Wendi is a lawyer, so its not surprising that she has been able to protect herself. I believe she was aware of what was going to happen, and was a part of the conspiracy, but she knows enough to isolate herself from most of it. Driving to Markels house, seeing the police presence but not inquiring why -- or even checking on her kids -- is a HUGE red flag. The fact she asked if she was "a suspect" in the police interrogation before they told her about Markle -- another red flag. Sure hope IF she was part of it, they can find enough evidence to prove it.

Regarding the argument of committing the murder prior to getting paid. Both parties basically argued the shooters went to murder a man without first being paid a dime. The difference was you either have to believe the shooters would commit a murder after being hired to kill and get paid later, or the shooters took a chance and committed a murder in the hopes that they would get paid later while trying to extort Mr. Adelson. Which sounds more reasonable?

The case against Wendi is stronger than you think. She didn't just have knowledge, she actively participated. There are a few things that necessitate her involvement, especially if we take it as a legal fact (based on the four convictions) that: Charlie Adelson hired Katie Magbanua to recruit someone to kill his brother-in-law; she solicited Luis Rivera and gunman Sigfredo Garcia, who did kill Dan Markel.
Wendi was necessary to know Prof. Markel was leaving town on Saturday, and that he was at the gym that morning. She was also needed to know what sort of car Jeffrey LaCasse drove and when he was leaving town for both the attempt _and_ the successful murder. Perhaps even more importantly (and with less possibility of ambiguity as to motive), Wendi had to break her television _before_ the first attempt, and leave it unfixed for a month until it was used as her alibi for the time of the murder. She is also the only person that could have caused Katie to respond to Sigfredo that she knew the murder had been done. It wasn't in the news or around the community, but Wendi had pulled up to the police tape and subsequently talked to Charlie, who then called Katie.
I think Georgia has been holding off on digging into a few questions that point to Wendi; questions like asking Rivera how they knew to stalk Prof Markel at the gym, or asking Katie how she knew the murder was successful.

Also don't leave out Jeffrey Lacasse was literally setup to take the fall for the murder except for the fact at the last minute left early on a planned trip to Talahassee. It doesn't matter what the Defense throws his way; because Jeffrey has truth on his side his reactions r 💯 believable which is in contrast to Wendi. Why did Wendi tell Jeffrey Lacasse about Charlie's attempt too hire a hit man to murder Dam Markel in 2013? Before telling Jeffrey about the attempt in 2013 Charlie hired a hit man, Wendi first told Jeffrey that she had lied during her first deposition from Dan Markel. When Jeffrey reported said statement to the police during his interview the olive look into Wendi's statement & it turned out to be untrue. I believe this was done as part of the setup; hoping Jeffrey would be a top suspect (as Wendi believed that Jeffrey would be passing by Dan's area at the time of his murder) & then Jeffrey reports both serious statements made by Wendi & the police find the 1st statement to be untrue & the 2nd story Wendi told Jeffrey would be his word against Wendi! Again Wendi is purposely made to look like a victim. Plan mostly would have worked if Jeffrey wasn't already in Tenessee at the ti.e of the murder, thank God.
Lastly, who would even mention their brother and parents could be a person that would hire a hitman. This sh I w how hiring a hit-and-run to get your way is & has been on your mind for a while to be able to think that way. Thanks Peter for your commentary. Happy Sunday! 😊

Did Charlie Adelson hire Katie Magbanuah to recruit Sigfredo Garcia and Luis Rivera to 'kill' Dan Markel or to 'rough him up'? Or did Katie Magbanuah make the decision to up it to 'murder' because she knew it would make her more money? Reasonable doubt.
Luis Rivera and Sigfredo Garcia followed Dan Markel to the Daycare Center and then to the gym. No one had to tell them about the gym.
Jeffrey LaCasse surmised that he was possibly going to be a suspect, after he heard the testimony and evidence.
This case was precipitated by Wendy Adelson, who had a personal motive. And was based on the words of the known liar and manipulator, Katie Magbanuah, who had financial motive. Charles Adelson was definitely a co-conspirator. But he was also played by his sister and his ex-girlfriend. Just like he had always been played by his mother.

People vote too expediently based upon emotion and not logic. I would never convict someone based on circumstantial evidence only. I read a lot of posts on these podcasts and it’s frightening how many people purport a verdict without the trial even having commenced.

Amen, I would rather 100 guilty men or women walk free than see 1 innocent man or woman be wrongly incarcerated. Not the other way around. Beyond all reasonable doubt. When jurors talk about how the defendent smirked and didn't think they showed "remorse" sitting expressionless during the trial, this is the problem with women jurors. And soy boy jurors

To answer what so many people asked about juror names: yes, in Florida, since juror names are public record (unless ordered by the court), they are frequently referred to by name by the Judge.

Some judges call jurors by their juror numbers but the court documents will have the juror names regardless if they are mentioned in trial. Some judges require defendants to remain sitting due to security reason. Note how Charlie was sitting in hard chair without wheels which is SOP for defendants in criminal cases.

    • @paulinegallagher7821

Blackmail implicates guilt. Why would you blackmail an innocent person? An innocent person with no dirt on them would never submit to blackmail. He thought he was being so clever by making it pointedly clear he was never blackmailed. The story he stuck with though was even stupider; a complete stranger who is actually linked in evidence to Catherine his girlfriend decides to demand money, in INSTALLMENTS no less, or he will pin a murder on him. Lol.
