It probably wouldn't scale down for miniatures, but I use a 'pontoon rig' I made, which has a central collar that sits around a paintbrush so I can paint the thinnest line with the very tip. The outriggers can be slid so that I can't distort the shape of the brush tip, and they're just two short pencils with rounded tips that I coated in silicone so I can't damage the surface. The jig is a strip with three small rings for the central brush and the pencils. You can put a small hex bolt in each ring to tighten everything securely.
The Nerd Forge and Table Top Time logos on the purity seals was a great touch! I loved seeing you be able to work with other UA-camrs to make something epic.
Honestly, after seeing how much the big video affected Dave. This video looks like it was genuinely healing for him. He looked so happy, and looked like he was having the best time. Thank you NerdForged for helping the man.
@@soraiadias6425 the “big video” was them announcing they will be going from full time UA-camrs to part-time. They love their job but it’s not sustaining them at this time unfortunately
Literally stopped watching the video from NerdForge, came and watched this for the full painting video, then when back to NerdForge 😂. Love that you guys got to meet!!!
Totally awesome and what an amazing gesture from a lovely couple. Love their channel so this co lab is very special. Hope we get to see Martina and Hansi at TTT in Australia.
Good to see the fun back in ttt. Having a laugh has always been its strongpoint. Really enjoyed seeing real smiles back on the faces of Dave and Jen. Long May it last!
Fun fact (or not): The city close to Nerd Forge HQ has a latin slogan: «In Fide Et Justitia Fortitudo» which roughly translates to «In Faith and Justice (lies) Strength» … which honestly sounds like something out of 40k ..
Soooo rude of them to just show up in Norway like this, unannounced, and right next to my *birthplace* to boot!! The amazing paint job made up for it though, it looks amazing, makes me want to make on from cardstock, hmmmmmm …
UA-cam thumbnails are about conveying an idea in .5 seconds, the brush says "we paint this thing in this video" before your brain even realises it! We are learning that UA-cam game finally 😂
What an awesome collaboration! Nerdforge is such a great channel and I'm so happy they invited you guys along for this project. I also love the video thumbnail!
thaks you SO MUCH Martina for supporting our best team ❤ this is such an unexpected and yet wonderfull collab! edit : also, guys, really fun to see you so mad/excited for this. hope you had as good a time as it seems you had ^^
Moooooore collabs! This was so fun. The Ad takeover made me question which channel I was on. Also the final product about made me tear up and the little easter egg of your guys logos on there was just the icing on the cake.
"The Ad takeover made me question which channel I was on. " Stop taking those ADD (now known as ADHD) drugs mate. They work in the short term but long term you end up a scatterbrain.
If anyone feels like they want a sidequest, 'belt bone boxes' are reliquaries. And they have a long history outside of Warhammer too! They always contain the bones or flesh of someone who was 'important', often a saint, or royality. And it's actually the verbal origin of 'Relic' meaning 'Remains'.
Dave you made me cry, but this project was amazing, so glad you got to do a collab like this, and now we know where you and Jenn went. The actual build and paint job are so cool, it would be fun to see TTT experimenting with bigger projects like this, maybe making other life-sized weapons or props
Okay, this is amazing on so many levels. But one thing I want to mention. That emotional moment from Dave at the start, love you guys for how genuine you all are. Also huge shoutout to Nerdforge for orchestrating this. Amazing work to all involved.
Great video. And great to see you doing well given recent troubles. You should send Martina and Hansi a full size space bear claw and mantle as a thank you.
OH MY GOD-EMPEROR! Turning on UA-cam in my train to work and seeing two collab videos between NerdForge and TableTop Time, I wasn't expecting that! Great work about the (not so) miniature painting! The feeling of the video is so great, I was genuinely smiling start to end, you seem to have had a ton of fun doing this project and I'm so happy for you! I'd love to see more collab between your two channels but I know is nearly impossible. No worries, it makes this video even better! Long live TTT 💜
Nerdforge is awesome and has been doing a lot of collabs with all the people artists dream of working with. Happy to see another perfect meeting of creative minds. Both channels are epic.
this colab made me so happy :D you all looked like you were having the most fun!!!! Their excitement in waiting for you guys to arrive was so cute :D Both videos are amazing!
They even flew youto Norway, thats pretty darn awesome. I found you guys, fellow Aussies coming from Nerdforge, which happens to be an awesome channel. I'm also a big fan of painting minitures, particularly Warhammer. So, Plus 1x Sub.
I loved this and the fact that some fellow Aussies got flown over. I have learnt a few techniques that i will apply to my large scale White Scar Terminator in areas that I'm not happy with. I hadn't thought of using sponging before, and I didn't know about the different drying properties of oil and acrylic washes. Thank You!!
Amazing Colman and great job on the armor although I would have loved to see some silver in all those scratches and cracks. I know not everyone does that but I think it would have helped sell that battle damage a little more. I’m also guessing the oil wash didn’t dry in time which is why the table top crew wasn’t in the final suiting up showcase at the end. And while the oil wash did look amazing I probably would have gone with more traditional prop weathering, which is just painting on a bunch of slightly watered down black and brown pint and then cleaning it all off with a damp rag before it fully dries. Same idea as an oil wash as it gets in all nooks and crannies and darkens everything down but is alot faster to dry then oil washes. and if you do multiple passes you can really build up the dirt and grunge look.
The experience must have truly been incredible. I find this principle of collaboration really interesting from every point of view. Bravo in any case the result is really nice.
Amazing work, the detail is crazy, the paint is crazy, the weapon is crazy, the armor looks crazy. It does throw me a bit looking at it on such a small frame, like scaling down the armor to fit a normal person, gives me megaman vibes.
Oh my goooood this is so incredible!!! What an immensely special project I've been SO excited to see what all this has been bubbling up to, and it couldn't have been more wonderful!! The intro seriously tugged at my heart ah GOSH what a brilliant payoff!!! And Dave's excitement throughout the entire time in Norway was palpable and contagious haha! Here's to MANY many more special collabs and fantastic opportunities for TTT!
The amount of details is incredible, from a miniature to larger scale the amount of area to cover is bigger but the result were on spot nonethenless! Awesome work, the black lining in larger scale looks amazing, i learned a lot here 🔥
A pair of class acts. Love all of you. Hopefully, this will be a big boost to both of your channels. UA-cam at least thought to tell me the video happened this time... a week late... when I went to find it myself because I wondered why TTT wasn't posting lately. -_-
You know, this is going to sound corny but, what a time to be alive. When I was a kid in the 70's I dreamed of being able to make things like this. Sure we could cobble together motorcycle helmets or maybe surplus military stuff into 'space man' helmets/suits but now, my word. I can use open-source software to design a helmet, open-source 3d printing tech to make the helmet, then countless guides here on UA-cam showing how to paint it. My grandchildren can make their imagination come alive. So freaking cool.
I lived in Norway for a year, now back in Germany. So I cheered when I saw you guys eating brunost on waffles! I miss that wicked brown cheese so much.
Hullo Teams! I have to say that this is a truly epic collaboration! I have been a fan of Nerdforge for years now and the resurgence of TTT has been everything we had hoped it would be! Jen!, I'll be the first to sign up for your OF if you ever fancied trying your hand?

The jig is a strip with three small rings for the central brush and the pencils.

The craftsmanship looks amazing as always, but the helmet is so large in comparison to the rest of the armour, it makes you look like a Funko-Pop...
So freaking Awesome!
Just finished commenting on the Nerdforge channel.
Wait a nerdforge tabletop time collab. This is genius.
Seeing Dave get emotional with the appreciation and passion for the channel make it hard to not get misty eyed! What a terrible day for rain…
A FMAB reference? Hell yeah.
But it's not raining......
yes it is.
And I lost it ... Not really one minute in and I can't stop crying! 😅
The Nerd Forge and Table Top Time logos on the purity seals was a great touch! I loved seeing you be able to work with other UA-camrs to make something epic.
Yeah we need that actual first miniature painting and maybe even a martina hansi verse off - #BloodAngelsForLife!
Noooo my comment! Also 16:53 for those wondering when and where it appears.
Yess, I want to know who's idea it was but its wholesome either way.
"May this armor be blessed!"
Really was 😗👌
But I think its sad that they didn't put WhitespaceProps logo on there as well. Or maybe on the helmet... you know?
Honestly, after seeing how much the big video affected Dave. This video looks like it was genuinely healing for him. He looked so happy, and looked like he was having the best time. Thank you NerdForged for helping the man.
what do you mean with big video? sorry, I don't really know this channel, but he seemed very touched in the beginning

Which may correlate to 40K being very much latin based with all the imperium shenanigans.

What a great collab! Martina didn't mention they flew you guys out--that was very cool of them. Hope this was a good boost for your channel =)
i’m glad that despite the 4 day deadline they still had time to get waffles and hang out - they deserve it

I love everything about this Collab

You're in for a treat then. Tabletop Time is a really fun channel that does a little of everything wargaming related.
Martina and Hansi sent me and I'm so glad they did! This was incredible.
The paint job looks really good. I was curious how miniature pinting techniques would look like on a massive scale and it looks just as good!!
