    Hi Amy & Wes, not sure where you found the energy from to film whilst being poorly but thank you as it was another great vlog. We've had our boat for 5 years but only became liveaboards last June so this is our first winter. Just thought I'd pass on a tip that I've found that really helps with condensation. As I'm sure you already know, as all experience boaters constantly say "ventilation is the key". It looks like we have the same windows as you but I found having the windows open was far too draughty/cold. What I found is by putting a clothes peg on the side bracket of each window it acts as a wedge. This means that by moving the peg up/down it allows me to alter how much the window is open. I've found that by having it open enough to get my smallest finger in the gap it has greatly reduced condensation, hope that makes sense.

    • @BoatTime
      @BoatTime  2 роки тому

      Thank you! I think some of it was fuelled by copious amounts of medicine 😅 Oh wow 5 years! Ooo that's a great tip, we'll have to give that a go as like you said open all the way can sometimes be too chilly! Really appreciate the tip! x

    Awwww, so sorry you two were so poorly, but what a great vlog you made of it, bless you! Loved the Timelapse sequence:
    I put my doggie out of the side-hatch for a wee on a long lead last thing a night when I’m moored up on the towpath in dark places because I’m scared of the dark. It works a treat! 😂xx

    So sorry you were sick. Great vlog anyway though. You two are completely adorable.
    Homemade hash browns are time consuming but when done well are so delicious. The trick is to get the oil in pan fairly hot before adding All of the potato at once, then smash it down firmly so it's like a pancake. Don't mix it around. After it gets brown on that side, flip it over, smash again and leave it until it's brown on that side. Turn the heat down and cook for a while longer on both sides to cook the inside and keep outside crispy. If you can't get it to flip all in one piece the first time, you can cut it in half or quarters and then flip them but try to not let it fall apart and push it back together and smash to make it stick. Oooo, now I want some!
    Good luck. Kisses to the sweet Rufus puppy!

    Amy, Wes, so sorry you got sick just after New Year. I hope you are both better now as it's February. Can't have been nice for you. Rufus was a good boy going for his wee out of the duck hatch on a long lead, what a brilliant idea that was. Hoping Rupey was OK too. I now fancy trying tinned pears for tea one day. I think Wes may have created something here. All the very best of wishes to you both. Take Care.

    Feel so bad for you going through that. Hope your both back to normal. Did any family or friends have it too? The van you were behind in the beginning looks like Rufus on the back doors had to do a double look. Cute dog but Rufus would have made a even better photo. Is there a story about Wes and the nail polish? I know the timing worked out great for getting the new fridge sure it would have been much more difficult with out it. Your Christmas and Boxing Day holidays looked so enjoyable thanks for sharing. My mom used to make home made hash browns she would make small cubes with potatoes add onion and anything else you like salt and pepper and a good bit of paprika cook in a iron skillet on stove slow and it tasted wonderful. Would take 30 to 45 mins but definitely worth it. Sorry your kind of stuck for the near future but you can visit with family and friends I hope I bet in the end you will enjoy the time and couldn’t ask for a better spot having water and toilet so close. Sorry I went on so long. Best wishes and speedy recovery. Susan

      We're both better now, thankfully! We've had our relatives catch it, but not recently, so thankfully it looks like we didn't spread it to them! Wes likes nail polish from time to time, just a style choice really! 😊 Oh wow that's a great idea with the hash browns, we'll have to give that method a go some time. Ours were a little... chewy 😂 We're glad at least to be stuck near family, so it's not as bad, it just felt daunting given that it was so unexpected. Thank you as always Susan! x

    This might be a stupid question from a non boater but why do you run the fridge when you are not on the boat. Wes was saying how cold the boat was when you got back to it, so I would have thought that any food that might need the fridge would be ok. I suppose that you might have a freezer box! Take care and love the vlogs

    Maynards wine gums Wesley
    If you have a cough and cant sleep because of the tickle thats makes you cough
    Chew a couple of maynards wine gums it puts a lovely coating over your throat and you will get a good few hours sleep then by the time the wine gums wear off have another couple of wine gums and have some more hours sleep.
    It only works with Maynard wine gums.
