I don't find myself subscribing to many creators nowadays. I admittedly clicked on this video (after watching your adjustment clip video) thinking this was going to be a basic video about using keyframes and a blur effect with more keyframes--the way I usually do this (I came from years of Sony Vegas). You showed me how to do this in a completely different way which will save me so much time in the future, and you broke it down so easily showing me functions I didn't know existed in the fusion tab. Seriously, thank you, you earned my sub!
MrAlex, excellent, thank you! The benefit I like is you'll never have to suffer, er, enjoy the Transition Rejection Syndrome where a Transition won't seat into your existing two clips. Appreciate you sharing how to make this effect and save it!
Transition Rejection Syndrome is scary ! I'm also suffering from Transition Rejection Syndrome . Till now no medicine has been found. Research is ongoing.
Giday Mate, John here from Brisbane Australia, I've had Davinci Resolve for about 3 months now so still a newbie. Just wanted to thank you for your great videos Cheers John
Man!! BlackMagic team must sponsor you for each of these videos since you are creating such professional tutorials for their software that even they can't do. Thankyou so much Alex for these videos. The effort and time you put in video is clearly visible. Really grateful for helping us all, brother. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou so much. I can just say thankyou many more times and still feels less 😅 Thankyou, again. 😬
Alex, I just watched two similar promos of Audiio. One was a pre-roll that UA-cam shows as an ad before the video and the same one - in your video itself. A bit of a deja-vu moment :) I swear, I didn't skip the ad :) Thank you for another great tutorial!
Just made your transition. Really amazing. Had a similar effect. This with five (text)photos in succession and only then the new (text)photo. That's why you are the Real Professional and I'm still a very small beginner that I'm very happy with. Thank you Alex. Have a nice weekend with your wife.
i absolutely love simple effects and transitions... and the fact that you can start with just a simple "adjustment Layer" and build even more with just that one layer makes this transition a top tier transition... no third party plugins or complicated fusion antics... I personally would LOVE to learn more of these types of transitions/effects seeing how i'm coming from adobe premiere/after effects
I've been looking for something like this for a long time, for adobe premier there are many presets of this kind but for Davinci I haven't found it yet. Thanks for the video. Great work as always!
Hey,Alex ! Love from India! You are a great teacher. Am new to editing but, still am able to get a grasp of the steps quite easily.Thank you for these videos man!
Excellent video, thank you again MrAlex! One note: on DaVinci Resolve 17 I had to change from "Transition" to "Duration" on the Anim Curves transform, otherwise it simply "did nothing" - no idea why, so just an FYI in case it's not just some "magic" I have achieved. Good vibes o7
Great video .. I was afraid to even try the Fusion page becouse after watching few videos, it looked very intimidating so I did not bother. But this video broke the barrier and helped me understand the basics of Fusion by following your clear instructions to create my first project. Many thanks.
Hi, great video. I am having an issue. When I follow the instructions and change the distance to Anim Curves, the video clips disappear, and I just see the transparency screen. If I play the clip I don't see the clip moving. Not sure what I am doing wrong? Cheers
Thx , i might actually start learning to make these now. I knew transition effects are in its own world. Practically avoiding it 😂. Great video i’ll use this to get going on them. Thx bro!
This is good timing as I'm trying to improve my transitions. One thing I'm struggling to figure out is having a side panel come in from the left to put text on (like youve done a video on previously). But at the same time it moving the footage to the right at the same pace to keep me centralised still with remaining screen space. I'm sure there's a way with transitions or something similar but can't figure it out!
Use an adjustment clip above both of them to move the side panel into place. If you are then not centred properly, use transform keyframes on only that clip to move it the other way/move it more
Beautiful! I love it - I've been looking for just this effect, to work on multiple tracks at once, and the adjustment clip is the way to do it, thanks!
Great tut Alex, I wish you would make one tutorial for an adjustable drop and bounce transition as well, thanks in advance. (the default version in DR is not adjustable)
Alex -- I learned a bit this from you a while ago, and I have a dozen of them in my power bin as a result. (Thanks!!!) This however, shows me several things that I needed to take them to the next level. I can't wait to do it! One thing I don't understand from the video is why the second clip shows up on the LHS before the midpoint of the adjustment clip? And one thing I REALLY wish I could do with this is to bring the two clips below I'm transitioning to Can we access the two videos in the video below when making a transition, or are we only able to do transitions for whatever "the sum" of the video is and "adjust" it? After a lot of experimentation, I assume that's not an option, but maybe the answer to the previous question will help with that. My goal is to build a bunch of adjustment clips to make still video montages super easy.
Great tutorial, thanks much! I have a small issues, wondering if you can help? When I lengthen/shorten the adjustment clip, the transition doesn't stretch. In fact it acts really wonky. Any advice? Cheers!
Hi Alex - thanks for this. I know its old now, but still good though, yes.? Am trying to follow along here with DR19.1 Free. I get to 2:59 and as soon as I select 'Anim Curves' (right-click on 'Distance ->modify widths ->Anim Curves), the panel doesn't fold-up closed (like in your vid), the 'Distance' setting slider shoots over to the right. The value now reads 1.0 and the dot next to it turns red. I can't move/drag the slider. I do see both this panel and the 'Anim Curves on Vector on Transform1' panel folded open below. There is no longer any image at all in the viewer (yours shows a half frame visible). Pressing play just shows an empty viewer. Nothing I do from there correlates to the rest of your tutorial... Boo.! Any clues please.?
Hey Mr. Alex Tech first i wanna say thanks for all your helpful tutorials you helped me already a lot. now i wanted to create your whip and pan transitions in my power bins as presets. i have only one problem. everything in my transition works fine until i change it from canvas to wrap to fill the empty space with the previous clip. its filling the empty space not with the previous clip its using the actual clip and switches harsch in the middle of the transition to the 2nd clip. do you know what the problem could be that its not filling the empty space correctly? anyone else has this problem? thanks for helping.
This is great, thank you! I was struggling somewhat with video transitions when the part before and/or after the transition has more than one video track. A compound clip would be an obvious solution, but that introduces new problems. For example if you don't want to add the audio to the compound clip but do want to retain the ability to easily synchronize audio and video. The best solution I had found thus far is to add a transition to each video track. This works (at least for simple transitions) but is time-consuming. Another solution is to stop (start) elements on higher video tracks just before (after) the transition starts (ends).
Really good tutorial! I'm having an issue with the end/start of each clip appearing twice in the transition whereas yours seems to have a clean transition between both clips do you know what i could be doing wrong? - Have you got somewhere I could potentially send you a screen grab so you can see what I mean? Any help would be great!
Cool! For some reasons though, the thing wouldn't work for me until I set source to "duration" (instead of "transition"). Then it runs smooth. Is it a bug or something about my fusion settings?
Another great tutorial! Yes - more transitions, please! You do the best tutorials! Thank you!
What a simple but amazingly effective transition, thank you for explaining it so well.
Your explanations are very clear! It really helps us on our channel. Thank you!
Would love to see more transitions please, you are legit the only UA-camr who makes danvici make sense.
Another great video Alex, thanks a bunch!
Major helpful! I literally pulled up Resolve while watching it through cold and made the transitions you demoed. Going to be great working with those!
Los mejor y simples tutoriales. Gracias Alex

Ziet er geweldig uit.
Eerst even dineren en daarna de transitie maken.

Just made your transition. Really amazing.

A great and simple way of creating a transition.
Keep it up Alex! I can’t get enough of these tutorials.

Thanks for the video. Great work as always!
U got the best davinci video`s out there. Can u make a few with 3d objects like a dragon u can move as a anime?
Hey,Alex ! Love from India! You are a great teacher. Am new to editing but, still am able to get a grasp of the steps quite easily.Thank you for these videos man!
Great tutorial as always. Thanks for making my experience to learn Davinci Resolve that much easier.
You are my favorite DaVinci UA-camr ❤
Excellent video, thank you again MrAlex! One note: on DaVinci Resolve 17 I had to change from "Transition" to "Duration" on the Anim Curves transform, otherwise it simply "did nothing" - no idea why, so just an FYI in case it's not just some "magic" I have achieved. Good vibes o7
I'm on 18.5 and I also had to change it to duration, odd!
@@samohara5187 the same to me!
Same here!
Thanks for that, saved me some frustration xD (v18.6)
Amazing tutorial Alex. I just learned today that you can build transitions using adjustment clips thanks to your video !
Great tutorial more of these would be much appreciated.
Absolutely Fantastic instructions, this was really easy to follow
boi you make this so much easier TY i love ya face
Cool tutorial. Liked it. Waiting for more :)
Alex you got me on the cont-d , did not know that, you should many more subs than 157k, great work
really nice this vector stuff, kicked out the other transitions i had before, yours are actually scalable.
As usual, extremely well done tutorial. Thank you so much Alex. 🙂
Amazing tutorial! I feel so empowered now. Really appreciate you!
Great transition. Thanks so much. Yes why not more transition.
Great vıdeo as always, sir! And, yes, PLEASE more transitions!!

Awesome! More transitions vids, please. Thanks
This video was super helpful! Helps me visualize different ways of messing around with modifiers and how important they’re 😎
OMG!!! Thank you. so easy to understand. Now practice :)
Yes! More simple transition please! 😃🤘🤘
Great video. It would be great with more simple transitions. Thanks for your channel.
More preset videos plz!!! Great video, Alex
Will have to make notes of this process.
Hi, great video. I am having an issue. When I follow the instructions and change the distance to Anim Curves, the video clips disappear, and I just see the transparency screen. If I play the clip I don't see the clip moving. Not sure what I am doing wrong? Cheers
Love the tutorial, just having the same issue

Nice one Alex. I'm gonna head off and create myself some of those 👍😊
dude you are the best )) tnx
Your videos are a big contribution to my video editing journey. Thank you so much ✨✨✨✨✨🙏
superb tutorial, thanks for providing. sooooo helpful 👍
Just awesome, like always!
Thank you. I struggled with this all weekend
Another great tutorial!
The stuff about how to use modifiers is especially interesting and kinda next level for me...
🙏
Great work flow. Really enjoyed it. Will work with those transitions. Thanks.
Always fun and useful. Thanks Alex.
Thank you for this video!🍀
Best Explanation Alex Bhaiya !! Davinci is soo soo much easier than Premiere Pro.
Who loves ya, babe! Awesome video, as always.
This is good timing as I'm trying to improve my transitions.

@LewisJJC thanks. I will experiment. I was hoping to be able to move the footage to the left and right without keyframing it, but it no big deal.
Fantastic! Thanks Alex!
You spelling "Wipp" wrong 😂 Great video as usual!
Ha! If you don't have a Wipp Pan Transition pack yet you're missing a trick dude 😆👍
@@MrAlexTech oh just you wait until Monday. Not a transition pack but it might have a WippPan in it 🙄
WE WANT MORE TRANSITIONS AND sfx to use in those cases
Great tips. Thank you Alex.
Awesome, Alex - thank you 😁🙏🏻🤟
very good stuff again Alex Thank you
AWESOME! As always!
Amazing video! Straight to the point, very helpful. Thank you!
Damn, this is F-ing amazing, thanks
Don’t ever change, keep transitioning though!
Beautiful! I love it - I've been looking for just this effect, to work on multiple tracks at once, and the adjustment clip is the way to do it, thanks!
Amazing Alex! 💯💯💯
Great tut Alex, I wish you would make one tutorial for an adjustable drop and bounce transition as well, thanks in advance. (the default version in DR is not adjustable)
Good stuff!
Wow! Great stuff!
What's the benefit of creating a whip using adjustment clips as opposed to just using the push transition
Wow. NICE!
so whats better? creating all your transitions as adjustment clips or as macro transition saves?
this video is fire
Love this tutorial and all your content. Thank you!

Yeaa you can but only if you build them as proper fusion transitions. You can't do that if you're using this adjustment clip method
Great tutorial, thanks much! I have a small issues, wondering if you can help? When I lengthen/shorten the adjustment clip, the transition doesn't stretch. In fact it acts really wonky. Any advice? Cheers!

Just use “dissolve blur“… I believe it does the same thing!
So helpfull Thanks!!
If I add an audio dash audio can I save this transition with that too
Nope unfortunately not! But just save some whip audio in your Power bin so its always there ready to go!
Don’t use motion blur, add in a directional blur node then set degrees to whatever direction you want to go… In this case 180.
Hey Mr. Alex Tech first i wanna say thanks for all your helpful tutorials you helped me already a lot. now i wanted to create your whip and pan transitions in my power bins as presets. i have only one problem. everything in my transition works fine until i change it from canvas to wrap to fill the empty space with the previous clip. its filling the empty space not with the previous clip its using the actual clip and switches harsch in the middle of the transition to the 2nd clip. do you know what the problem could be that its not filling the empty space correctly? anyone else has this problem? thanks for helping.
cool !!!
Love me some whipans 😏
A distortion effect would be nice, not quite a glitch, but more. like. a distorted screen transition/effect.
so whats better, creating all your transitions as a adjustment clip or creating the transitions as a macro save transition?
Thanks a lot!, well done!
for some reason, under Anum curve, curve shape, Source, i had to put duration instead of transition to make it work, i dunno why
is it possible to add a swoosh audio to the fusion comp itself?
This is great, thank you! I was struggling somewhat with video transitions when the part before and/or after the transition has more than one video track.
