    This plane looks Bad-ass!
    It’s weird how much I love aviation and flying, but I have zero interest in becoming a pilot. 😅
    I flew as aircrew on the mighty C-130 and the Falcon jet over 24 years in the USCG and I have so much admiration for good pilots, but I just don’t feel like I would have the passion and dedication to be a good pilot. I know I’m capable, but I think if you’re going to do it you have to do it for the right reasons.
    Aviation channels like this are more than enough to satisfy my interests. Great job!

      Well I have a lot of jumps out of C-130's. Maybe it was one of yours! In those days of jumping out the back, I decided while that was cool, I eventually wanted to be up front. Thank you for your service to this Country!

      @@ioptimizerealty thank you Sir, and same to you!
      I was never lucky enough to participate in a jump flight. The USCG doesn’t get a lot of them, but every once in a while we’d get a football game flyover with jumpers. When I was stationed in Kodiak there was a SEAL team that would jump from our planes on training flights, but it unfortunately never landed on my duty day.

      You can get right up to the 270 knots indicated and maybe a few knots over, but you quickly pull power if you go over. That can even happen when the autopilot is trying to hold airspeed, which is possible in the HondaJet. It can bounce up a few knots and then right back down.

    Thank you for your service to the country. I enjoy this video. I’m about to retire from 25 years as a first responder, and also about to take my private pilot checkride. I was very intrigued by your special forces Scuba badge. One of the reasons I want to fly is because I am an avid diver and former instructor. I’d love to be able to fly to cool dive locations. Again, thanks for your service and the great video.

    • @ioptimizerealty
      @ioptimizerealty  8 місяців тому

      David, thank you for the thank you :-). Of the things I have done in my life, SF Scuba is one of the top. It is fairly unsung outside the military. When I went through, all the services elites that wanted to be scuba qualified went through Army SF Scuba, except of course the SEALS, which had their own. It was the toughest school, yet the fairest I have seen. They had zero politics and everyone, regardless of rank, was treated the same. Very tough, yet the instructors were very professional. No screaming. Nope, just do the task to their high standards or quit or get dropped. Only about ⅓ graduated and just to get in, you had to already be in an elite unit. Don

Wonderful to ride along with you again, especially in the busy NYC airspace--where at 4:30 the Honda Jet exceeds 4,500 fpm of climb :-) Thank you--enjoyment and safe travel always :-) Oh, BTW, I remember watching lightly loaded B747-400 aircraft on FR24 climbing at over 5,000 fpm during the short 1-hour flight from YSSY to YMML! #Bringbackthe747

      First, thank you for the thank you. Next, when you start, you absolutely need to start with something like a Piper Warrior or Cessna 172. There is a lot to learn. Don't rush it. Enjoy it. As you build experience you can move up in aircraft, but fly what you are comfortable flying and really know how to fly. Recently there was the loss of a UA-camr, Tennessee Girl and her father. Tragic, but in my opinion avoidable. She simply was not ready for that level of plane and also was reliant on the autopilot. Sadly, she didn't understand her autopilot either. Learn to hand fly completely and comfortably without an autopilot. Enjoy the sense of you controlling the plane and the knowledge that you can handle the plane without an autopilot. Wishing you luck on your journey. Don

    • @ioptimizerealty
      @ioptimizerealty  8 місяців тому +1

      Great question. That happens when I program in a descent. Then, as I approach the TOD (Top Of Descent) it is telling me to prepare to descend. You can use the VNAV option on the autopilot and it will precisely follow a vertical path to your final descent point. If you do, you then have to manage the power to avoid over or under speeding. Because of this, I prefer to use FLC (Flight Level Change), that we shortened to "felch". That then descends at the speed I want. I still must manage the power to increase or decrease the rate of descent, but if I get busy, I don't have to worry that I have an overspeed or underspeed situation. Don

      Mark, of course it depends on your mission and budget, but I am 6' 1" and have plenty of room in the cockpit. I don't think you'd have a problem being 6' 5".
      In the back it is relatively roomy. 4 guys, 200 lbs each can sit and will not be touching knees. The only thing that is a bit tight is the potty area.

      Brad, interesting tip. I will see what I can do. I am sure you know, there is a lot of other radio calls going on. You have to just train your mind to pick out what is relevant to you. The fun really begins when I listen to two radios at once, like listening to ATIS, while monitoring Approach. It's an acquired skill. Don

    • @ioptimizerealty

      You'll notice that we put the video into "Warp Speed" during taxi. A lot gets cut out during that time and after too, so what probably happened is some of the audio got cut out of the video. We frankly cannot fit the entire flight into videos that people would be willing to watch (like over an hour to hours long), so we cut the videos down a lot. That is why we put a disclaimer in at the beginning to say "Flights are edited for Time, all checklist are completed prior to takeoff". Fly safe.

      You are so right, and the first one to catch that! We use Gary, Indiana as it is way less expensive than any of the Chicago airports. Coleman Aviation at KGYY is great too and it is not an expensive or too long of an Uber ride into downtown Chicago.

      Thank you. It is all what you are trained for and mentally up to. I am exceedingly comfortable in the air with my HJ. I am in more control then on the highway to the airport as there it is not just my ability, but the ability and judgement of the drivers around me.
      Also, for those that question whether you should fly alone, I ask this question, do you take a safety drive with you in the car? Rhetorical question I know. There isn't even dual controls :-)

      I wanted to give you an update on this. I just watched an accident review video that the Phenom Pilots Association did here on UA-cam. Extremely well done analysis. One key point that jumped out was that 65% of the accidents were in crewed jets and only 35% were in single pilot jets. My belief is that with a crew, sometimes people are a bit braver than they should be. Also a wise business person pilot realizes that staying overnight in a hotel is not a bad option vs. pushing the envelope.

    • @ioptimizerealty
      @ioptimizerealty  7 місяців тому +3

      Unfortunately, that is unavoidable. I always am listening to ATC, even while narrating. As a pilot, you get used to listening to multiple conversations at once. Often you have to listen to the Approach freq, while listening to ATIS. Hope you enjoyed it otherwise. We try hard to explain everything. We are introducing graphics to help too.

      @ioptimizerealty  6 місяців тому +2

      Well, they are certainly busy controlling the traffic through complex airspace with lots of planes. I do the best I can with the narrations, but part of what I think is important to show the novice pilot is how you have to be able to handle listening to sometimes two frequencies at once and conducting your own conversations (perhaps with crew or pax). I hope you enjoy our videos. Thanks for watching.
