- For most men, losing your hair is an inevitable side effect of aging. Jonathan describes the growth cycle of hair, types of baldness that affect men and women, and how most ladies feel about bald dudes.

It's not fair, it grows where you don't need it.
yup if you lose your hair on sides and have a big hair in front you would be like skirllex
Thats how our master programmed our Body
otoot kol low-key fuck him for that
Just for some background info on my experience: My hair began to thin when I was a teenager. It was gradual and not too extreme but it was pretty clear that I was going to lose more hair over time. By my early 20s it was noticeable enough for people to comment on it, which started to get to me. One week while my wife was away, I decided spontaneously that I wanted to shave my head. I was feeling pretty low at the time about myself. That first shaving experience was ridiculous - I didn't have an electric trimmer so I used scissors and then safety razors to get rid of it. It took hours and I'd get bored shaving one section so I'd switch to another part of my head after a while, meaning I looked like I had caught mange. I was about 70% done when my wife called me from work. I tried to surprise her with what I had done but she GUESSED it on the phone! Luckily, she loved my new look. I've been bald ever since. Though one other funny thing about my experience -- I shaved my head on a Wednesday. When I went into work on Thursday, my coworkers thought a strange man had broken into the office. Well, I am strange, there's no doubt about that, but they realized who I was and then I became a popular topic of discussion. These days, I see a lot more bald guys than I did back then. It's nice to know I started a trend. (Okay, I know I didn't start it, but I was an early pioneer!).
You were lucky that you have a magnificently shaped head. If I shaved my head, I'd look like a lumpy potato.
My experience is similar. Started thinning in late teens. At age 29 or so, I shaved it all off. I shave my head every other day.
I had a pretty bad case of Alopecia Areata after going through a very stressful time at work and then being made redundant. The two things combined created a cycle of depression and I was on anti-depressants for nearly a year. I was staying indoors as much as I could and wore hats to hide it for a long time.
I lost over half my hair to it so one day I took an electric shaver to what was left (I didn't tell my wife until I did it).
Eventually it started to grow back as white baby fluff hair and then back to normal. It took around 18 months. I'm in my mid-30s now, slowly going naturally grey now and starting to get male pattern baldness.
It is amazing the psychological affect of losing your hair can cause. I think especially when it is not in a naturally expected pattern (mine was mostly random and almost all of the right side was gone whilst most of the left remained) Many thought I had cancer. It is something out of the ordinary so you get many strange looks. I travel a lot for work, and in one of my trips to the US I remember the border security asking me to remove my hat, seeing what I was hiding and quickly asking me to put it back on again.
Maybe hair loss should not be such a taboo that it appears to be. I felt like people saw it is a real physical deformity.
I was getting called "baldy" when I had a full mop aged 18. A few years ago when I was 19 I had one of my student friends sort out the first round of shaving and I've enjoyed the smooth, silky sheen of taking it razor-close ever since. I'm generally okay with it now, but occasionally I'll see a hairstyle I like and get sad. To be honest though, it was never much use when I had it.
I like the effect it has - it's like saying "my hair didn't break up with me, I broke up with my hair." When it grows out, I'm always convinced it looks to other people like I've just not noticed.
It's definitely a good time to be bald. The Statham-Willis phenomenon, as I've taken to calling it, almost certainly contributes to how much more comfortable I am in all my shiny glory. And I also make women, children, elderly people and ethnic minorities that little bit more nervous in the street. PLUS it's advantageous for green screens!!
i don't know if i'm losing hair or i am just going paranoid, i always think that i am losing hair ,however everybody is telling that i am not , because when i cut my hair i notice""in the mirror ""that there is a spot in the back of my head, the barber told me that this is called the hair whirlpool, which means this is where the hair splits up, but it looks a little bit big to me , it looks like baldness, for the record , i've been expecting my hair to fall four years ago, but my hair still looks good, it's a bloody paranoia!
Considering the amount men it affects, a solution to male pattern baldness would be worth billions. I'm really surprised no one has cracked it.
If you own a company that transplant hair and make you 8.5$ billion would you find a cure?
Trillions
So basically we have to find a wife before we're 30.
She can still divorce you...
you don`t have to, you can also never find a wife. decide.
ominous450 Quantum Xmetics cured it..... btw
ominous450 yup
ominous450 lol
why cant pubic hair go bald?
禿げ。それはオトコの証し!
Wait... it can't? Is there something wrong with me then?
Get Alopecia Universalis, no hair anywhere.
I know, right? Why couldn't I keep the hair on my head and lose the hair on my back, butt and junk.
Actually, I think if it keeps getting wet, it will get dandruff and then fall. Am I smart?
I just shave my head every other day. That's how I deal with male pattern baldness
lol
_I just shave my head every other day. That's how I deal with male pattern baldness_
I have a hairy body. It started innocently enough with just shaving my head, and then it took me places I wasn't quite ready to go.
Same here
Walter white wasnt naturally bald. It was cancer and he just kept shaving it.
I'm balding, but I can't accept it. hold my hand, someone....
I'm here for you buddy... I started balding at 15
Caveman's Gaming Cave I'll hold it
LM3ALLEM lol thats not true, you just dont have a choice but accept it
I started balding late middle school. Once I hit my 20s it was A LOT more noticable until I finally started shaving it when I was 23
I'm 27 been balding since 18 unfortunately my head is really huge and looks really weird shaved. So I'm stuck between deciding what looks worse
dank memes or just take ya vitamins
dank memes dude same I feel like Oof ing my self
Slick Bald with SMP 😎😎
or No Guard Clippers....
jonny sins
My hair started thinning at 25 when I was unhealthy and overweight. After I went Paleo and cut out all processed food, I noticed a reduction in thinning. Mind you, I'm still loosing my hair, not drastically, but evenly. I actually look younger than before, so I've come to terms with the inevitable.
If I had the money I would pour it into research to halt and reverse balding. I absolutely hate the fact I'm going bald. I despise people who say "Oh just shave it all off" I've tried the shaved head look and I don't have the facial structure or the head shape to pull it off, I just look ill. I don't even have the "tough guy" image to pull it off. The worst thing is, if a company were to find a cure they would charge the fucking earth for it because they know so many people would try it. I wouldn't care so much if I was in my 50's or 60's and going bald, but I'm only 32, and I feel so horrifically self conscious because I used to have really thick hair when I was younger. It's always the people with a full head of hair who say "you're just being stupid about it" It's all right for them, they still have their hair and can't even comprehend how bad going bald can make a man or woman feel
Fatih Bilkil Hair transplant is still far to much to me. I know it costs like £2000+ to get one. I really do not have that amount of money, and can't pay that and be able to actually live day to day life These companies know that men and women are desperate to get back a full head of hair and will charge a huge amount of money to "cure" it.
The conclusion is it fucking sucks no matter what age you start loosing your hair. I stand by what I said about the people who say "you shouldn't worry about it, just shave it off" etc etc. They have a full head of hair and haven't got a frickin clue how it feels!!!
Argan Rain. This product best anti hair loss shampoo. I would recommend..
Well I'm 16 and going bald imagine how I feel
wow I feel your pain...
the only cure for baldness is death. mines was a crown to me used to get me laid a lot. now I have to play the nice smart guy ... -.- miss my curls. My hair was what everyone used to notice first and WANTED to touch. Curls going down my shoulder, then became brittle thin dry and falling... one of the curse to being a man, but I still love pissing in a corner.
I started going bald in my early 20s. I was fighting it with lower hairstyles until one day my barber sadi he can't do anything with my hairline anymore. At that point I said just take it all off and I have been doing it ever since.
I shave, embrace it and accept the journey. Keep your cash in your pocket and leave the snake oil, plugs and rugs alone.
Thank you for uploading
I'm balding and have been since I was a teenager. I used to be sensitive about people bluntly pointing out the lack of hair on my head but these days I just tell them I rather have my hair problem then the face problem they're having. Eventually I will shave it all off.
I am a barber and also have male pattern baldness. I have tried every other product available for thinning hair this ARGAN Rain one is the best hands down my customers love it o love it
Thank you :) I'll try it
I just turned 17 and I'm starting to bald. My hairline is thining really bad and it grows shorter than my other hairs. It is killing my self esteem every year as it gets more noticeable.
try shaving your head. who knows people might like it.
+Joseph Coll they do, i'm bald and i love it
it's cheaper too, no more shampoo, no more hair gel, no more combs, no more time lost to dry the hair after the shower, no dandruff, if it rains outside and you get wet, a handkerchief is enough.....and so on, and so on
you are probably just getting a mature hairline. It's pretty normal.
ovidyus Ikr?! It kinda annoys me that I still have to shave every other day, but now I'm actually looking forward to my MPB to get worse so I won't have to shave as often :D Started losing my hair at the age 20 and shaved it all of 4 years later. You forgot to add "no more visits to the barber" ;D It's amazing not having to worry about hair.
Fernando Ruiz dude don't worry you will looks more sexier without hair bald is the best thing and btw my hairline is also reversing and in 20
Going bald in college has been really tough on me, I have a v shaped hairline where the v is basically turning into an island. BUT..... it's important to remember that you can still have plenty of good qualities even with no hair. I still don't have much trouble with girls and now I'm motivated to work out more and improve my other qualities. Don't let this shit bring you down fellas, it will work itself out. If you shave your head it will look weird at first but do you honestly think it will still bother you after a year? two years? ten years?
Alguem aqui veio pelo Intensivao do Mairo ? 😂😂😂
Yes.
So we grow without hair, gain hair and then finally loose hair???
I had So much anxiety watching this
Why?
Why? You have such a small chance of anything happening
Nick54123 I think I was high or something haha,
Baldness skips a generation in my family. Now I know you could say it's just a coincidence but it so far hasn't failed.
Great video! :)
You can also lose hair if you're extremely stressed. Happened to somebody I know. But thankfully their hair grew back.
I still have a full head of hair but my grandfather was completely bald by my age.
Though the women on my maternal side all have incredibly thick hair so I'm hoping that's helping me out.
When my dad was in his early 20s he stayed out on the beach for too long one day and badly burnt his legs. His skin completely healed but the end result was that all the hair below his knees fell out and never grew back.
Women would kill for those legs :D
I just started shaving my head. I tried to use minoxidil for a while but found it works better for facial hair.
Excelente documentário. Parabéns
Já procurei muitos tratamentos para calvice, porém, nenhum dos tratamento resolveu o problema....Hoje faço como você, rapei a cabeça e desde então a calvice tornou-se minha amiga.
32 at the moment ... shaved my head about 12 years ago ... not regretting it. Used to look like an easter egg ... but a beard saved the day and now i'm actually quite liking my look. :)
I'm 39, started losing my hair around 17, shave my head for about 10 years cause I'm totaly bald (honestly I find myself good looking with a shaved head, so it's all good for me), AND I just stopped smoking cigarettes 1 month and a half ago and I actualy have some new hair growing back! (I smoked for 15 years). And believe me, when you're totaly bald you notice right away when new hair are growing, lol.
Okay, I don't think it's gonna regrow to the point that I can stop shaving my head, most people did not notice it anyway because it's a few regrow and I shave my head once a week (and I'm not sure the same effect can be seen on everyone, as everyone is different) BUT it shows how bad smoking is for your hair (as well as bad food by the way). It prevents blood circulation and oxygen to go to the extremities of your body, incuding your scalp (the skin of my scalp feels thicker and a bit moist now, when it was thin and dry before)
***** This is not what I said. I started loosing my hair at 17, yeah, but smoking only accelerated the process when I started to smoke more, around age 25. I'm pretty sure that without cigarettes (and eating better) I would have slowed the bading process a lot. But not totaly stopped it. I'm happy this makes you laugh though... even if the goal of my comment was more a cautionary tale than a joke. And oh, it's been few months now. And it is now a bit more noticeable that I have some regrowth. It does not change my look (I would need thousands of new hair for this and it will not happen) but there are definitely new hairs growing where it was bald before.
Can someone please help me? I'm 16 and my hairs have gone thin and the upper head scalp in visible in sunlight, i. e bald, my dad had hairs on his head up until he was 55 - 58 yo, whenever I bath, I get like 10-20 hairs in my head whereas my friends do not loose a single hair from their scalp. Please please help me solve this problem :(
10-20 hairs in my hand
Look to your mother's side of the family to see whether you may have inherited genes for balding. Those genes are passed down on the X chromosome, so you would've gotten them from her. If her brothers or father went bald early, you may have the same genes. A good haircut can help!
BrainStuff - HowStuffWorks my uncle have good hairs and my mom too, but she have some less hairs but I guess most of the women have that problem, thanks a million for replying and it will be really helpful if you suggested some other option :)
Eternal Blez Don't have a short haircut. Easy
Dude im 18 and im balding too this fucking sucks so much
I'm 34 years young and still have most of my hair and it actually stopped from what I could tell. All I know is it hasn't receeded anything further.
Of which I'm very grateful for
I had my hair fall out in clumps after being put on anti rejection medication for a kidney transplant when i was 17, it wasn't fun but after a while it stopped and after almost 2 years it seems to be fine now
I've been slowly increasing my hairline for the past 5-10 years or so. To combat it, I do nothing. I don't really care. Worrying about something as trivial as your hair isn't something that I really think matters.
At the moment I'm lucky, I'm 41 and my short hair (crew cut) is self inflicted, although many barbers and hairdressers have reported they feel they need to get their scissors/clippers sharpened as they felt dull, I had to explain, it was my hair.
I take your words for it
There is one solution just use really cold water on your scalp every Night b4 u sleep, u Will see the scalp turning red because of the blod rushing to your scalp, waking up the hair
Helped me Got thicker hair where i was losing it. Hope this help.
Really?
Tried shaving my head, but I’m actually tempted to try that keeps thing.
Well hair transplant worked for my uncles, both were balding then they had a transplant operation, and now they have regrowing hair. They take hair from your back and transplant them on your head.
Well, you're saying or what understood from you that it usually start when you turn 30
i'm not 30 yet...i think i started losing my hair since 20's after high school i started to notice & i didn't know it would be this fast but after diploma &started to have a job around 26 & i started to feel my skin of my head & i was trying so hard to hide it with the hair around it but now its so obvious. i mean i', half bald you can clearly see my skin head at the front of my head & it makes me feel i'm old sometimes & my problem that i' still single ._.
Maybe baldness scares chicks off of me? lol
25 yo and bald!
But hey, better my hair as my magnificent beard ;D
Nice watch! Is it the pebble?
Does losing round patches of hair on the scalp indicate future male pattern baldness?
As you mentioned that DHT is one of the reasons of MPB. I also read that excessive/ compulsive masturbation over a long time (years) results in increase or buildup of DHT. Is it true, and is it possible to reverse the damage?
someone told me, that scratching your nail to each other with both hands may create a friction that triggers the growth of hair.. is this true?
very nice video
Just think about it, you go bold and loom at all the extra time and money you save from not having to get to cut every few months. Or have to comb it in the morning. Or getting "hat hair". There are plenty of advantages to going bold.
Got a bad receding hairline at 23. Only option is to go on drugs which I was never keen to do or in the future spend a ton of money on a transplant which most likely scar my head and possibly fail. I'd be out of pocket too. I said fuck it I'm shaving my head, couldn't stand this horse shoe on my head. But my head shape isn't ideal, I've got a lil ridge in the middle. So it was pretty much a double whammy. I went through an awkward stage during my teenage years now after escaping that I had to deal with a fucking receding hairline. Life isn't fair and I know this but sometimes i get really down about it. Maybe it's time I try the drugs
Damn that sucks :(
What did you decide to do? Any updates?
Helpful!
i wanted to know why , not how not to cry about it alot i am 22 and i started to bald its nigthmare , and when someone says you are not alone i want to shout in their face f of :D lol :(((
Well, most of my family never went bald. So i have that going for me.
I regrowed hair naturaly by focusing on 3 things: 1)Reducing(remocing) DHT from my skalp 2)Improwing blood flow on hair 3)patience. In bald spots i now have "baby hair" and babies grow, so i have that going well for me. If enough people is interested i can make blog or YT tutorial about it...
How did you do steps 1,2
I started with few days of body cleenup by specific food (you can find these cleanups on net by body detoxing). It is important because you need to remove all DHT to start, because DHT is blocking your hair like stone block grass. When you get hormone balance back (reset it with detox) you should eat healthier food on daily basic.
2) you eat more of witamin b and iron and use exercises to make your blood flow into follicles. But if you don't get rid of DHT it will be like within for plant to grow under a rock.
Late 20's for me, I just rolled with it
i pulled my hair out for a month pulling 5 hairs a day and every time i shower more hair comes out only when i shower can any relate and give advice
In my opinion balding is a natural thing, everyone looses more hairs as they get older, so we should all appreciate every single hair, cuz no matter how much you have your hair is yours and its beautiful, so you should style it n cut it in anyway you like, and remember to keep your hair natural, no treatments for balding etc, your natural hair is beautiful so you should be proud of it no matter if its 50000 strands or even a few strands or even 1 hair, its yours n its gorgeous so use it style it cut it etc! I will style n keep my hair how I like even if I'm losing hair as I'm getting older cuz its my natural lovely hair, btw I like to keep long hair with an undercut, no treatments just natural lovely hair, that's mine!
Most people think that they have it bad, I started going bald at 10 (receding hairline), then my hair kinda grew back, and then at 15 it all went down hill and I pretty much had a receding hairline! Now, I at 30 I just shave my head, every other day.
My maternal grandfather started to be bald on his 18's...and i'm worried about it.
We go bold because hair from our heads migrate to our backs. DUHH
no
densify1
No shit, Einstein.
My hair is thinning and has been for the last couple of decades don't care have done the bald thing and it looks ok so not worried but it is funny how some think it is the end of the world.
Yay no ads in the middle of the video this time!
I never have ads because I use adblock :)
***** false, if there's a advertisment inside the video (Or a product placement) you're getting an ad. you're just stopping the youtube video creators from getting money.
should i mention how those people that made adblock wanted to make ads to make people get adblock?
kingemocut
I donate money to alot of youtubers that I support, most people don't do that, and in my opinion, ads are the most annoying thing ever, I hate them so much, I would rather give them my own money rather than watch some stupid ad about something im never gonna use
***** fair enough, though ads also help keep youtube "free".
kingemocut
that is true, however I would have no problem paying to subscribe to channels that I enjoy watching
Captain Picard and Professor X... there's something similar about those guys, hmmm.
Bruce Willis? Vin Diesel? That guy in Alien Nation? Teal'c? Jason Statham? Sean Connery? Morpheus? Nick Fury? Yoda? That creepy guy with no junk on Game of Thrones? Professor Farnsworth? Homer Simpson? Heisenberg? ...
Well done :)
dont forget kelly slater!
Waste of time! You didn't answer the question.
I started balding at 27. I'm 42 now. Both my cousins completely shave their heads. I am still on the fence about that degree of upkeep and lack of protection from the sun. I hope gene therapy of the not so distant future can alter our hair cells to handle uber testosterone like a champ.
so from my current level of understanding: if u lost more hair then u grow ur balding
means that if ur growth hormons get less by 20% then the avrge u are gonna get bald 20% faster
and the growth hormon needs
fasting( like the famouse ramadan one, it has many types btw, the rule is u dont eat or drink until the maghrib time but what happens afterwards can be left to ur talent like not drinking actual water for 2 more hours or not eating but just breaking the fastong until sohor before the fajer time and many examples u may choose) why fasting?
fasting is unique by the matter of only eating once per day or betwen very few hours once a day and that helps your body to get more space to keep producing energie via burning fat and if u eat a single bite u will u ruine the cyrcle so u either eat or dont u dont eat betwen the time of dinner and lunch as example or dont eat 4 hours before u sleep
and fasting is the perfect example, thus it helps ur growth hormons to be more prodective
number 2 : training, no matter what u think training trigers ur body to the fact that: hey there ur kinda weaker then as perfect as possible and the proof to it is the fact that u lost 30%of ur energie in few minutes u better build stronger muscle
or in other ways: a setudied and very well perfomed methode of breaking helps a lot in rebuilding, if u break the only part u want to replace building will be more focused in that area
and thus training from 20 to 30% of ur max power, reps ,time and stamina everyday will alway be better then training to the max once per 4 days because if u do that ur growth hormons will focuse more at healing then growing and building and thus not as high growth hormons as possible
and since hair loss is literaly losing more then growing it means that somone who takes a better care and acurate growth will age slower and will save his hair
not only will he age slower he will be the closest to as perfect as possible then the rest
and belive me such a hyperthetical as perfect as possible body can smow down aging for houders of years, of course it only slows the effect no the time of death however living healthly is better then porly
I m came by Mairo Vergara!! Studying English.
Wahahaha. The ad before this video was for hair transplantation. LOL
thanks for permanently increasing the likelihood that I will have anti-balding commercials on youtube...
I went bald back in the 1960s ! I look at it this way, it only falls out once and it is the least of my worries ! at least I save on combs ! lol
Jason Statham and The Rock. There you go.
Early to mid 20s for me I suppose but I just keep a low crew cut. I don't try to hide it. My brother (2 years older) has the same hairline but is also balding on top/in back but his hair is longer and thin so it looks bad, pretty much a comb-over. I'd just shave mine off but I have a bump that's been there for years and it would look bad on an otherwise bald head.
Daniel Tosh was going bald early in the shows history and now he has a full head of hair and on one episode he said (in a joking way) it was the result of pins and needles.
I am woman and I have diffuse hairloss, I wish it was only receding hairline or some baldspot that I can simply transplant, my hair is thinning all over my scalp this is the worst thing that could happen to a woman. At least men can shave their head and still be handsome and attractive just like Vin Diesel or The Rock.
Another cause of baldness in women is Polycystic ovary syndrome. When the female body produces to much male hormone. This syndrome does a list of other things to the body as well
I'm 28 and luckily it's not too bad yet that I can't hide it, it's not too noticeable. Actually I think my brother, who's 2 years younger, might be a bit worse. Or maybe it's just that his hair is shorter right now. I really don't like the shaved look so I will hide it as long as I can.
Come on science, give a cure already.
My dad is bald. And I've always heard about "you get baldness genes from you mother", tbh this is what's always I have been clinging on since no one on my mom's side is bald(although one of them have started thinning hair, but it's probably just due to age, he's 50+). But I've also heard that this is not really true.....so is it or is it not? And in your case, which parent had a family history of mpb?
Research is still ongoing, and not sure exactly what causes it. The mother's side seems to play a major role though, for a key gene that causes MPB is located on the X chromosome. But research indicates that the father's genes play some role too. But as I said, they don't really not as of now.
In my case both my grandpa (mother's side) and my dad were/are bald. I lost my hair at the age of 20. My brother (older) on the other hand has perfect hair.
peace bewith u yeah I don't believe that whole mother side thing. My grandpa on my moms side died with a full head of hair. My dad is bald and guess what....my oldest brother is bald, my other older brother is receding and I've started to thing. So no it's not just your mothers side of the genes it's both of your parents genes
Can u guys make a video of "how electricity works? And where it comes from? " I really wanna know😊
I'm not sure if we have a video about it yet, but we DO have an article!
science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm
I never liked having hair anyway so it works out good I just hate having to shave everyday.
yh man i wear the wooly hat I got a sharp hairline its annoying..But I just have to get use to it
I don't have to worry my grandpa is over 60 and he hasn't even started to lose his hair I'm serious!!
I began to lose my hair like ridiculous last year. I'm studying engineering and I was drinking alot of coffe and only drinking 2 glasses of water a day. I had alot of dandruff and lost alot of hair. I panicked and stopped drinking coffe and began drinking alot more water to stay hydrated. But the hair didn't stop falling out. It helped a little bit, but not entirely.
I cut my hair a bit short and began applying coconut oil on my hair. And Presto !!
After 2 months of doing this, my hair stopped falling out.
Coconut & Olive oil is a old remedy for hair loss. It works :)
+Aziz Ahmad Which worked better? Coconut oil or Olive oil? Did it regrow your hair?
+RideWitMe1 vadika enriched coconut hair oil. make sure to cut the hair somewhat short so it can reach the scalp.
Aziz Ahmad Is it called Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Oil? Did you see any hair growth with usage?
+RideWitMe1 yeah
Aziz Ahmad Okay much appreciated, I'll give that a try.
Another great bald hero is Matthew Santoro!
Three words for a cure, micro scalp pigmentation. A follicle sized needle penetrates ink that will not turn blue over time and mimics a natural hairline. It's not cheap but it is the best cure so far.
I'm getting bald but I've always shaved my air now I wish I let it big when I was younger so I could get cool pics Lmao
Am 24 and losing my hair were people notice now i been using a shampo called vacunda and taking super boitin 5,000 in a pill it hasent stop it from falling completly but it has slow it out a bit... My baber toll me today that it seen like my hair is starting to grow again but then again i dont know if he was just being nice lol
I have trichotillomania. but only for my eyelashes
i was 21 when I lost my hair ! I don't have to shave my hair because there is nothing there to shave !
I'm not gonna lie, that sounds pretty good. Lost my hair at the age of 20-ish. But I still have to shave it every other day.
OK, so I'm nowhere near baldness (for now), but something worries me. My mom has straight hair and my dad has curly, and I was born with my mother's genes for hair, but around puberty my hair started going wavy (not curly). Also my dad is currently 54, meaning that he's balding for the past 8 years. So my question is, whose genes will I have after reaching 30?
+Mindevous It's hard to say how your parents' genes will manifest in you, but look to your mother's dad for clues about whether you'll start balding. The gene for balding is only on the X chromosome that men inherit from their mothers.
Chill, by your comment it sure is genetic, and it can affect you differently from your father it's not going to be the same always but all hope is not lost, take my case for example my dad is bald since the day I was born, both grandparents too, I have 3 brothers me being the younger 2 of them lost hair and of curse as I suspected me too not only that I started those hair since I was like 15 by 18 it was pretty obvious that I was losing my hair shampoos and remedies doesn't help, you know what I did? Went to a dermatologist, easy as that, he gave a special shampoo (pretty specific not the kind you're going to see on TV) and prescribed mg of Proscar, this one being actually a prostate medicine with a 5mg presentation but also helps with the hair with a reduced doses of just 1 mg? The result? I'm close to 26 and have more hair than when I was 18 not a single side effect, the "bad news" is that you need to keep taking the little pill and using the shampoo like, forever hahaha, if you stop your hair will start to fall again but it's actually pretty cheap and is no big deal I get enough pills for 6 months and a shampoo for 6 months too for less than 70 bucks, you can even stop taking the pills for like 2 months and start taking them again, just ask your dermatologist, trust me do it as fast as you can, if you hesitate you could lose hair and not getting it back even after taking the pills, I waited until I was like 19 to go and I lost hair that I cannot her back, it's like, your hair starts to get thinner then it stops growing and a little time after that the folicul dies if that happens you cannot get it back, but as long as the folicul is still there you can get a full natural and pretty hair of you do what the dermatologist tells you, don't lose time!

For this episode I saw an advertisement for hair growth.
James Rawson yup
I don't understand how videos like these can make statements like in the beginning about scalp massages saying that it's just a myth but doing nothing to tell us why. I think people want answers not biased opinions. food for thought
my hair have started to become white my whole hair were black. pls tell me why genes or me. who's mistake.
+himanshu rana It's probably your genes. Hair is colored because of melanin, which is a pigment that's produced by special cells (melanocytes) in our skin. As we age, the stem cells that grow melanocytes start dying off. It's a completely natural thing that happens to just about everybody, but researchers aren't sure why it happens. (Except for a few medical conditions, like autoimmune disorders, in which your cells aren't receiving as many nutrients as they should. But you'd probably already realize if you had one of those. Smoking may also lead to your melanocytes dying off.)
21 going to shave it lol
i hope i dont look like an hitman :p
how do you stop the prontaglandin d2
what happened to Howie Mandel?
I think I am balding, I am 20, I know this is inevitable as my dad is balding as well, but he is in his late 50's. My right temple has receded quite significantly, I actually have a very thick, and full head of hair. It's just my right temple... it's gotten worst ever since I've noticed it. Initially I thought it was due to stress (had to sit 18 exams in 1 week), but its been a year and a half since then and it has gotten worst.... I don't mind balding, if I were in my 30's or later....
Scarx2gt You and I are almost the same haha. I'm 20 now and my hairline has receded a bit at the temples and on the front top of my head has thinned a little bit. I started this process when I was about 17 but I had buzzcut hair. I only noticed when I was 18 when i started trying to grow my hair out. for me aside from genetics i think not caring for my hair and self was and is a big factor in the cause for hair loss. Ive started taking better care of my hair doing the following: not using harsh shampoo and only washing hair with shampoo every now and then. Moisturizing hair with oils and apple cider vinegar( ACV for me is to help with dry itchy scalp, it also makes the hair really nice and soft) and massaging the head every now and again while applying oils to promote bloodflow. Doing the above I have noticed some very small regrowth in receded temple area and top of head. I am still trying to make my diet better but keep in mind diet is the most important factor aside from genetics.
