- I flew my first Honda Jet from Paris to Milan. Honda Jet is a light private jet with 4-5 seats and costs around $5 million which makes it one of the cheapest private jets. It is like a Japanese car with every inch of space utilized. It even has a private bathroom. The plane is powered by GE Honda HF120 engines mounted on the pylon above the wings.
My flight is arranged by charter broker LunaJets; one of Europe’s leading charter brokers. The flight is operated by JetClub, which allows you to own a fraction of the plane. The owner can even fly in the Honda Jet to build jet hours! A cool concept for pilot training. We climbed to 31,000 ft and crossed the spectacular Alps in great weather. It feels very cozy with just me as the sole passenger.
After landing in Milan Malpensa, I rushed off to the main terminal to catch an Emirates A380 to Dubai. This time, I flew in Economy Class. From a private jet to the back of the A380 Super Jumbo. I experienced two unique flying experiences in one day!

The Honda jet is a beautiful and revolutionary aeroplane. By attaching the engines to the wings the weight of the engines contributes to bending relief for the wings during flight. I have been an aeronautical engineer for 37 years and I have always been impressed by the Honda Jet. And I drive a Honda Civic-which has been the most reliable and durable car I have had. It has never leaked oil, doesn't burn oil. And it has travelled 257,000km.
Honda have always been very talented at making excellent machines that are very nice to use, and are also very reliable and perform very well too.
I have also been hearing many nice reports about the Honda Jet from engineers and pilots.
I had the same set of thoughts when I first stumbled into the Honda Jet on static display at Oshkosh Airventure 2006 , it did look so small like now that we see it on the inside

Don't forget that Honda's Formula 1 PowerUnit got better after they teamed up with Honda Jet Propulsion engineers to be able to improve the performance of it's engine since it's a Turbo Hybrid power house now, no wonder RedBull was able to get the Formula 1 World Championship last year thanks to Honda.
When I read Honda jet I thought of safety and quality right away. I like it, it's the same size of a Honda Odyssey.. although the Odyssey has more buttons on the dashboard than this jet. Thank you Sam and good luck with your piloting career.

In the late 1990's Honda went into development on this jet. I had the privilege of providing part of the Telemetry equipment they used for early flight testing at a small airport in North Carolina.

The Honda Jet turned out to be everything i had hoped, its a perfect pint sized private jet, good for both passengers and pilot. And considering it price, something a couple of pilots can pool their monies together to start a small business behind or even a ride/fly share such as this.

It is very cozy onboard Honda Jet, although small but I found a lot of happiness through my experience with excellent views, a nice glass of champagne and the excllent flying.

Makes sense for Honda. I've loved Honda's Rebel motorcycles since I was a kid - nice looking, reliable, no fuss - same with their cars. I can see them making economical private jets, too.

This jet is meant for high net worth individuals to fly on their own. You don't need a co-pilot to operate the jet. It's so interesting.

@everdream741 If you go to any private airfield you'll notice the vast majority of the pilots are hobbyist who fly for recreation and have other jobs/ventures.
Beautiful Honda Jet and the Italian Alps. I've always loved the A380 especially the upper deck.
It's actually mostly the Swiss alps we see in this video. But they crossed to the Italian boarder for sure.

Those engines are being made by GE-Honda, a 50-50 partnership of Honda and General Electric focusing on engines for business jets.

@@84CORVETTEBILL they are Assembled in North Carolina but the pylon, flaps, flap veins, ailerons, and wing tip lights where all built in St.louis Missouri which is where I worked but sadly we all got laid off cause it was cheaper to build in Brazil so that's where those components are now built at

@Phillip Banes No they've been working on making a jet since the 90s, the first working prototype for the current one was made in their japanese R and D facility there's video on it their channel, the reason they make it here is because they bought a jet factory for cheap from a bankrupt company, its also closer to their customers which are mostly in the US so its easier to deliver it, since its not a trans-Atlantic
I had the privilege to jumpsuit on two large jets back in the 80's. To sit in the cockpit of an aircraft behind the pilots is an amazing experience that most people people never will never get.

I work these airplanes all the time out of GSO, where their factory is located. In the past 10 years or so, I have worked many many test flights, many flights in and out of their facility and not one single flight has ever had any type of emergency or issue. Very solid and dependable airplane. Great value for the money. Sam, I would suggest checking out the Cirrus Visionjet in a future video. Very cool light single engine jet with the parachute and auto land function. Take care!

That Honda Jet is cool. The almost all touch screen set up is also very unique. Seems to be the future of cockpits.
You'll find the Garmin avionics suites in a quite a few general aviation aircraft. Your smaller single engine piston aircraft will typically use the G1000 avionics. When you get into the jets you'll see the G3000 which is on the HondaJet. There is also a G5000 suite which is newer and found typically on medium and large private jets. It's a very nice system.

Believe it or not, but It’s more comfortable to fly on bigger planes. Smaller planes tend to be more bumpier and clearly more claustrophobic as seen in the video.
Yeah I wouldn't want to fly this little plane for longer than 1 hour. Too small, turbulence would feel pretty bad. I would fly it only on very good weather.
Just want to say that what these pilots are doing is the DREAM job of A LOT OF PEOPLE, including me. Flying jets in Europe.

Hi Sir, I'm from Europe, I enjoyed the flight what and everybody probably knows......the first two lakes you see at 6.19 are the Briënzer lake and Thuner lake, in the middle is Interlaken. The second lake at 6.48 is Lago Maggiore, the city at the end of the lake is Locarno. At 6.53 is Lago di Lugano, Lugano will be 'cut in half' by the red part of the winglet.
HONDA JET must be the quietest private jet.
Engines not mounted on the body is a great inovtion.

Really nice feature! Very balanced, appreciative and accessible not least because of the A380 economy reference. I can confirm the comment on A380 interior noise level. It's unlike anything I have ever been on. I hope they will keep making them despite what media suggest about their redundancy.

Sam, love your videos, but you got some facts wrong. The HondaJet has 6 to 7 seats depending on how you use the area where they put the food. That doubles as a belted seat, a/k/a it could have been your jump seat had they not brought you all those goodies. It even has a belted lav that in theory gives you an 8th seat, but I can't see too many people really using that.
Second, you said it was so small. Well, it's actually bigger than other planes in its class. It has 17" more legroom than the Cessna M2.
Everything is relative. If you are comparing it against jets costing 2X to 10x its cost, well then you could say it's smaller than them, but that would be not comparing apples to apples.
You said it was loud. Well, there too, you were wrong. It's quieter than the competition and most airlines that I have been on. I measured the decibels with an app. You could have too.
So, as you progress through your pilot journey, I think you will understand how everything is relative. Sure, I can find a bigger, faster jet - can you give me an extra $7 million more?
I do not work for HondaJet, but I do fly one and have compared them to the competitors in its class.

Such an amazing little jet and has proven how far jet technology has come. Unfortunately, even with the new Echelon model having a 2625 nm range, these are still not capable of transoceanic crossings. Yes, if you want to plan a long and complex island-hopping adventure you could probably do it, but it's just not feasible.

Cirrus Vision Jet is the cheapest but it is a single-engine jet whereas Honda has multi-engine .

From roughly 80 gph a 360 ktas to 120 gph at 420 ktas (at 41000 feet) so interpret the fuel burn however you like. But to be clear the engines themselves are extremely efficient
