    Little shoots... I dare not swear in case youtube moans at me. Thank goodness they did not actually jump on the boat. We've had kids jump on the back and kick the doors then run off. Think this is some weird craze, they do it to houses too. It does unsettle you though. I can handle myself, but no way do I want to take on 10 or so kids who are bored and likely think they have nothing to lose or have simply given up. Glad you got past them with no damage and you were able to find an ok spot for the night.

    • @BoatTime
      @BoatTime  2 роки тому +1

      Haha yes! Not sure how UA-cam handles profanity 😅 They were shouting saying they were going to jump… it was pretty intense but glad to get away unscathed. It’s sad to know that’s how they entertain themselves by distressing others. But we carry on regardless! 😊💪🏻

    What a brilliant idea, jumping onto the top of a narrowboat as it's about to go under a bridge! The logic defies me.

    I know this is an older video, but as someone who has anxiety. Something that my friend told me really helped - never get too tired too hungry or too thirsty.
    Hearing you say that you were thirsty after hearing the tap run reminded me. Eat rest and hydrate ❤
    🙂🐿❤️🌈

      You can totally remove anxiety by not eating! I started fasting a year ago, and I'm off all bipolar meds and bpd meds, as well as getting rid of fibromylagia and reversing type 2 diabetes. Fasting focuses the mind. We aren't meant to eat three or more times a day. I eat once a day maximum and feel great 👍

    What's a shame is them kids most likely have lovely parents who would be mortified to see this behaviour. Sadly, this is the next bunch of adults. The good thing is most of them will learn (we can hope) and become better people.
    The main thing is you guys and the boat is okay.
    Love the vlogs of usual, so real life... dishes everywhere etc haha. When I first moved into my first flat many years ago, it was so small, I was like yer I'll keep this clean........ Nope! the smaller the space the bigger the mess :) But it's a long day for you having to fuel, empty, top up, move, drama, then clean........ nah that can wait till tomorrow :) Chippy!!!

    • @BoatTime
      @BoatTime  2 роки тому +2

      That’s very true. I think a lot of kids can be really different around their friends than at home. Hopefully the majority will turn out good in the end 😊 like you say, we’re safe and unscathed and that’s all that matters!
      Haha yep! It’s messy more often than not, so we’re keen to show that as much as possible! At least it’s quick to tidy up as well as make messy 😅 when in doubt, get chips 😂 x

I hope Rufus has fully recovered. Hoping Rupey is OK too. Congratulations on winning the mooring prize, even though you would not be able to use it. Many congrats for finishing off one of 2 loans, you must be so pleased about that. I enjoyed your shopping trips too. Did you go to get chips then? I hope you have a much better week this week. Washing clothes is so easy in a house compared to on a boat, it must be the number one orrible task to do, then trying to dry or air it. Isn’t there somehow a way to build an airing cupboard or rack around the heater flue? Well done for showing us the warts and all of life on a narrowboat. Yes get yourselves a trolley to save your back.

    It seems that since you both do lots of sitting at the computer, especially Wes, it would be advisable to do some specific back exercises, strengthening and stretches now so that you don't get serious back problems or get injured when doing the strenuous boat duties. I don't know if anyone has mentioned to you but most of those scruchy type hoses are not considered safe for drinking water, as the elasticiser in the rubber slowly leaches out into the water. If yours said it's fine for drinking use, then there is no reason to think its not. But also I would not like the idea of someone having potentially issue with their drinking water, and I did not say something.

      @@BoatTime It's hard to know what most of those filters do/don't filter out. I have one on the filler hose, on my motorhome. No idea what it filters out, but I guess it filters out somthing. I know since I've started using it, I nolonger get that odd film, you sometimes get on your tea. So that's good.

    It’s no coincidence that we ban parents rights to give their kids a clip around the ear and the first generation reach adolescence and think they’re untouchable, I don’t play by those rules. Put me , my belongings, my family at risk and in danger and I’ll do whatever is necessary to defend the situation. You have the patience of saints!

    I’d throw that hose away, get a food grade hose, put it on a hose lock winder, and get an in line tap, which you can turn on and off near your your water filler. Those extendable hoses are not supposed to be used for drinking water.

    Hey guys, scary situation really as you could have took action physically or verbally and to be fair it would have probably resulted in many more projectiles being thrown, the youth really don't care as they know they are untouchable, needless to say I think keeping calm was probably the best thing as they could have followed along beside you. My wife and I really respect how you handle your difficult situations. On another note, what broadband do you recommend for Cc'ing? And costs per month please? We are getting there slowly, just waiting for the right boat to come along. Good luck!

    I hate the trouble you had. I would love to move over and do it full time just like you and bring my adult son along. I don’t think he would enjoy it as much as I would. But a woman alone I worry about things like what happened to you. As far as I know your not allowed to have a weapon in England? Hope that is your one and only problem ever again. Congratulations on the prize what a nice thing to do be regifting back. With the new kettle could you heat the milk with out the top on so you can see before is boils over? Please show us the bird feeder on the next video I love the idea. Do the marinas sell duck food? Can’t wait to see y’all out on the go again visiting new places.I to enjoy looking into different stores seeing what random it’s they might sell. Stay safe out there. Susan

      Hope you get to do it one day, whichever way you do 😊 we have lived on the boat for 10 months and this was our first bit of trouble.
