As a Sephora employee i've got the chance to play around with both; the Nars Light Reflecting and Charlottes Beautiful Skin foundation are both "medium" I would say that the Nars is more like a buildable medium, when Charlotte is a true medium/ buildable full coverage. The Charlotte Beautiful Skin foundation shades do run a little bit warm, but both are really beautiful skin-like medium coverage foundations.
Is the new Nars similar to the Nars Radiant Longwear or different? And if so, how does it differ? The Radiant Longwear did not look good on my skin and I bought and tried so many foundations so if anyone could tell me how the new Nars compares to other foundations 🙏 (finish, wear time etc) I would truly appreciate it very much 🙂 thank you so much in advance
@@ABa-ve3ul So the Nars Radiant Longwear is a full coverage, with a more luminous finish. The Nars Light Reflecting foundation is a lot more sheer/ buildable (in comparison with Radiant Longwear), which gives it a more natural/ skin like finish. As well as having ingredients in the foundation that work with your skin while wearing it. I hoped this helped! 💕
@@kimthomas9836 I know they just re-formulated the Dior Skin- Glow, but I'll give it a look. 4N in the new Charlotte I would say would be great for someone with more of a light-medium skin complexion, so it might be a few shades deeper compared to the 1.5N Dior Skin Glow. Hope this helped!
All NARs foundations are meant to be applied with your fingers. I wasn't aware until a NARS employee was at Sephora promoting the brand and talked about their foundations while she matched me. She was so good that she matched me when I walked in the door. When i approached her later she pulled the shade and told me to try it.
I can tell from binging your videos recently that you not only know how to apply makeup beautifully, but you are so educated and passionate about learning all you can. I love that and see you going so much further in your career! 💕

I LOOOOOVE this foundation. I’ve stopped using foundations since the pandemic and have reached for my tinted moisturizers more often..this is the only one that made me want to wear foundation again..great for everyday makeup, very lightweight (like a tinted moisturizer), blends seamlessly and not drying!!! Longest I wore it was for 15hrs straight and i still looked amazing after 😩
Soooo… I now NEED, like absolutely NEED to try this foundation!!! I also have combination skin and always enjoy finding a good medium coverage foundation that lasts and doesn’t feel cakey or just plain ‘too much’.
I purchased both foundations, and the major differences between the two is that the CT is more matte, a higher medium coverage, and barely any luminosity. Strangely, the Nars is everything that I thought the CT would be! Love the Nars because it’s what I was looking for…

They literally cake and break apart on me. No other products do this with my skin. It always blows my mind how many people love their foundation. I just avoid their products because they’re not good on me. I’m not sure. Idk

Now I know I gotta have this. No primer and looks like REAL SKIN! If it does for me , with the right shade of course, what it did for Ally, I’m dying to try this. @@mandiwolfe6631 no, powder is usually why gives you the flashback. So as long as the powder you use to set it if you do doesn’t have any flashback you should be good 😊
I just bought this foundation yesterday. I wanted to watch a few reviews before I opened it up and tried it on at home. Some people seem to have issues with it if they have textured skin with dry patches. I have dry skin, but I moisturized well, put it on this morning and so far, so good! It feels amazing and skin-like. The colour I bought is also the best match for my skin that I have ever found. It literally vanishes.
@@Ramiiii123 It's my favourite foundation, but I am applying it in spots when I have dry skin problems and not all over my face. I don't put it over spots that are peeling or excessively dry. It's not a miracle worker, but it's done well both in Canada and overseas in a humid environment.
I am so excited to try both the foundation and the blush. I am a sucker for blush palettes... Ok any blush really! And a great foundation to start it out well that is just the best way to start my day!
Just picked this up!! I’m a Mont Blanc too! I found it was light buildable coverage… and just a hint of reflectiveness, but not super moisturizing for my sebaceous bereft dry skin. Using a moisturizer b/f worked great.

As a oily skin gal I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed this foundation! I got a sample size. I didn't get super oily from wearing it and it looked so pretty all day long! Thanks for your review it looked great on you too Allie and your match was spot on!

I think it’s beautiful!! I’m blessed to have a balanced complexion even now that I’m barely hitting midlife that has changed my hair from straight to curly!! It’s so wild. I do like a fuller coverage though. Love you!

I just purchased this and tried it today, actually in the same shade. I love it!! I really haven't found it that worth it to pick up a lot of high-end foundations because of the great options at the drugstore. I really do love this formula though!! Perfect color match as well!
I really want to like NARS foundations but I’ve had hit or miss experience. The Natural Radiant one just sat on top of my skin and did not look so great. I like Sheer Glow but as some of the other comments say, it does pull yellow on me.

Lol! I can’t tell the difference between neutral and peach undertones very well, I feel like I’m a fair-light neutral but each brands is so different in number of shades. For example I got 4.5 for Luminous Silk and that is sooo wrong lol.
I’m excited to try this one! I have seen a few positive reviews, but your skin type is very similar to mine I think (I get oily in the T-zone too), so your review is the one that sealed it for me. 🙂

Trust me the CT one is not that great! Today is my 2nd day wearing the new Nars foundation and I am in love!! The ones who love the CT might not like the Nars and vice versa...
Agreed. I tried the CT and immediately returned. Too expensive and not great payoff for me. My skin is drier so I anticipated it would work well, but it sat on top of my skin and was so drying 😖

It looks pretty matte for a “light reflecting” product. Maybe that’s why. People looking for radiant products aren’t going to want something so matte looking, especially in the winter. You seem to lean toward matte products or you mattify quite a bit with powder so it’s right up your alley! CT definitely looks less matte and is more appealing to me. Looks good on you!
LOL, let's read the instructions and then do what we want anyway! I'm exactly like that too: even if the makeup brand gives specific instructions, I would apply the product how I mean to use it. Otherwise there is no point and it won't stick into my routine! Love the review Allie! 🤩

I saw one of the review on this foundation and she is super oily and even she was impressed with it she did a 12-hour work last and said it didn't break up even though her oils did poke through it was still able to look brand new at once she rolled a volcano ball over it basically just plotting the oil away not adding any more powder and she also said it looked amazing
I wanted to say thank you for your review and videos. I recently came upon your channel and I am happy I did. I am in my 30s but I haven’t bought makeup in at least 6 years as I am colorblind and have always been afraid that I wouldn’t be able to find the right shades or know how to apply them. After watching your videos and how well you explained the products I went off to Sephora to get shade matched (I turned out to be mont bloc too). I tried the product yesterday and was so impressed how easy it was to blend (my husband said if I hadn’t told him I put it on he wouldn’t have known it looked so nice). Thanks again. Going to keep following you for new suggestions and products.
I'm very excited about this foundation I just haven't bought it because I have so many products to go through and I know that if I were to buy it now I wouldn't be able to wait to use it! I'm not as pumped for the CT foundation though, I just haven't had a very good experience with some of her products and I think they're WAY overpriced for what they are plus it's getting very mixed reviews and you never know if the good ones aren't that legit, but I'm excited to see your honest review of it though!
I’ve tried the CT and it definitely lives up to the hype for me. I’m post roaccutane and been desperate to find something for dry, textured skin with no SPF that’s buildable coverage. Australia is rather limited, I’ve tried so many including NARS radiant longwear (this version won’t be here for months sadly), Laura Mercier radiant but they just clung or felt tight. The MAC radiant face and CT were the only ones to meet my needs. CT looked blurring in the T-zone (even though staff said “that’s impossible blah blah radiant foundations can’t lol”), held up nicely on dry patches and self-sets without powder needed. So I think it really depends on what exactly you’re looking for, but I would give it a sample run if you enjoy any of those qualities in your foundation preferences. 😊

I was comparing the new CT foundation (4N) to my Dior Skin-glow in 1.5N and they seem identical. Have you noticed this since you have access to both?

I really want to like NARS foundations but I’ve had hit or miss experience. The Natural Radiant one just sat on top of my skin and did not look so great. I like Sheer Glow but as some of the other comments say, it does pull yellow on me.
So glad you reviewed this foundation! I’ve been wondering and hoping you’d review it. When I first saw it and watched the NARS video I had high hopes, now I need to pick it up 😊

Omg looks amazing on you, thank you for tring the shade Mont Blanc thats the shade i have in the soft matte abd i haven't found a review that has tried that shade, i have seen quite a few reviews on this foundation and alot of the feed back has been really good even from combo and oily skin, can't wait for this to release in the UK

its so funny bc I work at a Sephora and i looked at Allie and think to myself: "I feel like she's gonna be mont blanc" and then she says she thinks she'd be that shade. Feeling real proud of myself rn lmaoooo
Lol! I can’t tell the difference between neutral and peach undertones very well, I feel like I’m a fair-light neutral but each brands is so different in number of shades. For example I got 4.5 for Luminous Silk and that is sooo wrong lol.
I’m excited to try this one! I have seen a few positive reviews, but your skin type is very similar to mine I think (I get oily in the T-zone too), so your review is the one that sealed it for me. 🙂

I was not planning to try this foundation, but you might have changed my mind. I just ordered the shisheido skin tint, so if that one disappoints me, I might try the Nars one!

Trust me the CT one is not that great! Today is my 2nd day wearing the new Nars foundation and I am in love!! The ones who love the CT might not like the Nars and vice versa...
Agreed. I tried the CT and immediately returned. Too expensive and not great payoff for me. My skin is drier so I anticipated it would work well, but it sat on top of my skin and was so drying 😖
@@JordanStar7 yea I even used CT products to prep my skin. It's was so dry and it looked so good from far away but once u got close NO lol

I really want to try this! Did Nars change their shade range? I used to get Fiji, but it looks way darker now on the site, and the description of the color has changed on all their foundations. Nars has my favorite foundations of all time and I’m really excited to try this one! 💖

It looks pretty matte for a “light reflecting” product. Maybe that’s why. People looking for radiant products aren’t going to want something so matte looking, especially in the winter. You seem to lean toward matte products or you mattify quite a bit with powder so it’s right up your alley! CT definitely looks less matte and is more appealing to me. Looks good on you!
LOL, let's read the instructions and then do what we want anyway! I'm exactly like that too: even if the makeup brand gives specific instructions, I would apply the product how I mean to use it. Otherwise there is no point and it won't stick into my routine! Love the review Allie! 🤩
Your review of this NARS foundation makes me want to not only buy it, but to buy all NARS products and throw everything else away! LOL. I do love the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and would probably rank it as my #1 fave. This one looks fabulous on you and I'm glad you liked it so much! xox

I saw one of the review on this foundation and she is super oily and even she was impressed with it she did a 12-hour work last and said it didn't break up even though her oils did poke through it was still able to look brand new at once she rolled a volcano ball over it basically just plotting the oil away not adding any more powder and she also said it looked amazing
I wanted to say thank you for your review and videos. I recently came upon your channel and I am happy I did. I am in my 30s but I haven’t bought makeup in at least 6 years as I am colorblind and have always been afraid that I wouldn’t be able to find the right shades or know how to apply them. After watching your videos and how well you explained the products I went off to Sephora to get shade matched (I turned out to be mont bloc too). I tried the product yesterday and was so impressed how easy it was to blend (my husband said if I hadn’t told him I put it on he wouldn’t have known it looked so nice). Thanks again. Going to keep following you for new suggestions and products.

I'm very excited about this foundation I just haven't bought it because I have so many products to go through and I know that if I were to buy it now I wouldn't be able to wait to use it! I'm not as pumped for the CT foundation though, I just haven't had a very good experience with some of her products and I think they're WAY overpriced for what they are plus it's getting very mixed reviews and you never know if the good ones aren't that legit, but I'm excited to see your honest review of it though!
I’ve tried the CT and it definitely lives up to the hype for me. I’m post roaccutane and been desperate to find something for dry, textured skin with no SPF that’s buildable coverage. Australia is rather limited, I’ve tried so many including NARS radiant longwear (this version won’t be here for months sadly), Laura Mercier radiant but they just clung or felt tight. The MAC radiant face and CT were the only ones to meet my needs. CT looked blurring in the T-zone (even though staff said “that’s impossible blah blah radiant foundations can’t lol”), held up nicely on dry patches and self-sets without powder needed. So I think it really depends on what exactly you’re looking for, but I would give it a sample run if you enjoy any of those qualities in your foundation preferences. 😊
I love when you review new foundations! I also have redness and oils that peek through in the late afternoon. This new NARS foundation is gorgeous on you! I love how it gives great coverage but it still looks very natural and skin like! I’m going to get it. You’re the best ☺️💗

I want to try this foundation so bad!!!! I am just really bad at shade matching my self, I have never tried any thing from NARS or Charlotte Tilbury and I really want both for real, Ill have to take a trip to my Sephora tomorrow after work.
