- The day started quiet well, then the Mach Loop started to have some crazy weather.
It was an early start for me to head to the Mach Loop, F35s caught me by surprised on my way up the hill, only to end up with some crazy weather around the hills of the Mach Loop, The Mach Loop weather is so unpredictable.

I had a total blank this Monday, I sat waiting in the Cad car park for quite a while then thought sod it, I've come all this way (3 plus hours for me) I might as well go up.
I did but nothing came except for the mist/sea fret eventually it blew out then darkness fell.
That was my cue to head back down.
Tuesday was much better, but i was so comfy and lazy getting up n out of the b and b in the morning I missed the first pair of hawks, but still got a fair few decent passes.👍🏴✈️
Cheers Andy, blusher 🤣. When I hear my voice back it doesn't sound the greatest. Hopefully when you manage to get back up there the weather will be a bit more kind to you.
nasty.......reminds me when we saw the liberty heritage jet when you were on cad east with us...... if you remember earlier a c130 came through the mist and me and my son were under the umbrella not knowing it was almost upon us!!
Yes, I absolutely remember that, I always tell people I speak to on the hill, the day that I sat in my car watching the Strix pop out from Exit and I watched you and your son standing there under the umbrella, unaware it was approaching you in the valley, you both reacted just as it got to you.

Hey at least you didn't blank. That's the thing with the loop and the lakes the weather is so unpredictable and can change in minutes. Stills of the 35s with that fluff would have been great.
That for sure the weather can change instantly up there. yeah stills would definitely have been awesome.
Your dedication is amazing. Nice to see the face behind the camera. Pity about the weather, but they would definitely shut it down for the day, too. The best place to be like you say is in the house in this weather. Thanks for sharing, and have a great weekend.

@DarrenEdwardsAviation it looked very atmospheric I have to say ..very harsh environment and lugging all the equipment up there
It was nice to do the hyperlapse videos, but I ruined a load of videos, due to it starting to rain and I was having to cover up the camera.
I will have to eventually reduce what I carry up there, I should really check how much extra weight I carry up there with all my camera gear.

Yeah sure Wendy, You can probably use just your mobile phone on the hills, provided it has a decent quality camera. I just go a bit OTT.

Two RAF F-35b’s came through this morning about the same time. Call sign SEAJET.
It’s been quiet lately, we had 10 passes last Wednesday. Had two late Typhoons from Coningsby as it was getting on for 4pm.
You’ve gotta love the Loop ❤️
Cool, yeah think he was walking up West side the same time, as I was going up East, thankfully he managed to get some good photos. Gonna be harder to see stuff through there now, especially when the weather turns wintery.
The Mach Loop is a special place, even if you don't see anything, it's just good to be on the hills to think things through, and enjoy the breathtaking views, knowing theres always a chance something might pop out from one of the valleys.
@@DarrenEdwardsAviation I might try one more visit this year weather dependant - maybe early December. If not I’ll be back next year. 😎👍🏼
Getting the snow backdrop shots and videos are great, getting up to the hills are a bit of a challenge though, very dangerous under foot.
