Our missile man was apj Abdul kalam n we are proud of him. Jai hind
Dr. Pervaiz Hoodbhoy should be Advisor on Education to Prime Minister Of Pakistan. He know how to change Education in Pakistan,
I second it.
whenever, i listen to this great scholar i learn. really inspiring.
Apart from a nuclear scientist, Hoodbhoyji is also a superb story teller. He makes things easy.
Sir,,as a pakistani developer and researcher,,,once i was asked by a foreigner to design and develop a pc based cockpit control of a jet plane he has standing in his backyard in 30USD,,,,all the world recognizes us as financial poor,,,and after developing algorithms getting from 30USD to 90USD,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The best things the Arabs did was to invite mathemsthics genius from India and other countries and translate it in Persian from which it was translated into English etc. Vedas had books on botany, medicine and later on astronomy and planets. We invented numerals and the zero.
We invented algebra which was adopted by the Arabs.
P
@Arastushukooh Absolutely Right!
Excellent analysis. Such analytical power few people have in Pakistan.
I have admirably listened to Prof Hoodbhouy: not only here but at other instances too. I am not undermining the fact that he says what needs a lot of courage in a conservative (falsely conservative) society like Pakistan. However, looking at the audience, he is seems only to be preaching to the already converted! If such progressive ideas will be compelled to remain to the "drawing room" discussions, then how can a change be brought on the level of the masses?
Muzaffar Bhai some of these Drawing Room elite will get in position to make policies where the correct way forward will be formulated and then this education will come in handy.
Arabic Science was inspired by Science from Ancient India and Greece. Listen to Arif Md Khan, Governor of Kerala who talks about how Surya Siddhanta was one of early books translated by Arabs. THis went to Europe and was translated into Latin and later into other languages. Astronomy came about from there. Arabic Science is today nothing much to talk about due to fall of free thinking and rise of religious fanaticism there.
Dr hiodbay you are the real

Good attempt with good motive. But...but...the sample size of rational Islam (if exists so) is only 400 years. Bas.....itna hi...minimum 4 generations. I asked a muslim tennager in my Delhi neighbourhood driving an e-rickshaw. Do you study in school? He said, "No, Masterji fail kar dete hein. Kyunki hum musalman hein". I responded, "but your younger sister is studying and she studied more than you." Banda, chup! Telling LIES from both sides. Brilliant art.
When pyramids were built in Egypt, they were not Muslims.
Sir , thanks for your true speech
He himself needs to be educated by hamza tzortziz ... He did get a chance though ... People really need to see what happened
Exactly. Hamza is a greek warrior.. 💚
Doing great job
Thank you for sharing.
Once this man was forced to say that he believes in Islam and that he is a practising Muslim.
According to Dr. Sahib, Religion has played an important role in the past when it comes to evolution of science. It means it was there and now lost. Now we need to find the connection that got lost. The question rises: Dr. Sahib MashAllah got educated from the best university in USA, but turned out to be only a Teacher. Why haven't you try to invent anything or get himself amongst those got accolades in science. Expecting a student educated in governmental institutions is just a gewgaw expectation that the one is equal to the person getting education from aborad. In Pakistan, science could not get flourished not because there was no talent, but injustice, living standard, education system, etc - the list is unending. A poor is getting more poor, while a rich is getting richer. We should not avoid those vital causes. Dr. Sahib was fortunate to get quality education from USA and eventually got lucky to be popular with people. Not every one is luck like YOu, sir.
Not sure what you are trying to say. But you spent a lot of time writing this.
Islam... Problem is Islam
Sari history speech India Kay Uper hi
Based
Nice sir hood
I want to meet dr hoodboy..
I want too
He was my teacher and I learnt from him Quantum Mechanics,Classical Mechanics with magic of his mathematics
I was/am much impressed by his way of explaining tough topics like string theory, hidden variables, topological and gauge notations for higher dimensions& Schrodinger cat etc.
Babar Hussain a normal professor s way of teaching is: writing points and related examples of a certain topic, students write it down and at the end they have their scripts or notes. How is his way of teaching?
He teaches in FC, maybe you can send him an email :)
How can I meet This Scholar?
He works in FC college. Maybe you can send him an email. :)
Good speech
Here the question arises: what has been done by your end so far even though all the differences, issues, problems, obstacles, and dilemmas were known to you save teaching and lecturing about whining about the shortcomings in the Pakistan. You should have been pragmatic not theoretical as you have been to around the world, been to foreign universities, been around worlds' scholars and scientists. I have read your only book written by you, which is only about complaining, picking holes, and pinpointing the pros and cons in Muslim society of past and now. It is easier said than done, SIR. No offense, just personal point of view.
It's easier said than done. But I think that some things are important to say. Not because those are important, but because those are required. He did what he did and today we have platforms for education related discussions and this is an inspiration for the youth of today to actually do something about it. So I believe in introspection and then healthy criticism. That slowly evolves a society and thats important
@@709rain You missed my point, I guess. I was not criticising him for not doing anything. He was the one got scholarship from Pakistan and went to MIT in America, and for what to the end! He was supposed to be the one not only talking the talk but walking the walk... There must be something, which is unknown to us, that could not convince him to take the immediate action. In the name of awareness, a lot has been saying and would be said. Now the time for action, not verbalism.
To that I agree. But I'm saying we all, also need to do something. Not just awareness but real actions
@@709rain We can't do anything but the professionals related to such fields. World is full over smart persons. Everyone wants to live easy, safe, and secured life for themselves and their families. It hurts when I see such people just picking holes except doing something. We have listened enough ...
@@zamtube791 well. Why don't you do something about it?
This is for any Pakistani readers of these comments.
Modi gets a generally bad press, more so in Pakistan where the narrative is tightly controlled by the state.
But Modi set aside his salary as Chief Minister of Gujarat, keeping a small amount for his own maintenance for: a girls' education fund. This is just a small example of his farsightedness, and one small reason why he has such a following in India.
This is from a former Modi-hater.
Pakistani science has this problem: as a "revealed religion", which Christianity also is, Islam claims to have all the answers, because "Islam is perfect, and given by Allah".
This puts it in direct conflict with science, because science is a search for answers, which means that you must FIRST admit that you do NOT have all the answers, and THAT IS WHY you are asking questions.
Christianity in Europe had all the same problems, but lost after a long internal (in Europe) fight between the Church and science that still echoes in America.
Islam however, shows no signs of maturing.
Pakistani science is doomed.
Actually that's a problem with muslims as we have several Quranic verses as well as sayings of Prophet PBUH who encourage us to gain knowledge not just of religion but the world around us.
Unfortunately most of our scholars in south asia have lost the intellectual ability to respond
Dangar insan Jo field ha us pr bat kro
Mazhab pr bat ka shoq ha tu proper form pr bat kro
Hahaha. Nice attitude man 😁
