Chemnitz was missing 😔
Beautiful region
The first books on mining were written in this area. De Re Metallica, written in 1556, is available on Kindle in English. Good preparation for a visit.
Thanks for the tip!
I did my PhD in the TU Bergakademie Freiberg; my topic was the extinct Altenberg-Teplice volcanic caldera, which hosts the tin deposits shown here. Very nice video! Alexander von Humboldt also taught here, and the indium and germanium chemical elements were discovered here, too, amongst other nice facts about Freiberg.
Such a brilliant and shining personality to introduce us to Germany’s sights. Looking forward to a return to travel, greetings from Lake Tahoe, California!
Lovely young lady

Everyone of the top 1% who has just a passing interest in watches knows Glashütte. ;) Owning an A. Lange & Söhne is the dream!

at 4:55, I'm assuming it's called a "wedding" because it's like a "wedding cake," stacking up the different watch mechanisms on top of each other...
Wowwww...

It's a land of Holländermichel, from the fairy tale "Das kalte Herz".
It is actually set in the Black Forest.. 🤓
