  • If you are over-doing it on nuts and other seeds you are! Total up the omega-3s you are getting in your flax and chia seeds, subtract the omega-6 in your other nuts and seeds, and that is how much omega 3 you are actually getting.

I needed this video. Had been having smoothies only the first few days and felt great once I got over the cravings but I decided to incorporate salads with cashew or tahini based dressings and yeah it started to affect me negatively. I’ll make sure to stay away from the seeds/nuts until I’ve met my goal. Thanks for all your help Dr. Goldner.

Will you please do a video on the effects of Ala versus Epa and Dha? I have been doing your protocol and taking tons of flax seed. But occasionally when I talk to people about it they mention that, and try to say that only fish sources will do what we need and that we can't get enough from flax. I don't know what to tell them and it stresses me out. I did find one Harvard study that says in the typical western diet the body can't convert enough epa and dha from ala to get what we need and I felt like aha! Well our diets aren't typical. But still, having a clearer understanding of the whole thing would make me feel better.

I’m only chiming in here because I see Dr. Brooke Goldner has not responded to your question.
As an experienced , raw vegan of many years, I can tell you that Rick Dina, DC, Raw Vegan, over 30 years, and co author, with his wife, Karin Dina, DC, raw Vegan for over 30 years as well, have written a book called raw food, nutrition, handbook, an essential guide to understanding raw food diets.
In his video on I omega-3 fats, as well as in many interviews, he assures those that only eat raw food can meet all of their DHA needs by eating nutritious, omega-3, rich seeds, and nuts, as long as they keep the ratios in the ideal range, they will convert enough into DHA. Those that eat too high on the omega, six rich seeds, and nuts, do not!
I know Robbie Barbero, of mastering diabetes, who also follows a 100% raw, vegan diet, achieves, perfect omega, three fatty acid profile results doing a very low-fat diet. There are others who get the same results.
I’ll let Dr Rick Dina describe why, when you watch his videos under Dr. Rick Dina.
Don’t stress. Just follow Dr. Brooke Goldner’s dietary advice and you’ll do very well. 😊
I beat lupus, too, on a 100% vegan diet, mostly raw, 37 years ago. 😊

Please help fellow nourishors! I am 2 and a half weeks into my hyper-nourishing and am wondering about walnuts? They have a omega 6 and 3 ratio 4:2 and I also saw that avocados are 13:1. So it would make sense to me that is okay to eat walnuts, but I saw that Dr Brooke Goldner said no nuts?? So is it okay to eat walnuts? And if so how much?

Do you use ground flax or whole???

    • @-johnny-deep-
      @-johnny-deep- Рік тому

She uses whole and then blends and drinks them within a day. Because once the omega-3 is exposed to air, it degrades. But honestly, I'm not sure it matters all that much. I'd really like to see some numbers comparing the omega-3 content of fresh ground versus 3 month old ground flax seeds.

No because it oxidises . Get whole flax and grind it at home RIGHT BEFORE you make your smoothie and put it in. Also when grinding it . Pulse grind it this way it doesn’t heat up and kill the benefits of chia and flax seeds
