Excellent work George, that plants called Himalayan Balsam, get yourself back down the river next summer before its flowering & pull it, bag it & take it away. And make sure you get the roots out as it will regrow at the drop of a hat.
Too much Himalayan Balsam? It has almost been cleared from the Kent in Kendal & above. Also it's been cleared from between Crook O'Lune & Halton where there was a field full of the stuff on west bank. It can be done, especially if you get to it before it flowers, nothing is impossible if you put the hours in, same goes with fishing George.
Nice one guy's,that plant is called himalayan balsam, you are right as it is a invasive plant because it causes erosion on river banks as it dies off due to its stem being very hollow, its kind of cool how its seeds explode though when touched 😂👍🏻

Thanks for watching John! Yeah I reckon the culprit is a really big trout, there must be some in there somewhere. Based on the size of lure those went for, a massive trout would easily go for a fish twice the size. All good on my end too, hope you and your family are well!

Hi, I know from some of your videos that I've watched that you care for the fish by crimping the barbs and handling them carefully. Have you ever considered using single hooks instead of trebles? The hook up rates are comparable and cause a lot less injury to the fish. There are barbless varieties available (Area Hooks).
I've considered it mate but I don't think theres much difference in my personal opinion. With one hook there's more pressure on a single hook point which will go right through a fishes mouth easier than if the force was spread across two which could just lodge in. With barbless I dont have any issues unhooking either! Not saying this is the most accurate scientifically, just my opinion!
I use singles all the time catching a variety of different species and don't have the problem you mention. When you fly fish you are using singles and I'm sure you don't experience the problems you mentioned. Give the singles a try....
@@Bazzabilo you should be really using singles full stop, its not about experience, ive been angling for over a quarter of a century, i still have fish that swallow a bait and its a mercy to kill them
@@whitetroutchannel I’ve been at it for 29 years too and never sent a fish back belly up. Never felt the need to use singles either, debarbed trebles for me 👍🏼

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
Great video again Sir. May I ask how you manage to fish so many rivers? All the ones near me have club rights. I'm guessing you buy a day ticket for the beat? Rich
I bet those Chubs would make some of the best deadbaits for Pike that you could ever find, over there. Indigenous baits will catch the biggest Pike. Of course Trout is another great bait, but not always legal.
