How I diagnosed the turbo failure on my Tiguan: these turbos have two failure modes. The first is the wastegate armature will get sloppy where it attaches to the wastegate arm. In later years there is an improved connector to the wastegate arm. The second failure mode is the bushing through which the wastegate arm rotates. It'll get sloppy. I took off the belly pan, crawled under so I could get my hand up to the wastegate arm, and I could feel it move in the bushing.
Rick. SOS. Workong on my daughters 2012 volkswagon cc. Bad oil leak from back of engine near turbo. I was hoping it was oil lines or gaskits to turbo. Nope. Its comming from where the turbo mounts to engine manifold. Steady leak when warmed up. Is that the turbo that would leak like that. Thank you. Brisn. Seaford Long Island
You you did a lot of unnecessary removing of stuff of hoses and lines that you didn't have to do you didn't have to lower the engine to get it out or move it forward you could just lifted it up from the top

I'm looking at a 2012 tiguan 4motion turbo replacement. Does the bevel box get in the way of removal?
No you just have to have it really loose but I always remove it cause kinda acts like a wedge and makes it harder to come out

I had customer order it from Amazon it was a OEM brand or the borg Warner I chose there’s a oil line and coolant line kit too
