  • A Meatzza simply uses a meat crust. We use hamburger and sausage for this crust and then top with our favorite pizza toppings. It's a great substitute for pizza even if you have to use a knife and fork.

      I wonder if a recipe like this one would have too much proteins that can after be transformed onto glucose.

    Wow. That looks amazing. I have been doing "Pizza Topping" on my keto diet. I just brown the hamburger in a skillet, add dried minced onion and garlic, salt, pepper, pizza seasoning and diced pepperoni. Warm through and smother with mozzarella cheese, lower the heat, add the lid and let it melt. I just dish it on a plate with a side salad and enjoy. It's similar, but I hate to cook and get done faster, so it works well for me.😀

    I made this using a mixture of 8 oz 90/10 ground sirloin and 8oz of bulk sausage for the crust. I found a low carb pizza sauce recipe that I tweaked. I used ¼ cup of the sauce on the cooked crust, then topped with mozzarella slices, sliced baby Bella mushrooms, sliced green olives, and pepperoni before popping it back into the oven to heat through and melt the cheese. YUMMM!

    Thank You Kristie, you do a great job and are very motivating. I just subscribed a couple of days ago and look forward to seeing more of your work, but... No finished product after 15.5 minutes of watching??? OMG Pleeeeeease! That is massive torture and let down... sorry, just true.
    Oh and just a question, how much of that pizza can you actually eat? I mean a 1" slice would probably put me over on my macros for the day! I make a crazy good LCHF pizza with a crunchy yummy coconut flour crust that does not taste like coconut, but very Italian and like real wheat crust, however 1 slice takes most of my macros and even though I load it, I do not load it even half as much as yours. I can see where this would be good for the kids and maybe even your husband, but can you eat it and still be able to eat for the day? Because this may be LCHF, but keto is also moderate protein. LOL no moderate protein here!

I am slowly converting my cooking methods/recipes to keto so as not to be too much of a sudden and dramatic change to my family. So far, so good!Thank you for all of your hard work and being such a great inspiration to us all. Many blessings to you.

  • @RockTheCage55
    @RockTheCage55 7 років тому

    Made this tonight and wanted to leave some feedback. I made a philly cheesteak version which was VERY good. I would have to say it was the best low carb pizza i've tried. I don't like the cauliflower crusts, and thought the fathead pizza was good but not outstanding. So i definitely will make it again. Here are the issues i iran into. I did use 1 pound 80/20 instead of a beef/italian sausage mix and used a medium size cast iron pan. I pushed it up the sized just like you. 1st when you prebake the crust i think you said 375 for 30 minutes which i feel is way to long. I used 350 (with a convection oven) and 15 minutes was plenty. Another thing is the shrinkage of the patty was a lot. The crust did not go all the way to the edges. I think next time i will use 1.25-1.5 pounds instead. There was a pool of oil after this too. I decided to leave it in but that was the wrong decision. After putting the toppings on i baked it at 350 (convection again) for 25 minutes which i feel was to long. Next time i'll probably reduce it by 5 minutes.

    I bought a 20lb chuck roast, and ground my own meat, the burgers taste like a steak burger. I didn't know that when we buy ground meat, its not chuck, unless it's on the package. I went a few years without even buying ground beef, I would buy ground turkey, that got old. I use my Ninja, but it takes time, I really need a electric meat grinder. Add that to the list of things I need.

    • @CookingKetowithKristie
      @CookingKetowithKristie  9 років тому +2

      Welcome to low carb high fat! Typical is hard to explain! lol!
      breakfast is usually a fatty meat Iike sausage or bacon or both! I like burgers with cheese and bacon for breakfast. sometimes I eat a low carb pancake or low carb biscuit. I generally eat a bit meal in the morning, eat a smaller lunch, and smallest dinner. I don't eat at least 12 hours between dinner and breakfast. also, I rarely snack between meals, going at least 4-5 hours between meals or eating only two meals a day.
      lunch could be burger with cheese and bacon or salad and fatty meat, homemade chicken salad or salmon salad or leftovers from dinner. my meal planning videos will give you an idea of what we eat for dinner. my rule of thumb is never go over 20 total grams carbs per day and rarely do I eat more than 7 total grams carbs at any meal. hope that helps!!!

      I don't think I said it has fewer carbs, but what I intended was that it has more intense flavor and it absorbs some of the fat as it reconstitutes. unfortunately, there are times when I'm trying to explain something and pay attention to what I'm doing and it's very easy to be unclear or to miss speak.
