Like when she’s on the stand and someone says it’s her fault she’s been in jail so long. I love how neutral and factual you are with this.
I totally agree with you. Peter’s been great at being objective all the way through. The suitcase video is so horrifying (and as you said, Sarah so unlikeable) that it makes it hard to be objective, so a lot of channels and people are not. She still has a right to a fair trial and to presumed innocence.
Agreed...Peter's neutrality has totally changed how I watch cases...In fact it's crazy because today I found myself asking questions favoring Boone just because it was fair, even kinda seeing her as "presumed innocent"......but that video makes it so hard..
Hes doing exactly as it's supposed to be. So many have lost their way and have taken away certain Rights such as Innocent unless proven guilty and so much more within the public domain and more. The public forms their opinion based on a miniscule amount of Information on people so often. Once they don't like someone they then turn so much of it negative forgetting rights of People. If it was so easy to determine guilt from some mere interview or a Body cam footage then there wouldn't be need for investigations. I admire all who remember everyone has a right to fair treatment, trial and innocent unless proven guilty.
@@gotta-date-with-hate One can not know what led to the suitcase. It's so easy to just take that little bit from then and make a judgement but our very laws say no. I have witnessed people in situations where for example they were screaming at someone. Had someone not knew the before they may call them crazy for it. What led to the screaming? In Boones case what truly led to the suitcase? Boone has every right to defend and present evidence and testimony to do so and be assumed innocent. The case must be looked at objectively and with the lens of innocent unless proven guilty. I love how he follows that and encourages his viewers. This culture that tries to deem guilt usually allowing and overlooking unfair treatment and loss of rights and or important details due to their own bias that stands against the Foundation of Our Country.
@tqueen7131 her time was false. She said she had to wait 10 hours, the first cops showed up at 1. 10 hours from 1 would be 11 pm. Yet she was at Brian's using his phone to call the detective at 930. Which is 8 and 1/2 hours after the first copy got there. This means she did not wait ten hours. Maybe 8. Just Sarah's exaggeration
Not sure about Florida, but in California we have expressed and implied waivers of Miranda. Essentially, if we ask "Q-9" and they say yes, it's an expressed waiver. If we don't ask "Q-9" and they start answering our questions, it's an implied waiver. Both are acceptable as long as the person is not coerced, overly impaired, etc.
If I were SB I would not get on the stand for this hearing. I think SB is definitely telling her lawyers exactly what she wants to do in this & she is pushing to get her 'story' out. She should have been worried about what happened to Jorge as any 'reasonable and prudent' person would be but not Sarah who was hungover and had cotton mouth aka dehydration and thus the need for WATER
The only person in this entire situation who is truly an undeserved innocent victim is Sarah Boone's son. I hope he and his father are somehow able to distance themselves from this nonsense in a way that shields her son from any and all the negative attention that Sarah Boone continues to bring upon herself and anyone connected to her. Perhaps even some type of witness protection program where her son is able to live under an assumed identity allowing him to have as normal a childhood and learning experience as possible considering the horrific circumstances as a consequence of being exposed to Sarah Boone's chaos.
Oh I think the son knows exactly what his mother is and has already placed healthy boundaries between himself and her. In one of her letters to the judge, she was complaining about how the kid was talking to her on the phone because Brian (his Dad) was petitioning to cease her alimony payments while she is in prison and the son was telling his mom that Brian wasn't going to talk to her or pay her- because she's guilty and is going to prison. I don't know what she expected the judge of her CRIMINAL trial to do about what is essentially a family court issue, but at least by her doing that it gives us an insight into how the little guy feels and is doing. He sounded like his head is in the right place vis a vis this ridiculous woman- who just happened to give birth to him but completely failed at mothering him, just like she failed at pretty much everything else in her life- despite being so "smart"
According to her visitor logs, her son was refusing to come see Sarah. The jail required people to notify the jail when they wanted to see an inmate. Brian Boone would sign up him and Lukas, but Lukas refused to go.
I absolutely LOVE hearing your perspective of hearings, Peter. It’s fascinating to hear your thoughts after I have watched independently. Thanks for all you do!
UGH! The Judge got this right. The Cop said we have to do this meaning reading the rights again. Re-watch the interrogation. We have to do this pertained to Miranda not questioning
Sarah kept saying, “You tricked me!”, over and over again. She’s been salty over it for years, nobody was buying what she was selling. This is all Sarah, she wants the interrogation challenged and Owens is doing his best to give her what she wants. She can not be convinced she can not talk her way out of this. Sarah will absolutely blame Owens when she’s convicted.
The detective said she never told SB when she was getting her phone back and didnt speak to her that night but that they discussed her coming into the station the next day. Which is completely normal...they would ask her to come in the next day to give an official statement or to discuss whatever.
Even her timeline is bs. She says: -Called 911 at almost 1 pm -Was held at the scene for over 10 hours -Called the detective from Brian's phone, at his house, at 9 or 10 pm
He loved her and she loved him I wish they could have used that sincere love to fuel their desire to stop drinking and focus on living a sober life 👍 We are all human, have vices and make stupid mistakes She definitely should be fairly held accountable as determined by this jury and judge 👍
That last question cannot be part of the Miranda process because to require it sets up the "regressive affirmation" fallacy in which the question "Do you agree to the above?" will require the question "Do you agree to agree to the above?" and so on and so on.
I love this channel! I have been watching full trials for years and have had so many questions about the strategy on both sides and about why things are being done the way they are. As a retired Cal Bar atty & prosecutor for the State Bar, inactive is inactive & one must be active to practice. Yes, there are definitely "hard" vs. "soft" reasons for being inactive. However, if a person is an inactive member (for any reason), the lawyer may NOT practice. Period. If Owens can reinstate his active status by simply paying his dues, he darn well better. In Calif, he'd be disallowed from appearing until he straightened it out.
Once the detective said “ the 9th question wasn’t on my Miranda card” Seemed like Owens knew that the argument about the detective not asking the last question was done
I understand he’s under a whole other level of pressure and these motions are not easy to (properly) draft. But it’s hard to be sympathetic when he’s assigning two of his lawyers and support staff to do hair and makeup for Sarah Boone during trial. I would be furious to have raised my hand to help and been tasked with applying her makeup. He has weeks to prepare, every hour is important. How is it that he references caselaw in respect of her appearance but not at all in a motion to suppress a two hour interrogation? I understand too that there’s not much you can do with a bad case, but all I’m asking is, how do you ask with a straight face for a hair stylist when trial is days away? This dude needs to focus on the actual case because the State has been gearing up to give her this beatdown for 4 years. I’m stunned.

Did anyone else notice that SB said she went to Brian's house because she was afraid of Jorges' family? That is a lot different from her statements to all the cops that Jorges' family loved her because of everything she did for him!
We have to talk about this ≠ YOU have to talk about this... Especially since the Officer read Sarah her Miranda Rights stating Sarah did NOT have to talk to the Officers.

The suitcase video is so horrifying (and as you said, Sarah so unlikeable) that it makes it hard to be objective, so a lot of channels and people are not. She still has a right to a fair trial and to presumed innocence.
I do too. Treating people with dignity is so refreshing and wonderful to see. We need more of it and less online bashing.
IT IS NORMAL PROTOCOL for cops to ask the person who was there when a person dies … questions! She knows better! She’s been arrested before!
Exactly
Of course she does lol
She had every intention to speak, she had her own list of questions for LE
The detective said, “We have to talk to you about this,” NOT “You have to talk to us.”
Peter - thank you for all the efforts you are making to help the victims of the hurricane.
And thanks for your money donations.
9 hours after the 1st sheriff showed up she was calling the detective on Brian's phone the lies roll off her tongue
Well if it's false The State can show she didn't call from his phone and thus far they haven't.
Anything she says on the stand from here on out the state will use against her, especially when her stories don't align.
I definitely donated to the hurricane relief fund and got the sweetest email from a lady I'm assuming who works for the charity. It was absolutely so kind and sweet! ❤❤
No one co erced her they couldnt shut her up😳
Exactly! I believe she went there to try to convince to detectives of her innocence AND fish for information.
Her interrogation and her letters to everyone show she cannot keep her mouth shut.
@@whatjanesaysgoes 💯
Still cant😂
yeah, even on the stand, she was adding a lot of extra words and details when answering questions. she has so many statements out there, videos, letters, in court statements when she was pro se. the fact she can't shut up, can't help Owens argument.
Right!!! & She still can't shut up. I'm going to guess she will take the stand at her trial.
Regardless, she was told she has the right to remain silent. She knew!! Plus the fact she came with questions means she was wanting to talk.
It means that she was expecting to ask them questions. Not to be interrogated by them. Hope this helps.
A reasonable person would expect to ask questions and answer questions in a give and take situation
She wanted to talk to them, it is not the police departments fault she is an idiot
@@templedrake6890Ah I see, so Sarah is the only one allowed to ask questions? Good to know 😂
@@chilo8187 Are you unable to grasp the skill set. You clearly don't think things through.
@@templedrake6890 I’d say Miss Boone is the one not thinking things through, in this scenario…who kills their BF in a drunken state, films if, and then expects to not be interrogated?
I love how she initially said she hardly drank then she was hung over the next day.
Oh don't forget she "doesn't like not having her wits" or whatever it was about being drunk.
She also said she *can't* get drunk... pretty sure you have to get drunk to be hungover 😅
I think it was George that was in a small enclosed space Mr Owens NOT Sarah Boon! 😳
She definitely knows how to put on an amazing show 🤺
If she truly believed that her sole purpose was to pick up her phone when she went to OCSD, why did she bring a whole list of questions?
Excellent point!
I thought the same thing!!
And the first question on the list was when she could have her phone , so she obviously didn’t go there thinking she was on,y there to get her phone back
💯
@@majesticmythicalsart7563 Oh. Well that changes things. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt because I don't like cops. But if she came with that question.... Yeah nah
There's a big difference between doing your own makeup well and doing someone else's. I doubt anyone from the law firm notice how to do someone else's makeup.
For someone who was only there to pick up a phone, she had that list of questions ready.

Peter, please accept my compliments on your acumen for your professionalism as a lawyer. I have appreciated your input/comments especially focusing on the issues, legal standards, evidence and case law. As a legal professional, I am enjoying your content, observations and opinions. Thank you. Keep up the grand work, as well as including Whitney, your wife, in conversations. IMO I can clearly see why she has gone through 8 lawyers with her "tirades/demands", narcissistic antics and lies and that this Judge and these prosecutors will obtain justice for Jorge and his family.
Great breakdown on the hearing.
I’m glad this trial is close to getting underway.

She should have been worried about what happened to Jorge as any 'reasonable and prudent' person would be but not Sarah who was hungover and had cotton mouth aka dehydration and thus the need for WATER
But 0 worry about her dead boyfriend...
She has an INCREDIBLY high blink rate on the stand. Even when I slowed it to normal, it's very high.
I hope Brian can get back child support for all this time he’s been the sole provider.
Love the channel in particular I appreciate that you don’t sling hate at all like so many channels do.
Sarah was “worried about her son”?? She hadn’t seen Lukas in almost a week? What a LIAR!!!
Haven’t you heard? Sarah Boone is such “a wonderful mother to her son” ~ Sarah Boone circa 2020
First time in 4 years she mentions her son or dog...
This is crazy! I love it when defendants change their story and have their own words used against them
This is freaking wild !!!
I absolutely LOVE hearing your perspective of hearings, Peter. It’s fascinating to hear your thoughts after I have watched independently. Thanks for all you do!
Great summary looking forward to Monday ..prayers to all who suffered the hurricane ...we in Africa having an awful drought
UGH! The Judge got this right. The Cop said we have to do this meaning reading the rights again. Re-watch the interrogation. We have to do this pertained to Miranda not questioning
I also think the “we” may have meant the detectives, Scott and Chelsea???
That was my impression as well!
That is exactly right. That statement Owen’s has twisted completely and I’m surprised nobody brought it up. I hope the Judge caught that.
@@MR-gl9xu good point!
Great point
Sarah kept saying, “You tricked me!”, over and over again. She’s been salty over it for years, nobody was buying what she was selling. This is all Sarah, she wants the interrogation challenged and Owens is doing his best to give her what she wants. She can not be convinced she can not talk her way out of this. Sarah will absolutely blame Owens when she’s convicted.
She also stated, "It wasn't supposed to be like this" when the detectives called her out on going upstairs and not letting Jorge out.
@@cassmar1519BAM! No battered spouse defense. You nailed it, my friend

The detective said she never told SB when she was getting her phone back and didnt speak to her that night but that they discussed her coming into the station the next day. Which is completely normal...they would ask her to come in the next day to give an official statement or to discuss whatever.
For a woman with her background with alcohol use it is shocking that she doesn't know what "impaired" means
Even her timeline is bs. She says:
-Called 911 at almost 1 pm
-Was held at the scene for over 10 hours
-Called the detective from Brian's phone, at his house, at 9 or 10 pm
And in his motion Owens said she was detained on scene for 14 hours.

I wish they could have used that sincere love to fuel their desire to stop drinking and focus on living a sober life 👍
We are all human, have vices and make stupid mistakes
She definitely should be fairly held accountable as determined by this jury and judge 👍
Rewatch crew here! Just did the same search on the florida bar site and it has since been updated and he is now eligible...someone is watching 😂
Cannot wait to see your video on this! We now know she shouldn’t testify cause she cornered herself and crumbles on question 1 from the state!
This channel is so informative and you present the information in a way that's really easy to understand and engage with.
Also, it's hugely refreshing that you keep your content free of politics and religion and you always keep you commentary kind and focused on education.
Thank you for all your time and hard work. ❤
Me, too. Casey Anthony got me doing deep dives, and Peter is helping me understand many things about the system
Once the detective said “ the 9th question wasn’t on my Miranda card”
Seemed like Owens knew that the argument about the detective not asking the last question was done
He was definitely shocked 😂 I wish I could have seen the cartoon like double take when he said “. . . Uh, what?!?”
That was an absolutely precious moment in this hearing. Owens did NOT expect that and you could tell by his response!

He said one of those paralegals was now an attorney - I would be PISSED if I spent all the time and money going to law school just to be asked to do Sarah's hair and makeup! If she wants lipstick she can suck on skittles like Lori Vallow 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
