    Man I can't wait to see a video about your hammer. I made my own version, but putting it on a post and strapping it a wall made it so much more stable

    The video is excellent in the specifics for this kit type product. The kit looks as if it is an awesome space saving type of tool. The power hammers do use a lot of room to use and in the normal garage space this is perfect. It is just right for any average beginner blacksmith. Roy does an awesome job making a great contribution to this trade/craft. Thank you Roy for all you do for the blacksmith community. I want to buy one I will be budget doesn’t allow to buy it yet. I’m saving for to buy one in the future.

    Hi Roy, I was happy to hear you talk about springs, I have heard the story about springs and antique engines. The new collector "a spring is a spring what is the big deal"? If it isn't the proper tention, it won't work properly, the only way to prove it is to take the spring off your engine and put it on their engine and it will run.
    I don't criticize your videos, I see educational information and food for thought. 🤔👍👏

    I have one of the hammer kits set up in my garage and it works great for me. It definitely is a nice to have and saves my arm for shaping work while it does all the heavy stuff. I love it.

    Truly well designed. I look forward to adding this to my shop someday. Regrettably I have other pressing priorities to address. Thanks for the video on tuning this tool.

    The option of a constant striker at the ready would be a bonus in any shop. I hope the best for you and yours. 🤞🙏

    I got one without the air assist, How big of a compressor would it take to run this effectively?

    If I wanted to mount your kit on a 4x4 that is fastened to a concrete floor with a flange and some bolts, would I need to stabilize the top of the 4x4? Or would it be sturdy enough with just the bottom flange?

    • @ChristCenteredIronworks
      @ChristCenteredIronworks  Рік тому +1

      I personally would suggest that in that configuration you use a 6×6 timber And the flange made of 1/4" angle iron for Best results...

    • @ChristCenteredIronworks
      @ChristCenteredIronworks  Рік тому

      This would make it very sturdy

    It would probably kill my 50 liter aircompressor by running all the time. This is also to keep in mind if you didnt already say it. In Germany you cant find something like this anyway. The hammer itself is awesome! Greetings!

    Has anyone built a 2x4 mount that isn’t fixed to the wall? I’m dealing with a cinderblock wall and I don’t think tapcons on a 2x4 would be the best option. Since it’s also a garage, I would love to be able to move it away when it’s not in use too.

    • @ChristCenteredIronworks
      @ChristCenteredIronworks  Рік тому +2

      My suggestion would be to mount some angle iron to the wall permanently and then attach the hammer and it's 2×4 construction to the angle iron with some removable bolts 🙂

    I personally think you have a well thought out design that serves a niche for the reasons you have started. It’s sad you have to deal with detractors that perhaps don’t have the knowledge that you have!

    For now we are on a tight budget -- that being the case i see a lot of things i don't buy and do make myself.
    This is not a tool I would try to make myself. I know enough to predict that the trial and error, time and wasted material would far exceed the cost of the kit for me.

    Don't worry about the haters, haters gonna be haters no matter what! Focus on the good and let them go! Focus on the craft and the family and your business. Technically it is a power hammer, either powered by foot, or air. Just not a power hammer they want it to be.

    Well, it also won't propel a 230 grain projectile one mile, but that's not what it was designed to do. No, it's not a power hammer, it's not an inline design, but it does exactly what it was built to do. And rather well, from what I've seen.

    "Consider the sources"...a phrase I haven't heard since 1985 when critical thinking was an actual thing. I wish I had a real shop to mount this. Meanwhile I must muddle through. Great responses! Critics gonna criticize, ignorants gonna pretend to know. That's all

    Bro, don't pay attention to the haters. Anyone that knows anything will know that you can't buy anything for the price of materials!!!! Even if it DID only cost a hundred dollars in parts, that has nothing to do with price! I can turn eight dollars in lumber into a hundred dollar bowl! I can turn a thousand dollars in steel into a three thousand dollar repair!!!
    My point, Don't give the ignorant people any of your time! Those are moments you can never get back!!!!
