Love how the pup is so good at performing receiving duties when the truck arrives.
So much for Brian's vacation!
@AlanW He probably got sunburned from all the nudity!
Exactly what I thought lol
Probably needs a vacation, he's gonna have a big job slating the roof plus creating and installing the flashing and guttering system for it.
@@ralphnoneofyourbusiness7258I’m gonna need photographical evidence, for the sake of science.

Prince Noggins found a comfortable chair to view the kingdom!
I think it’s Princess Noggins 😂
Does she look well? She seems a little fatigued...
Please mind them pups around thoses big lorries,an accident can happen in a minute.
Love the puppy’s supervising chair/throne 😂😂😂😂😂
Whoever is on the camera does a superb job - good perspective, good pacing, attractive alternate views, crisp sound recording, expert use of available light, following the work flow, including incidentals etc.
By all appearances a lot of these cameras (apart from the head-worn go pros) are static and are actually moved around by Dan and the lads as they go. I guess it's all in the edits. I've been watching the blog for 3 years now and only saw a cameraman when they were recording things for terrestrial TV.
@@fletcher2311cat also does stuff.

Dan filmed himself working at La Lande and renovating the family house. He built his filming experience then. Does anyone remember the kitchen renovation back then?

Brian couldnt hold himself back anymore from a good days work and had help you guys out!
The truth is they couldn't manage without Brian. :)
I think these 3 boys have some good fun bantering back and forth in good humor🎉 they have to have some fun with this hard work😂
Block by block as the mighty tower rises from the ashes. Mighty fine job lads. Keep safe
Apparently a dog's life . Bless your backs men .
I am so happy that Brian helped you today. You guys are so awesome.
Bad moon risin…works. So excited to watch the progress and teamwork.
With the work you guys have done, transforming a ruin that only Dan would buy into what it is today is a miracle. There is so much more to go, but normal builders can see the value in it now. Amazing
I am 83 and can really appreciate the strength it takes Nick to quietly come each day and work right up there with the younger menM🎉
Oh yes… I am really only 82
I just love how you just keep pushing forward through thick and thin, never stopping. Never quitting. Pretty amazing.
What the most you have had on site to help you. Incredible effort with primarily 3 when an army would have built the Chateau in the 1st instance
How exciting .you are so close to yet another victory in hauling the poor old broken down structure back to glorious health.❤
I see Brian has adopted the dan technique cement mixing 😂
😂❤ I noticed that as well
When in Rome 😅
Good morning team ❤
The race to the top is on…
And what a amazing race to watch !! ….This grand old lady is coming back from the brink of death to rise above and stand proud on her hill …
Amazing achievement guys …
See you tomorrow ❤❤❤
Oh that baby Puppy. Watching Brian working and sending love....😍😍😍😍
The pup has the right idea. The chair must be calling for one or all of you!😂
What a great spot for an observatory. The kids will love that!
I can see your excitement now by putting another block to the finish line. It is like a puzzle, putting together these little pieces. Job well done
Good day from the Netherlands, today’s my first day back home after last weeks wednesdays open haert surgery.
Wishing you well!
Wow! Glad you are back home and pray you heal up faster and better than you hope for :)

The completed heights, just keep melting my heart over and over again. I joined this young man's channel back when all of this progress was a/only a dream. I am so grateful that I chose to subscribe to this amazing dream!

Good to see Brian back on the job. No rest for the weary.
That tower would make a wonderful Observatory… 💋
He just couldn’t stay away. You are such a good team.
Nick picks those blocks up like they were Legos!
That last shot of the view was very exciting!
Gooood morning everyone from Gold Coast Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
What a view. You’re the King of the Mountain now. Woohoo! 🙌
The higher you reach, the more challenging it is to rebuild. Exciting times at your chateau! 🇨🇦❤️
I watched the channel 4 program help we bought a village. Great to see you all with Kat and Calvin, Nick and Brian. The Popek interview was very moving. Excellent work as always. 😊
I watch the 2 guys and their village too. Now on UA-cam..I am in US
I can’t find Dan on this series. What series and episode is it? My virgin media only has up to series 3
I need to watch that now😢
@@CoyoteMTB77 episode 8 I think
Season 3, episodes 6, 7 and 8.
Nice to see you on TV this week, today was an emotional episode revisiting that lovely mans childhood at the château
I'm in the US but would love to be able to watch the show. Do you know if they show it online by chance?
@@QuiltyNana Sorry I don’t know but if you follow Dan you can watch all of his videos since he bought the château. The TV show is showing what we have mostly watched on Dans channel except the lovely interview today. Maybe Dan will upload that part at some point, it was quite special.
@@gingerbiscuit4871 Thank you! I thought maybe it was more of the history of the chateau. I have watched Dan's UA-cam since they discovered the chateau and before. Thanks so much for the information.
Brian just stay there with your puppy. You're needed😂
Wow Dan the view is amazing. The 3 of you work so well together. You've all done a fantastic job rebuilding your Chateau. Can't wait to see how beautiful it will look when your finally done. Keep up the brilliant work, thanks for taking us on this journey with you.
"Lift that Block, Lift that Pail.......get a lil drunk......and ya land in jail"............my best "Ole Man River" impersonation. 😁
It's amazing how far you've come this summer. I'm hoping to see a Christmas star at the top of the turret in a couple of months!
It would definitely be seen for miles!
I finally get the alert and able to watch it along with everyone else!
1:30 best supervisor ever 😊😊😊😊
Hiya Dan ❤❤❤ 🙋🏻♀️🐾🐶🐾🐶🐶. You guys are really pushing on now
Puppy and you cleaning the cement mixer….. unheard of!!! I remember in the beginning you gave Billy Petherick a hard time for having a clean machine, glad you’ve gone over to the other side 😆 not much longer and you’ll be done with those blocks❤
He still has to block up above the timber door on one of the wings
Can’t wait to see the turret roof to go on! So excited!!😊
I actually don't. The view is too good and roof will block it.
@@sonarsphere Original turret roof had windows on all four sides, so once they build it, the view of the valley will still be there.
@@sonarsphere There will be WINDOWS, silly!
Big Dan, you're at the top of the world!! We'll see ya tomorrow!!
Brian, thank you for helping.
That tower is going to be magnificent, even more...
Supervisor on that comfy leather chair making sure the cement gets mixed right.
Look at how far it’s come Dan! Excellent teamwork! 🎉
Are you going to mark the reconstruction finish date?
My dad, with any new cement work on a build, was dated with a coin of the year of work. I've carried on the tradition when he and I built a 2 car garage. A few years later, my wife and I built our forever home in 2007 using the coin marker counter sunk to the surface to still expose the coin to see the date.
I wish my dad would have been able to see it, but he passed 2 years before we started the build.
For you, your boys will be able to see videos from beginning to end of your astounding achievements.
Enjoy the chateau with family and friends once you have finished.
Well I am exhausted now just watching everyone lifting the cinder blocks.. And totally impressed! love.. love the puppies..Getting so excited ..soon we will see what a finished silhouette of the chateau will look like .. getting so close now!
That VIEW !!!! 💎, 👍Thanks for that
The view is breathtaking. Thank u for allowing us to tag along with u.
That view is spectacular! Congratulations with the continuing progress.
Great job boys. I love 'Brian's little dog' supervising from the comfort of an armchair xx
Kicking butt and taking names team work at its finest. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
So wonderful that you will have such a great record of the work. Every new video is a gift.
You should build the cap to the tower on the ground ( frame/plywood/shingles) and have it craned upto the top and fitted to it. You could build the tower cap on the ground in a fraction of the time it would take building it in place on top and it would also be much, much safer. The only logistical issue would be to make sure you could get a crane onto the property and close enoughto the building.
I agree... otherwise he'll kill half of us through fear just watching his high wire act!
A helicopter would work too. I'm sure someone will sponsor Dan for the advertising. ❤🎉
I love the fact that you came up with that.
Are you an engineer? Your brain makes me think you are 😊🥂
Was thinking the same. Build it on the ground, crane the whole finished thing onto the turret.
Good idea. It could be done that way, but would take a lot of crane. I think they would rather build in place to help with costs and to allow minor adjustments to fit along the way.
Have you considered building the roof on a jig on the ground and then hiring a 60 ton crane for a single lift to place the roof on top?
You could have the entire thing built, sheathed and tiled before the lift.
Save yourself a metric shit ton of time and effort plus there is the additional safety of working on the ground.
Great idea. He might be able to have the slate installed before lifting. Can you imagine the structure, slate, and interior insulation all done before lifting.
Yes, I think a crane is a very good idea. Many years ago where I lived we had a tower attached onto our home and the top section had to be lifted by a crane truck. It was quite nerve-racking and funny at the same time. It was a round section and it started spinning…….
thankfully, all came together.❤ but with your job, he would need a giant crane, I think!
Literally came to comments to suggest that. 😂
Dan,Nick,Brian my loves. The turret is looking better and better. Soon hopefully you will start on each floor. Hang in there guys. Until tomorrow. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🕊🌈❤️🇺🇸👍😇🙏🌞🌹
Keep strong lads, you are almost there.
Your puppy is gorgeous with such a cute little face lying down happily on the armchair. Well done it was really hard work getting those concrete blocks up, good they were not solid! Fantastic views. It's all very exciting. Xxxx❤❤❤❤
But will blocks that are not solid be able to handle the weight that is about to go on them???
@@jlotoo850 I feel we can bet that Dan has that all figured out.
@@jlotoo850Perhaps the weight is not going onto the blocks. Perhaps it will stand on the area of ring beam not covered by the blocks.
Dont forget your lightning conductor... dont want it burning down again!
Can I just say one more time how very impressed I am by the scope of work you young men have taken on. It is amazing and inspiring how you have dived into this major rebuilding of the Chateau. I hope you are the beginning if a trend of people not being afraid of hard graft to achieve a great goal!
Again, Congratulations on a job really well begun! Keep the Faith! Stay strong!
To excited to see the building complete 🎉

Look at that Dan has made such significant progress with the turret, wow, greater work, Dan and crew.

60! Thank goodness for the lift! But still so many steps!!
Another adventure for the day ✨️

I think the Tower would be my favorite Place , with the view i dont care about any terrace. Beautiful up there. Greeting from Berlin.
It is fun to watch the construction of the tower, as it has been watching every episode of this rebuild. What I love most is seeing the relationship that has been built during this time. Not to mention you all work together like a well oiled machine. Great job!
I can´t wait to see the turret completed. Amazing work!!! Please consider making longer daily videos
Please don't add to his pressure--we are all just glad he is allowing us to see what they are doing. I am sure once the roof is on, he will make tehm longer. Right now he is in a big PUSH to get everything closed in by winter.
I just finished watching nhi. Remarkable is the only word that can describe what you have accomplished in 2 years and I've watched from the beginning. It was also nice to see Orange Pants Man when you tackled the main floor of debris. Simply REMARKABLE!
Hi Nick, Dan & Brian & sometimes Cat. This channel is my absolute favorite as it is so down to earth real! Great job you all including the pups. Love from Pam in London

Wow, Dan actually cleaning out the cement mixer. I had to go back and watch that again. I wasn’t sure what I was seeing
It’s cos it’s new and shiny😂
My arms and back are aching for you guys...that's a helluva work out, but you young whippersnappers got dis...CHEERS...!
Coming on in leaps and bounds now! So exciting that the roof will be complete soon. What an achievement!
Congrats on the channel 4 coverage! And also, congrats on getting a good start on the turret. Thanks for sharing. :)
Well done, guys. I really do hope the weather remains on your side for a few more weeks.
I saw another restoration where they also had a turret with a steep roof. They built the whole "cap" of the roof down on the ground and then used a crane to lift it into place; it made the whole process considerably easier and safer (because I KNOW safety is your #1 priority at all times, haha). If you guys did that, you could make some sort of hook or something coming out of the top of the roof to lift it, and once it's all installed, that could serve as a lightning rod too.....? Just thinking aloud to try to help you brainstorm haha. Best of luck to you and the team!
I suggest that you build a platform/floor level with the top of the new block structure. You can use blocks to support the iron rails and allow you to insert temporary flooring and noggins. I know that this is the second time I’ve suggested but I am concerned that the roof construction will be high risk otherwise. Regards, Hank
What a beautiful view you have Dan 😊
I've been watching you on ch4. It seems such a long time ago but actually what you've achieved in a relatively short time is nothing short of a miracle! Go Dan and the team. I'm hooked 😁👍
