I just got my Honda e:Ny1 1 week ago. Before I had 10 years experience with other BEV (Tesla, KIA, BMW, Volvo). And... that's the reason why I ordered this Honda! So far totally satisfied!!!
I got the Topaz Blue one for £26.7k. AN AMAZING CAR for that price, so what you may have to charge a bit more. But for everyday, what a car for that price. The range is above 200 on motorways, only gos as low as 160 on freezing cold days and putting your foot down.
That's an impressive discount! Not sure about 200 miles on a motorway, you'd have to be driving at about 40 mph in spring with no climate control on to achieve that kind of range 🤣
I have it on Eco, in last weeks warm weather, no air on and it’s anywhere between 190-200 from Spalding to Grays Essex, Not great but for 26K I’ll just charge it a few more times 😅 happpy days !!
Driving more slowly will reduce consumption, yes. Optimum speed for range whilst still making good progress is typically around 55 mph. You can, of course, just drive faster and charge a bit more often though. Depends on what you prefer!
Just ordered mine for 289 per month. Sat in the car and its quality. My wife and 2 boys loved it. Had to take it in white but its got a nice shimmer and looks nice.
I actually live in The Cotswolds and recently had this car for a days test drive. I found no issues with it on country driving and loved it. I'm actually ordering mine tomorrow 😊
@@BuckleUpShow I almost went for the Obsidian blue but my current Civic is Obsidian blue and time for a change. The Obsidian is a lovely colour though!
Test drove this car today. I prefer the Renault Scenic E-Tech. The regen on this Honda was causing it to be jerky even with it turned right down. No heat pump either.
Honda definitely missed a trick by not including a Heat Pump on this model. Whether you get on with the regent system or not is quite dependent on your personal preference. We hope to get our hands on the new electric Scenic soon for a full review!
Hey everyone, i am looking to get my home charger installed for my Honda (waiting for delivery), does anyone know how long the standard charging cable is that comes with the Honda ENY1 in the UK ? I am trying to figure out where best to install the charger box & was hoping the cable is 5 meters at least. Thanks
Have a look at other reviews regarding the low hung battery back..looks so bad..WTH was Honda thinking, i mean the wheel arches are hard to unsee but that battery pack could easily lead to problems over rougher roads or even some speed bumps.Question is..if any damage caused will Honda cover it?
This is not a vehicle designed to be taken over rough off-road surfaces. Whilst the battery pack does hang slightly low, it still has slightly more ground clearance than a car such as the Audi TTS. Therefore driving over rougher road surfaces and speed bumps should not be a problem - Honda will therefore be very unlikely to cover damage caused by a user driving in an inappropriate manner for the road conditions.
Just ordered an advanced in this colour for 1k deposit 299 a month on PCP. For the spec on offer there is absolutely nothing on the new car market that comes close to that deal. At 42k no thanks but under 300 a month be stupid not to consider it. In terms of range anything near 200 is good enough for me. Lived with a mokka e for 3 years with a real world range of around 100 miles in winter. Only critique i have, and never thought I'd say this, its too fast for the type of car. In sport mode the pick up is comical. I wonder if they dialed it down would it achieve better range? The amount of old people who are likely to buy this car and shoot out a junction into a hedge probably explains its group 40 insurance bracket! I'm also willing to bet if they streamlined those wing mirrors they could add 10 miles.
The car needs to be unlocked, and then it should automatically be released. If you're using a 3-pin adaptor and charging from a socket at home, you may also need to turn that charger off to allow it to be disconnected.
We currently have a Škoda Enyaq and looking to add a second EV to our drive. The PCP deals on these are fantastic, a lot of car for your money. But my question is … will it fit a golden retriever in the boot? 👀
excuse me... where are you navigating to!? 🤣 I think the range estimates are pessimistic. If it was a Vaxhall Mokka it would be saying 260 miles. There's no way it shouldn't easily be able to crack 3 miles/kwh.
@@BuckleUpShow I have. It looks like the powertrain has some drag. Yeah, they should have done a better job. Edit: Just realised the lack of a heat pump seems to drastically effect range too.
Thank u 4 all that-i had done all that so I looked at handbook and it has a tiny black button to the right-so I pressed that and heho it immediately released it.Its only tiny and quite dark and as I also had my eye on football tonight didn't see it. How did honda manage to get such a low range with that size battery and power output? As the owner of the new kona ev, we have a bigger car, touch more power, slightly smaller battery and yet a proper 240 mile range ?
Hey everyone. I have just ordered mine & read it has a maximum charging speed of 78kw. Does that mean I won't benefit from the super fast charging points like the 100kw for example? As charging is capped at 78kw?
Yes, unfortunately the max charge speed is 78kW. This means that you can max out a 50 kW charger and nearly fully utilise a 100 kW charger, but there will be no point in trying to use a charger that offers speeds higher than that as you will not see a faster charger than you would on the 100 kW one 🥲
Generally tempted by one of these with the current deal, Honda have on. The only thing that concerns me compared to other EV's, is the gap between WLTP range and what you seem to get....
If you can make a real-world range of 160 miles work for you (which is definitely possible, unless you're regularly doing round trips of over that distance), plus if you can charge at home, this is actually a car that will fulfil your needs.
there's a ENS1 that is china car, same thing+ has a bit more range, lacks android auto i think and heated steering wheel, but same car, costs 25.000$ for the full package, less than 20k$ if going for the base model

I think the car is average to drive but it's my wife's car and she liked it. It's a 30k not 40k car very overpriced like most new cars
Did you get the £11500 discount on a factory order car? (£7k dealer, £3.5k Honda Fin. Services) What is the lead time please? I'm incredibly tempted with one of these, but don't really want to change right now - hoping for a long ish lead time
The range should undoubtedly be better for the list price, and a Heat Pump (even as an option) would be logical. However, given the level of discount available on the car, it does allow you to overlook those problems a little.
This would be a great car if it were only competing with Toyota; unfortunately, there are tons of other far better options. Even Nissan has more interesting options with the Ariya and Leaf. Perhaps Honda is relying on their hardcore fanbase to replace their gasoline HR-V with this in the future while not losing out on their YoY with their financing options. I can't see people who aren't already big fans of Honda getting this car over the others. Personally, I think an electrified CR-V would've been a better base for this price, but they probably didn't want all the sales to go towards that just yet.
I think that, ultimately, the thing that will sell these is the surprisingly good monthly financing offers that are available to try and shift them. It's not an objectively bad car, and in some areas it's actually pretty good vs rivals) but there aren't enough stand out features to make a buyer who is more interested in cars choose this over a competitor.
@@BuckleUpShow Right, it'd be an easy decision for people who are too scared to try new brands with good financing. Ultimately, the biggest downside of this car seems to be pricing. I've just bought one having never owned a Japanese car, let alone a Honda. As @BuckleUpShow states, it's the finance deals that are doing it. I'm paying £300 a month over 36 months with a £1000 deposit. No other PCP deal comes close.

Yes, thanks to the EU all car chargers are standardised in the UK

We don't have freeways here in the UK, but we did test the adaptive cruise on a mixture of roads similar to freeways, where it performed well.
