Cool kids. They're outgoing and fun. Also Ian, you've done a great job diving into stepdad-ism ;)
anyone remember A Flock of Seagulls??? the coolest hair ever on the young man 🙂
What about Desireless, best known for Voyage, Voyage, hair by the French version of the National Grid
Wishing - if I had a photograph of you ...
I was thinking more the Australian comedian Frenchy.
What delightful people the Hublets are and what a great team the four of you are.
Heartwarming to watch.
They both seem to have grown up quickly! Scary how time flies. They both are a credit to Carly and Ian as step dad!
Two notes.
1. Seeing someone do their driving lessons now makes me realise just how old I am!
2. The little dude has a good hairdresser.
Family Hubnut, a class act. Miss Hubnut and the Hublets have added so much to the channel, how the channel has evolved and developed, has been wonderful to see, best wishes and thanks to all 👍 (top Optare Solo vlog bombing)
I wouldn't mind seeing mini Hubnut helping more on tackling jobs on the fleet, he really seems talented and likes it. Of course if school permits it 😉
This has to be the best Q&A that I can remember on the channel. The whole family of HubNutters being involved. Great questions and candid answers were a definite plus. This one gave us a terrific perspective on general life as Hubs normal life vs the YT part and how it can change things so very well done keeping them separate. Many thanks for sharing.
Really impressed, how well spoken the Hublets are. Great to see 👍😎👌
already loving this video, the hublets are amazing young people.
For Little Miss HubNut, I vehemently recommend a K11 Micra. They're easy to maintain, simple, reliable, they sip fuel, and most importantly, are fun as heck without breaking the speed limit. Also the visibility is outstanding.
Ian and Carly, i think the channel blossemed with the intro of Carly and the hublets, it is by far my fav channel on youtube and the first i signed up for membership. love you all.
We miss that Multipla!
Looked up youngest you can do your theory test.
The Govt site says ...
"When you can take the theory test. You can take the theory test from your 17th birthday onwards. You can take it from your 16th birthday if you get, or have applied for, the higher weekly rate of the mobility part of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)."
Fantastic Kids. Well Done Ian for being such an AWESOME stepdad. Most Kids and myself when I was that age would have LOVED you as stepdad. And a brilliant Role model.
Good luck Little miss Hubnut. Keep up the practice. You can’t go wrong with an instructor like Ian.
Word of advice… (make a note of this)
The day you go for your test.. eat 2 or 3 bananas half an hour before the test. The potassium helps keep your Nervs calm.
During the test, chew some gum… it sure
Helps.
So great to see you all as team Hubnut ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
On Training. Back in the 80s, I took my test after no formal lessons (and passed). I had a motocycle licence (which also didn't require formal training in those days). That allowed me to drive a 3 wheeled Reliant car. After a few months practice in that and a few runs out in my mum's Dolomite 1300, to get used to it, I took the car test.
Awesome to hear from the Hublets 😊👍
What is it with these mullets? Has Wales gone back to the 1980s?
Some say it never left...
@@HubNut I believe you.
They never left the 1980s
Loads of kids are rocking the mullet now, like Arnie they're back!
I'm still in the 1970s
You all are wonderful! Thanks!
I'm finding the new car scene very exiting at the moment. The most since my teens. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Dacia Spring in the metal.
I’m a step dad too, good job, Ian.
Love Mini-hubnut's list of 7 cars - straight in strong with a Lotus Carlton! Good lad! :)
(Also, his hair is epic!)
I just have to answer the 7 dream car garage question myself:
1. Mk4 Ford Escort RS Turbo in white. Prettiest car of all time.
2. Fiat Dino 2400 in blue.
3. 1974 Pontiac Trans Am 400 4 speed in red with the screaming chicken.
4. Red Citroën Xantia Activa.
5. Classic red Mini with a Spoon B16B. 11000 rpm. White roof.
6. 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst.
7. Daimler DS420 in black.
If I'd like to get one back it would also be a Xantia, turbo diesel though 😁
Miss Hubnut isn't weird - she's delightful. Assume you've covered the repeated postal cost increases in your merch pricing. Most important question - Vegemite or Marmite? (or Bovril?), If Japanese cars are designed for smaller people does the opposite apply to American vehicles? Liking the intelligent and funny family banter.
We do sadly have to keep increasing the postage but we aim to keep it reasonable.
Only real answer there is the superior yeast extract spread - Vegemite. There used to be a better one again called OzEMite but that no longer exists, unfortunately.
What a terrific video! Really great to see the Hublets and hear their views and opinions. And a great set of questions from the community.
I have a few uranium glass cups. It's spectacular to light the room with some blacklight tubes and drink tonic out of them. The bright green glow from the glass combines nicely with the pale white glow of the tonic.
😳
The Clio's a fine choice - good safety rating and fine handling for those twisty Welsh roads. Can't beat a good French hatch on country roads.
I like the answer to the McClaren - "I'm not allowed". 😂
The hublets are so easy going. They and CARly have really added to the channel.
I love how knowledgeable and enthusiastic everyone is.
It's good that they both know what they want to do with their lives. Most don't know what they want to do, so you and Mrs Hubnut must be proud of them. Why don't you get the car's they want to drive when they've passed their driving test. Then do some videos of them and you getting them fixed up. Keep up the good work.
You should take Betty and Bob to Sweden, they are pretty keen on large barges over there. Maybe visit some events there, lots of American cars, nice to see their reaction 😃
Netherlands would be more suitable for that. They go even bigger with their love of the American yacht club.
“I’d get too angry” 😂
Fantastic cool kids! Big fan of the whole family 😀
Great vlog, Hublets are terrific ! They've got a great future I'm sure.
Ah, missed the announcement completely! But still enjoyable to watch with all these questions and the Hublets' answers.
The hublets have got a brain on them which is very rare these days 👍
Nice to see the kids. So brave of you to appear. If you ever do a channel, be patient and consistant. I'm up to 722 subs after 5 years. I'm sure your brand will do better!
Loved the Q&A! Great to see and hear from the Hublets too. Keep up the great work, and thank you 😊😊
What a lovely video. I obviously appreciate all of the car content on the channel but its great to see the family too. Some of Carly's comments were very touching. Best wishes to you all, keep up the great work!
An idea for Mini HubNut’s first car - one you build with him. I’m sure he’d enjoy the process and learning about his own car inside out.
As for my seven car garage:
1. Ford XG Falcon GLi manual ute in red - would resurrect the one I had that was written off if I could, but I know it’s been scrapped.
2. Chrysler Valiant Charger E49 with the optional Track Pack
3. Holden WH Series II Caprice 5.7 V8 in silver - if I can find one that’s still totally standard - otherwise HSV WH Series II Grange in HSV Racing Green
4. 1984 Holden VK Commodore Executive sedan in brown with a 173 Blue motor in it like the one I had when I was 17
5. CK Chrysler by Chrysler with the 340 V8.
6. Leyland P76 Targa Florio manual
7. 60 series Landcruiser with a naturally aspirated diesel and numerous legal modifications for off-roading.
What grounded and lovely kids
Nice to hear from the Hublets. Great Q&A 👍
Thanks for your candid answers!
Remarkable that Ian had a similar test experience to me - my lessons had been in a petrol K10 Micra, but the afternoon before my test he collected his brand new Peugeot 106 XND. First time I drove it was about three quarters of an hour before my test.
Brilliant video from Team / Family HubNut! Thanks for answering my Qs!
Lots of knowledge and enthusiasm there!
By the way, Dolly the 2CV who the Hublets drove way back when, is almost ready to come back to me after a major rebuild - hope to bring her to Rustival 2 - was gutted not to make the first one!
In NSW learner drivers under 25 must accumulate a minimum of 120hrs supervised driving including at least 20hrs between sunset and sunrise before being eligible to book a driving test. The average pass rate across Australia is 62%.
It'd about 50% here, though some test centres can be as high as 78%!
It’s the same in Victoria who were the first to introduce the 120 hour requirement… just after I got my Ps. They also brought in Green Ps the month after I got my full license.
I've got 2 of my favorite auto museums I'd like to share with you if you did come over the pond: Boyertown Auto Museum in Boyertown Pennsylvania, and Swigart Museum in Huntingdon Pennsylvania. While both in PA, they are a few hours apart, even at highway speeds.
BTW, Carly, you and the kidlets have been a wonderful addition to the channel. Ian's mood changed when you came around, and it's been great to see the improvement in everything. Hi-five to you all.
What a great Q and A especially with the Hublets. What a wonderful family you have and glad to see Little Miss Hubnut is in to F1and supports Mclaren. Come on Doris and Pastry...(That's We what we call Lando and Oscar). We bought a Smart car in 2001 and drove it from Poole in Dorset to Syke, cost £12 at the time to fill it up, obviously had to fill it up a few times. Loving the vlogs, keep up the good work.
A few years ago in ireland they introduced EDT (essential driver training) and you are required to do 12 before you can even think about booking your test
Very interesting video. Great to see the whole family. Was nice to get a mention too.
Bit late to the party, but breaking the boredom of work up with the Q&A in the background, thank you for answering my question and I totally agree with Mini Hubnut that the Ford Range at the moment is something I would not consider buying.
That was a nice Q&A.
Thanks Ian & Carly. My test was in a brand new Escort mark 2.
May 1980
Brave. Despite being an excellent driver myself (ahem) I would not want to teach a loved one to drive. There would be too many emotions involved and I couldn't stay calm, which is essential when teaching. So well done to both of you and good luck
You can take your theory test once your provisional licence becomes valid. Normally, for car drivers, the earliest date your provisional licence can become valid is your 17th birthday. However you can apply for the licence up to two months before your 17th birthday.
Love to see the video of Master HubNut Buying and driving back a Twingo from France 👍
Glad to see the teens of today keeping up the time honoured tradition of wearing jeans with holes in the knees. Just like the rest of us, by the time she's 30 she will have absolutely no idea why.
I did also have similar jeans at that age...
Was the baggy skater-style ones for me, which was all the rage back then. Most of us boys at school would dress up like Fred Durst outside of school.
Mini HubNut is Rocking that early Martin Riggs Mullet.
Thank you Ian!!!!!!!!
The kids do seem very mature and well-spoken. Great Q & A.
Ian, looking back, that Multipla was possibly your most crazy purchase!
On the question of size I do agree there needs to be more adjustability, the Tec is there so no excuses for the manufacturer
I am glad you both are Carefull with the kids and internet! There are alot of creeps lurking....
Thanks!
Thank you!
Master hubnut reminds me of young Jamie Oliver.😅Aussie Graham.
great stuff, sorry i missed it live, just bought a 22-plate MG HS , loving it, have you test drove one ?
Congrats! I haven't as yet.
A question to carly and Ian each. Which car in the current fleet would you drive from lands end to John O'groats?
Elly has already done it, during a 3500-mile trek around the UK in 2008. Not a very direct route...
Best intermittent wiper I've had was in a 1998 Skoda Felicia (from memory a standard VW relay - I fitted one to a Volvo V70XC I had a few years later) - wipe once, when screen needs a second wipe switch to intermittent ... time between wipes set by the time between last wipe and switching on intermittent. Switching to intermittent without a recent wipe gives you the longest interval. Switching to intermittent from slow wipe gives you the shortest interval - so intuitive to use!
Unlike the Seat Altea XL I recently had - having rain sensing intermittent and a control to adjust the interval, with an unfathomable relationship between the two controls / occasional ultra-fast wipes without any interval was just infuriating!
My first car I passed my test on and bought a 2009 vauxhall corsa club automatic from my driving instructor followed by a 2016 65 plate Corsa SE automatic the year after in 2017 now have got the Corsa elite premium nav automatic 2020 plate
Another great Q&A. Great to see the Hublets having a mini session. I don't like Marmite😂
You'll have to let them know that I want to sell Renard, if they like Renaults. ;)
Great video, they grow up so fast!
You have a lovely family and are doing a great job with work life balance. It can be difficult being a stepdad, I know from experience so well done Ian.😊
2011 Renault F1 car good choice. V8 and blown diffuser. What a noise
Proves how much I know about F1...
Good afternoon to you all. I want to thank you for this great video, both parts of which really fit together well. I am interested in Rustival 2, I often go away in September (usually sbroad) but this year I'm staying in the UK, mainly because in the past few years I've neglected things like Regimental reunions. So I will put that right. I attended Rustival 1 but became a victim of the weather and my disability. Both you and Carly were helpful and friendly, for which I am most grateful. You probably don't remember me but that is no problem to me.
Please take care and hope to see you soon.
I was going to ask how you can go from a Porsche 911 Carerra RS 3.8 to a Peel P50 in the same list but then I remembered my 'if I could have anything' garage has a McLaren F1 and a 1949 Land Rover in it. No one should ever have to justify their dream garage!
Hi i have a jogger top of the range 1leter petrol and I love it even toes my caravan
In the UK you can book your theory test at 16 and your practical test 17, in order to do so you'll need to have held a provisional licence for at least six months.👍
You got a very good woman they keep her
The Spark is a great little motor. I've only driven one on a French holiday about a decade ago, but it was quite fun, comfortable and very, very economical. It doesn't look like much, but it's a simple thing and Chops Garage seems to like them as well.
I'm with mini HubNut on the 1st generation Twingo, very cool car and still appeals to me now.
I wasn't sure about watching an hour of thoughts but what a great video. It would be a good one to look back at each year and compare the Hublets' thoughts - a bit like those 7 up documentaries where they used to follow children every 7 years of their life but review once a year instead. Try and keep the questions the same and it could be really interesting to see how their views change.
I believe in automotive ergonomic design they tend to work to the 95th percentile. Or at least they used to.
Some cars I can get comfortable in but the Dacia Sandero pool cars my company have, not so much. The seat doesn't adjust for height, it won't go back far enough and if you do have the fortune to get one with an adjustable steering column, it's for rake only.
Hearing Little Miss Hubnut mention her interest in photography, have there bin any in-depth discussions with Matt Furious?
Not so far. No time at Rustival!
Great to see the Hublets! (and hope Ian didn't get too much of a thump off camera for potentially embarrassing Little MissHubNut!)
Even in Arizona we have rust on vehicle.
Thanks Carly for reading my question out from a screen shot, your observation about Japanese cars for people of smaller stature is correct & surprisingly my old Mazda 6 Estate accommodated my 6'4" frame with ease so it is entirely possible to have the range of movement needed as I bought the car off a 4'10" work colleague. She was worried I wouldn't fit in it! but was surprised when I said the seat was 1 click back from max 😊
Oh and don't worry about a feminist rant there needs to be more than the average of them.
Modern feature for older cars - electrically heated windscreen. If only Ford would licence their technology - they would make millions (billions?).
I don't like them... I can't not see the lines.
Great to hear that Little Miss Hubnut is a Lando Norris fan. He went to the same school as I did, but almost 40 years later!
Thx for the brilliant q and a with the hublets and miss hubnut
AY UP MR HUBNUT AND HUBLETS
mk 1 REAL Twingo.... GOOD CHOICE
Mullet TV! Love it 😆
The 4 of you make a great team.
Very impressed that Miss HN is looking at policing. With a love of fast driving, a natural flair and an interest in media, we are all looking forward to Police Interceptors 2030!
My youngest daughter (13) was very much enamoured with young Mr HubNut!
15:01 Is Little Miss HubNut still grinning from ear to ear after Landos success in Miami this past weekend? I know I am! #LN4
Thank you from the Netherlands 😃👍🏼
Thanks for the clarification. 😉 Sorry...
Are you guys going to form a "Stray cats" tribute band? 😁
Will you be selling cloned HubLets in your Merch Store. They are the perfect children! Master Hubnut perfect car, a Peel P50 (good choice). Little Miss Hubnut 2cv (superb)!
Avantime, nice choice!
Are used car prices still astronomical in France?
Yeah, which is why a friend of mine sold his RHD Avantime to a Frenchman some years ago.
another great video has always Ian and Carly miss/mrs hubnut and hublets and hubmutt 👍
