Bless You, I recently inherited a Romahome Campervan from my sadly deceased brother. It has seen some service and the heater isn`t working. I tracked down the first fault, a faulty fuse, looked OkK but tested not, silly me, Thought I had cracked it. Nows blows but heater not working but thanks to your kind efforts, I have just ordered a service kit and will tackle it myself. Very Grateful to You, Colin
good stuff, I just bought a boat that has one of these which is blowing smoke past the exhaust and into the boat so I think the exhaust is loose, this is super helpful, also I found that brittle gasket in the UK for 2.73 online, although it looks like i can only find the screen as part of a kit and that costs 81 bux,
Great video to watch before the first time I tackle this, thanks for making it clear. No faults showing on the display but it's not heating, I don't know it's history so deffo needs a strip & clean. Have some gasket paper in the man cave. Superb, cheers
I've managed to cut a new gasket to a nice fit, the gasket was toast as you said. Fell to pieces, cleaned up the gauze that surrounds the glow element.. I noticed that once I split the unit I could use a 12mm spanner to remove the glow plug from inside the casing which was really easy, fingers crossed it works then I'll order a proper gasket/refurb kit or try to find the metal one you used. Thanks again.. I spotted a pipe and silencer box from China on Ebay for £12, if it works ok I'll treat to one of those. The old pipe work is toast also
@@colinhaig8083 The point of my vids is just to give folk some confidence to give it a go, so your more than welcome. It's very satisfying when you have a win isn't it :)
Hey McAlester, although there's no compression to compromise the heater from a higher Cetane rated fuel, I have no clue if a higher Cetane fuel and the resultant higher temps may well have an adverse effect on heater components. People do use Kerosene in diesel heaters, but Kerosene has a slightly lower Cetane rating. My only issues have ever been from the screen and that's from start-up and not so much from running of the heater, so Im not sure an additive would have much effect for me. Be interesting to know which direction you go with this, cheers
My heater hasn't gummed up enough to require much more than a scouring pad. Throttle body cleaner would probably be ideal or carburettor cleaner to a lesser extent
Do you know what can be the problem i have smog coming out for a short period of time and cold air coming out .then in about 2 min avrything stops.pum is pamping in the bigining for about a 30 sec then stops then again pumping
Hey Super Trucker, no you didnt miss it. There's no fuel filter in the heater itself. There's a small filter in the dose pump, and any other optional fuel line input filter you choose to add yourself.
Heaters works fine and no CO leaking, but I wont get a true indication until I pull the heater down in the next full service. Search Warmda diesel heaters for the parts.
@@Vagare Copy that. Thanks. Also, do you think you could use a butane torch (i.e mini creme brulee torch) to clean ou carbon build up in the burn chamber?
@@philkong2642 A butane torch wouldn't do much, the flame during the heater operation is pretty ferocious. I suspect even a oxy/acetylene probably would cut it either. A spray-on carby throttle body cleaner would help to loosen it up
Hi, GIYP, Well Done. A great video explanation on how to properly service your diesel heater. Hope you don't mind but I have shared your video with ua-cam.com/users/johnmck1147videos as your video is relevant to his explanation of these types of heaters. I have also placed your video to his video channel as well.
Excellent video - easily explained. 👍

They all do that when they first fire up and theyre running at full tilt

if you don't have the slotted 12 mm tool you can access it from inside with regular wrench 🔧.
F&K a 12 mm wrench?
Vanwives yes 12 mm wrench ...tighten inside the housing instead of pushing the slotted tool through the entrance hole for the glow plug
good advice from you

Glad it helps you sort it

can I used Diesel Fuel, Supplement/Cetane Boost in my heater fuel to make it burn cleaner , keep it cleaner?

Love the video help me service a friends Heater who is a volunteer and couldn’t afford to service
Hey Damien, so glad it helped someone to have a crack and save a quid. Thats why i do these vids. 👍
best video yet.
How do you clean the chamber if soot has built up?
Throttle body or carby cleaner and a wire blush.
@@Vagare Thanks 👍👍
How do you propose actually cleaning the unit? Would you advise using carb cleaner or some other type of cleaner, or just an abrasive wire material?

Could be a combination of fuel issues and carbon buildup. Difficult to diagnose via UA-cam comments, sorry
Is there a fuel filter screen that I missed here?

What is the part number of the Gasquet please because I get them from the green one they do not last long

Thanks for the video. Can you please tell me where the fuel filter location is.
I dont run a fuel filter, but if you have one installed it should be inline btw the fuel tank and dose pump
There's a screen in the pump that can be replaced...
On the inlet side of fuel pump.
Where did u get the metal gasket

how about high heat copper silicon gasket maker?
Ive never used tubed gasket goo myself, but presume it would work. Would it maybe create a clean up issue at the next service??
What is the name and part nr for the metal gasket, pls?

Yeah, would be good to see it dirty or not serviced and then see it cleaned and serviced there and then lol. Although, still a good walk through.
