The benefit of a dealer like yourself having a UA-cam channel is that anyone can watch and see the time and effort put into preparing your cars. Anyone who accuses you of sending out faulty cars clearly has never watched your videos. If only more dealers were like this.

Hi James , the chap you sold the car to has been very reasonable as I know you appreciated , you in turn have been 100% upfront and honest , in difficult circumstances you have done everything very professional and done your best to make sure he can get on his holiday with his children , I can’t think of anything more you can do , if anything you have shown any potential customers your professionalism, well done and keep up the good work love watching your UA-cam channel 👍🏻.

The service you offer is better than I've experienced from main dealers on 'approved' vehicles, under 3 years old, and costing far more - so hats off to you. Whether what you're doing is a sustainable, profitable model for you only you can decide

The dreaded PSA group BSI issues! However, once sorted they are usually fine for thousands of miles.
You are absolutely correct, you only know how good a firm is when you have a problem and how they respond to sorting it out. Like many others who view this channel, I think your customer service is first rate and if you get the car I am looking for in stock, I would have no hesitation in buying from you.

We now know how bad Peugeot are. What a poor design to have a new Body Management Model that won't operate the Windscreen Wipers! (I assume the module had to be coded to the car, but that should be all that was necessary).

An excellent way to help out a customer that was unfortunate to have
an issue with a car only two days after purchase.
Not every garage would be so helpful, most would just offer to repair it
    and leave you without transport.
I have bought new cars that spent far too much time at the dealers with faults
that are not easy to find.
I hope it all works out for you and the customer.

There is a hilarious video by Jay Emm on why he hates the BMW E-46 M3. He bought one, thinking it was the bees, knees and had every single problem you can have with those and had them all fixed at great cost. He lost faith with the car and sold it to a friend. He caught up with the friend some years later asking, "hows the M3" going? "oh great, no problems at all!" Turns out JayEmm had paid for all the common maintenance to be done and the next owner enjoyed the subsequent reliability!!!

you have been more than fair with the customer james, i remember when i got a 62 plate focus 2 litre tdci powershift titanium from a local dealer and after a few weeks it started losing coolant overnight (i have a habit of checking fluid levels before i drive anywhere) and the dealer made me drive the car 20 miles to his other yard to be fixed by his mechanic leaving me without a car for a few days (turned out to be a hose on the heater matrix) and 2 weeks after that the car then told me it needed an oil change which made me wonder if they had done anything to the car before selling it, i got the service done and had a mechanic in the family give the car a once over after that and did not have any more issues with it

I totally agree with you about how you treat the customer when they've had an issue because if someone has issues and you treat them really well, then any future customers are going to have confidence in you more than the car because in the past, some of the larger car dealers that have massive showrooms tend to tell untruths unlike your good self.
My current car failed the MOT but is only going to cost £252 for the work that's needed including the MOT, which I don't think is bad.
If it was going to be a write off, then I would definitely consider buying from you, which I have in the past, but as I'm working full time now, it's going to be tricky for me to buy one (unless I can get one on a Saturday) :)

At the end of the day, a car of this age is essentially on palliative care. Most people realise this. I bought a car 15 years ago with 69k miles on it and I still run it daily. Alot of issues can be sorted with regular services and catching the niggles before they become a problem. My dad taught me this and he should know as he has a Renault that he bought when it was 4 years old and still owns it 50 years later!

When you get a car in for retail mate, use for a few days, high revs, give it some, especially diesels, scan for codes, history and pending, assume to last owners got rid due to some fault, a lot of scanners will say the last time car was scanned ie codes cleared, I've just bought a clio, been running it around and seen rad leaking, I'd have been for it just punting it out, you've just got to put the time in on these cars, I do like 100 miles in them, it's better than all this trouble, you've just got to get up on your scanning as well as your times free (!) cars are so, so troublesome now, lastly cross your fingers mate.

It won't have been the bcm bud, with those pressure sensor codes coming up when you went out to it and fans on (trying to re gen) I think it's blocked dpf, you could check the soot content of the dpf on your scanner, diesels not running right tho are a massive problem, hardly any older ones run 100% I'd have been checking injectors, leak off test, dpf, egr, frp, turbo boost, troublesome diesels eh mate (!)

If it’s just a 1.2 fiesta for example, you are probably going to get shot and buy another.

It would seem crazy to buy a new part like that for an older car when it’s perfectly repairable. I went through a flood once and my ecu under the seat failed.. the car was a JDM import and god knows where I would have got an ECU, but a local ECU repair shop fixed it next day for about 30 quid!

Buying a new bcm will have been expensive, best to send old one off for checking be back in a couple of days, Peugeots hate to be stood tho with flat batteries or ecus off, as you've found daft things happen like wipers, lights not working, all that stuff.

I hope everything goes to plan. your a first class car dealer who goes overboard to offer a great service to your customers. 5 star. Good Luck.

I was going to suggest giving them a loan car. Sorts immediate issue and then decide what to do about the faulty vehicle.

If its a private buy for a few grand scan for pending codes, this pug will have been trouble that's why they've got it into you, if it's a few grand you want to really check them out, I always run cars for a few days, most of the time the fault will show up, you want to be scanning them for a health check, fuel pressure, dpf soot, boost and avoid Peugeots as well.
