Nice walk through of functions. Our sound man used this at our last gig and recorded 32 channels out to a Mac with ProTools. Recording came out flawlessly,, simple setup. Mic pres are super clean.
This is great But I have a question tho Is it Good for for kick drum to be on the mains or only on the subs Also what crossover filter do you recommend if the kick is supposed to be on the mains
Can you explain your thought process behind mixing the vocals last? I normally build a mix by starting with the most present parts, so I don't have to fight to fit the important channels into a mix at the last minute. I struggle to think of a time when I've ever wanted to place lead vocals in the back of a mix.
Doesn't look like he's gonna answer, but I can give my thoughts on that subject. I like to start with the foundation, getting the drums to sit well with the bass, then work my way up to guitars and keyboards. It's not that vocals are the least important in a mix, it's quite the opposite. Once I have everything else set, I can adjust that overall balance and layer the vocals over the top of the mix. Once the instruments are balanced, I can use DCAs to quickly adjust balance as he was demonstrating in the video. I have a Behringer X32 console at the venue I work for and it's essentially the same as the Midas M32, the interface and looks is slightly different, but the software is the same between the two consoles.
Great Video! I'm thinking about purchasing this desk for my studio/mastering house. However, I'm having a hard time finding answers to a few questions I have. If I could get my hands on one I could probably figure it out fairly quickly but there's none to be found where I'm located. If you wouldn't mind answering a few questions that would be fantastic. The BIG question ...Will this desk record 32 tracks to DAW or Flash drive simultaneously? If so, at what bit rate and resolution i.e. 44.1, 48, etc? Also, what DAW were you using when you tracked this? Thx in advance for your help.
Yeah, you just need to select the routing in the home page to "Card Out" as the Midas has an inbuilt 32 I/O interface (USB 2.0). Also for the resolution, yes it depends what you choose. But it does change if you alter the M32 Card to either MADI or DANTE. For the most part, just select the resolution in the console to match that of your DAW.
I wanted to build on what the others said, I've personally used these functions, very easy to do, you can also playback those channels through the board again for training, practice, virtual soundcheck, etc.
Cameron Lawson no.. i means.. trick/technic of eqing instrument like a you do that.. so.. where you get the sgnal frequency graph fdback in prametric.. from the rta mic?? you eqing the drum instrument very fast .. just cut and add where is freq graph show it..
Cameron Lawson yupss.. just for double checking only.. before and after.. bcause im a amaetur engineer.. not enough expriance.. so i want this for my reference if i mixing in any situations.. so thanks very much cameron.. if i have any problem.. i contact you for helping.. hehe
@@KertinaProduction M32 has more FX - multibands, compressors, decent verbs, deessers etc, excellent handy remote app, better build quality and overal sounds better imo. Even the label on it is way more imposing.) imo.
I'm sure you will have found it by now ...but under Routing, change the inputs from 'Local' to 'Card' (e.g. change Inputs 1-8 from 'Local 1-8' to 'Card 1-8)'. Don't forget to change them back for the next gig!

yes, you can record all 32 channels in DAW, you can choose your bit rate, you can also record 2 track to usb.

How’s this mixer compared to the new studio live III?
This is the MIDAS M32
like night and day
sergio belenkoff can you please explain it a little bit?

Studio live is like Toyota Camry and midas m32 like Mercedes Benz. also price
How did you get the track to play back on the channels?
Gifted hands ? I’m assuming he has a laptop plugged in via USB and is routing the tracks in the DAW into each separate channels

Somebody get me those multitracks please 🥺
Nice, but piano L/R channels are swapped here :P
Should be R/L.
😂
swapped where??
That depends if you want the pianist or the audience perspective like the drums.
write in top or bottom so you know if you want the hight keys on left or high keys on right or vice versa or the bottom end.
man the "highs" in this video literally makes the video kinda unwatchable.

Video was great but you should put a low pass on your voice.
Please spanish!!
that song made me puke a little

James Thomas I disagree with you. The vocals need to be tailored to the rest of the mix to sound good
You're totally backwards from industry standards. Drums first. vocals last. blend as needed.
