a plethora of awesome Christmas songs!
Your enthusiasm is contagious. WOnderful reaction.
The new guy (Matt) took Avi’s place as bass. He’s just as amazing as Avi. Love the reactions as always !
Avi left the group for personal reasons (and the support of the rest of the group). Avi even helped the group find Matt.
Thank you for correcting the information. I appreciate it. 👍🙂
@@Acadian_Proud welcome
Matt is actually more amazing than Avi, since Matt isn't an asshole.
Imagine, Mad World and Say Something are definitely emotional and so, so well done. None of them will disappoint.
Another Grammy win for them was Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy…. No words just notes! Love your PTX reactions!
They said SUPERFRUIT is not defunct. Only on hiatus.
The pure joy that spreads across your face is beautiful to watch.
Radioactive
Definitely will be checking it out! ❤️❤️
One of the best ever! And it is a great showing of one of their originals!!
Oooh, my heart with you!😭😭😭
Okay, happy to ❤️
I absolutely adore both of those songs! Must listens for sure ❤️❤️❤️
This! I didn't really know them and some friends took me to a concert. I heard this live for the first time and just stood there in tears.
The vibrations in their voice pare so much that it brings emotions. Vibrations are so powerful! I want to FEEL music and pentatonics gives it to me.
This is one of my favorite Pentatonix covers, so I'm super glad to see your first time reaction! The newer bass singer is Matt, and he's been with the band for a couple years; if you like his style, you'll love Pentatonix's version of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch".
"A couple of years". I think he's coming up on 5 years this year?
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca October, yeah. It's crazy how time flies, right?
Try their original song “Sing.” It’s a great time, and it’s full of celebrity cameos. Truly a fun video that makes you happy.
Okay ❤️
I just joined your channel and am enjoying your reactions as I am also Mitch slapped everytime I hear his voice. Please listen to The Prayer, he sings Celine part as well as his own cover of Your Power by Billie Eilish.
Imagine is very emotional. Also, Kevin does have videos of him solo where he does all the parts.
Carol of the bells is amazing also avi left in 2017 and is now a solo artist with many great songs and Matt the new guy took his place as bass from then on.
They all have had some sort of solo project, even Matt (new bass) I think before he joined
One I really love is Havana. Try listening to Home Free, an all-male acapella group, and begin with "Man of Constant Sorrow"
Yes he needs to listen to Home Free
a good transition into Home Free would be Ring of Fire with Avi. awesome rendition.
I agree with everyone that "Imagine" is a wonderful cover with a touching message.
Their original song COFFEE IN BED really showcases Kevin's beatboxing.
All their songs are good original or covers
Honestly. He could just do a blind scroll and click, and it would be a great song or a fun vlog!
I love how taken in you are by PTX. That exact feeling is why so many of us are Pentaholics!
I am loving all your reactions, I am a fan of Kpop and PTX so seeing your reactions is amazing.
I case you don't know the 5 members of PTX are:
Scott Hoying - blond, baritone/tenor
Mitch Grassi - Tenor/ silver tenor - the voice that amazes you every time
Kirstin Maldonado - only female member
Kevin Olusola - Our percussion - he also plays Cello and has an incredible voice
Avi Kaplan - bass - Avi left the group in 2017, not long after bohemian rhapsody -
our new bass is Matt Sallee.
I love watching you watch them. The smile, the wide eyes, the awe! Excellent!
Say something is beautiful!! You will not be disappointed!💙 if you want some rapping try Can’t hold us!
If you want emotional....
Imagine
Amazing Grace
Mary Did You Know
The Prayer
Run to You
Same guys the only one that is different is Matt in the white coat. Kirsten and Mitch change their appearance a lot.
Of all of the songs you listed at the end for you to check out, the answer is:
YES.
The entire group is so incredible... but Scott NEVER fails to give me goosebumps
Mitch goes that for me, so I know what you mean!!!
Thiiiiiis
Say something is definitely one of their most emotional ones.
Their cover of “when the party’s over” is fantastic and more of a slowed down emotional song
You shoukd check out Voiceplay with "hoist the colors" or their bass Geoff Castelucci with "blackbird" or "far over misty mountains"
please do "the prayer".
Mary Did You Know also makes me cry. It's so beautiful, with depth of feeling.
I love his voice too. Just beautiful
I love how they show their versatility with the 90s dance song medley
They were formed in 2011 to compete in an A Capella TV show, The Sing-Off that they won.
Since then they have been releasing 2 EPs/Albums (including Compilation/Best Of albums) almost each year -> 1 non-Christmas and 1 Christmas ones...
So they have tons of songs, covers and originals... You can just browse anything in their UA-cam channel that you like to react...
Many of thems do not have music videos/audio only... but I have seem reactors reacting to those type of videos also...
Their Christmas songs will BLOW you away!! They all have a PTX twist to them!
Amazing Grace will bring you to tears.
They are each a Lead singer/harmonizer. Their balance, pitch & tone is flawless.
Watching you enjoy this music makes me feel better.... i get emotional and get into it like you do.
I am absolutely loving your Pentatonix reactions!! Here are some suggestions for you to check out from them:
“Can You Feel the Love Tonight”
“Mad World”
“Shallow”
“The Prayer”
“Imagine”
“Say Something”
“Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”
And for some fun ones:
“Can’t Hold Us”
“Sing” (which is an original)
“Problem”
I love this song....Disturbed and Pentatonix. Both sound beautiful!
Say something is awesome! Love their Christmas songs too......
Pentatonix is just incredible, pick anything and u won’t be disappointed, I promise. Emotional songs: Mad World, Run To You (a gorgeous original), Mary Did You Know, Say Something. They’re just magical ❤️🙌
Different kinds of emotional ...
_"Say Something"_
So plaintive and heart-wrenching!
_"Amazing Grace"_
Like a chorus of angels come to Earth!
_"90s Dance Medley"_
If this doesn't get you 'chair-dancing' ...
I guess you've never been to a dance club!
_"Mary, Did You Know?"_
An ethereally sweet song for the soul!
