I worked for Boeing for 22 years and joined the 777 program in July of 1990. I left in 2000. It was the favorite program of my career. So proud of this bird and what has become of her over the years. With this new model she will be flying at least another 30 years. Probably will outlive me.
I fly the 777. When I'm over the Atlantic, during a night crossing, I always think, what a wonderful aircraft, the systems redundancy, the GE90 reliability and the smoothness of the ride. I truly love it. Thank you for your participation on the program, I'm pretty sure, you made it safer.
Wow, that's inspirational im 19 just going through flight school now in Gatwick and hope to fly one of these things in the future. Also hoping robots won't take over the job of pilots by then
@@aviationdaily747 It probably will happen but it will be a long time coming. Even when there is no pilot on board I bet they have them on the ground. You probably will be monitoring 10 flights from your console.
GE-9X, the largest aviation engine of all time. Engine fan diameter of 3.40cm with a thrust of 489 kN=49.840kgs. The entire LPT (low-pressure turbine module) and transmission component were produced and assembled at Avio Aero's plants in Italy, from where I come from. Just hope that Boeing will be recovering ASAP this huge launch delay, as it was for the 747-8. Meanwhile Airbus sends greetings and big thanks for it! I'm italian but for me if it ain't Boeing, it AIN'T going. Although I'm sorry to say, but Boeing's former glory in the last 10/15 years, remains an ancient legacy.😪
Yep. The 777's have always basically been a 747 without the upper deck, and obviously 2 extra-large engines. Their fuselage have roughly the same length and same diameter.
@@ronaldcharan2705 it only has bigger engines but the 74 has 4 lol 4 GEnx engines are more powerful than two GE90s 😂😂😂 and the wingspan is definitely not longer lol nothing about this aircraft is bigger than the 747 especially not the 8i 😂😂
What an absolutely GORGEOUS aircraft. You can see that the newer engines are bigger and i love the retractable winglets. Considering the wings are longer and it's easier for them when they are parked at a gate getting in and out etc...Looking forward too flying on one of these in the near future. It will be a nice replacement for the 777-300ER.
A simply stunning aeroplane, I've always love 777s and this, with the larger engines, looks just incredible. The retractable winglets are just something else
Such a beauty. The unmistakable sweet sound of the GE engine...Aaannnnnnn...when it is pushed to full throttle is like the start of a symphony.... wonderful.

The plane can’t fly with the wing tips folded, and that’s what happened at 1:55, they tested trying to do takeoff power with wingtips folded but the airplane rejects it.
Probably the greatest airliner Boeing ever build. It's a shame, mismanagement and corporate greed took them down the path of the 737-Max and 787 fiascos
WOW beautiful bird. Doubt whether I'll see it here in Capetown SA 🇿🇦 love watching the planes flying over my house .My dog calls me for the big planes.Just a little old lady but love planes. Too huge to land here😭

That engine spoolup is just such an amazing sound, I can listen to it over and over again.😍

777 is gorgeous. Immediately recognizable. Huge engines, tiny tale. 3 axle main gear. A visual delight!

I think the wingspan is also too large for taxi ways at some (even major) airpoirts so the retractable winglets are also necessary for that too
i hope it wont replace the 300er

Always loved the 777 series. Oher than that, wow those engines are H U G E! It's like 3/4 the size of the fuselage.
Love this. Every time I’ve flown on a triple, the sheer size of the engines never fails to impress.
