This is the easiest to understand tutorial I have seen. I gave up and have away all my yarn and hooks. I'm going to buy a new set of hooks and yarn and go for it again. Many years ago when a teenager, a friends mother taught me how to knit left-handed by me watching her knit in a mirror. Thanks to you, I am having so much fun learning to crochet !!

After trying (and failing) for years to learn how to crochet correctly from my right-handed cousin, I became discouraged and gave up. This video has allowed me the chance to finally see where I always messed up!! Hopefully I can get started crocheting again soon. Maybe now my dish cloths and hot pads won't look like crinkly waffles anymore! Thank you SO MUCH for these lefty tutorials!
My partner has always been amazed at people who can crochet. She once tried to knit a scarf it only took her 4 years bless. Mind you it is the best scarf in my opinion. Even if we live in Queensland Australia. Everyone says try crochet its quicker now i can show her this and she is a lefty too. Thank you so much for this intro cant wait to see the outcome.

Thank you for posting this. I'm left handed and watching your video certainly has taught me to learn how to crochet left handed. It's very simple once you learn the stitches albeit my work is a little tight at the moment. I suppose with time my crocheting will get better and I will loose that tightness.
I can't thank you enough for this tutorial! My grandmother tried to teach me when I was really young, but her only means of describing it lefthanded was "do everything I do except in reverse". Didn't work so well back then, and the thought of her trying to teach me now is cringeworthy, so I thought I was just out of luck. sprunger365 I taught my left handed sister how to crochet and I'm right handed, there is literally absolutely no difference besides the fact that your crocheting with your left hand. My sister does all the patterns I've been doing for years and she hasn't had a single issue, because there's absolutely NO NEED FOR MODIFYING THE PATTERN. It's the same pattern you're just doing it with your left hand.

I was 11 when I asked my Oma to teach me how to crochet. she tried and tried to teach me right handed. I have to commend her perseverance ; I am so dominantly left handed that the entire right side of my body is notably weaker than the left, so much so, that I have a hard time holding a pen or toothbrush etc. in my right hand. Eventually my grandmother got frustrated by my lack of use in my right hand, that she gave up and taught me to knit instead! I am still hell bent on learning to crochet though, and thanks so much to your video, I can easily follow along and learn!!
Thank you for this video series. I listened and watched the beginning about starting the chain. You explain how to do the first loop by wrapping the yarn around in a "clockwise" manner. I think you actually wrap it "counter clockwise."

I am struggling but I won't give up and even take notes to get the beginning sequences right. This is hilarious! I am hopelessly left handed, but learned to crochet right handed because there was no lefty to teach me, and there was no such thing as UA-cam 30 years ago. I just started crocheting again recently after doing nothing for about 18 years. Tonight I thought it would be awesome to learn to crochet left handed, thinking that I could alternate hands each row, creating projects that truly have front and back sides. I CANNOT CROCHET WITH MY LEFT HAND TO SAVE MY LIFE! Doing it right handed is ingrained in my brain! 😂

My Omi tried to teach me too but also gave up, while my opi was proud of my first row i was able to do at least.

Thank you for the video. I am a lefty and wanted to try something different. I come from a family of artists on my mother's side. She did some knitting. This was my first try at crochet. I am struggling but I won't give up and even take notes to get the beginning sequences right. Still end up pulling everything out and starting over, eventually with fresh yarn after the first yarn starts to frey

This is hilarious! I am hopelessly left handed, but learned to crochet right handed because there was no lefty to teach me, and there was no such thing as UA-cam 30 years ago. I just started crocheting again recently after doing nothing for about 18 years.
Tonight I thought it would be awesome to learn to crochet left handed, thinking that I could alternate hands each row, creating projects that truly have front and back sides.
I CANNOT CROCHET WITH MY LEFT HAND TO SAVE MY LIFE! Doing it right handed is ingrained in my brain! 😂
