I'm a musician and I have written my best songs in dreams, half remembering them first thing in the morning, as I'm in and out of consciousness, but by the time I wake up fully, it has slipped away. I am fascinated by dreams! Great video ❤
Pretty Ironic, our brains our so powerful you can absolutely stumpled upon your songs in dream which you obviously did not make. That puts a thought, we are underestimating the power of brain and ourselves. It concluded if even an average joe unlocks his brain somehow he can also create wonders. Note, I'm a musician too.
The only time I've watched somebody sleep Is when I was really young (7 or 8) because I saw my mom's eyes moving under her eyelids while she slept and I just sat there being fascinated.
BananaGrabber ok i got somthing wierd i was dreaming that a was somewhere and one of the teachers was telling us something. next day on a place whre i never was and never had seen... exectly the same this as in the dream. exact same placd words teacher. whaaaaaaaat? can yo explane? it's confusing how this could happen.
I was a victim of some pretty sick child abuse and neglect for a nine year period, starting when I was 4, and had many many extremely vivid nightmares during those years, most of which I still remember all too well at the age of 63. They mainly dealt with themes of isolation and helplessness. I also had night terrors as a small child for awhile. They're sort of hallucinations that occur just as one is falling asleep. In the night terrors I was always being chased by white circles. Why white circles? Beats me. When I was 8 I had a dream that was comprised of snippets of a bunch other dreams all glued together, all unrelated. These little snippets were mostly very mundane, not vivid like some other dreams I was having, and were separated by brief images of swirls of mist. It was pretty weird. About two weeks later I was in a house where I'd never been before (my cousin took me over to a friends house, someone I'd never met before.) He showed us his fish tank and I happened to mention something about one of the fishes' tails. The moment the words left my mouth I had the strongest feeling of deja vu I've ever had. And then I remembered I had said those exact same words about the fish's tail in one of those dream segments from two weeks earlier. I remembered the dream segment clearly. I know this sounds crazy, but I think I had a clairvoyant dream! I wonder if this is what deja vu actually is, partially remembering a dream that's somehow been replicated in real life. Food for thought I guess. There was a period as a young man when my dreams were affected by my experimentation with hallucinogenics. Had some dreams where I was feeling the hallucinogenic effects in the dream. These were sometimes quite epic and fantastical. Sometimes these dreams had long plots I could remember afterwards that included an especially epic segment, sort of the highlight of the dream, that would repeat in other dreams with different plots, and at other times it was more like an uncontrolled subconscious swirl of emotions, colors, sounds and sights. I also had dreams during this period which were so realistic that I was convinced I was not dreaming, but awake. In one of those dreams my buddies and I were cruising around in a car as we often did back then. I happened to be sitting in the back seat when we hit a semi and my skull got crushed. I sat straight up in bed and experienced hallucinogenic effects for about 10 minutes. Later when I was in my thirties I had repeated episodes of sleep paralysis accompanied by hallucinations like the strong feeling that someone was standing over me with a knife and a weird unsettling sound, sort of like a scream or squeal that gets progressively louder and induces more panic the louder it gets. I'd have to try to shake myself out of paralysis by *trying* to thrash about, and I'd try to scream for help, for my wife to shake me awake and could only mumble weakly. Eventually i was able to shake myself out of it but it sometimes took a long time and was quite exhausting. Fortunately it's been at least 20 years since I've had problematic dreams. Nowadays I only remember the occasional dream, rarely have unpleasant dreams, and more often than not wake up with only a very vague impression or echo of a dream but can't remember details.
You know that feeling when you have a dream and you realize you're dreaming and then you're like "no don't wake up I wanna have to have a lucid dream" but then you wake up
I can lucid dream at will. I do this at the stage where you wake up but haven't opened your eyes yet. just go back to sleep and start thinking about cool potential dreams, however this requires you to have nothing to do that morning otherwise you will think your running late for something and wake up too much.
i realised i was in a dream so i tried to control it, i could answer questions and make minor decisions but i tried flying and it didnt work i was just jumping around
MemeMore lol ikr but sometimes the good dreams or bad stays in your memory cuz i had a ufo dream 11 years ago and i still remember all the details or maybe it wasn’t actually a dream....
As someone who experienced lucid dreaming for a long time, my first time lucid dreaming was a bit of a scary experience to me. Not only can I physically move my body but it feels like it's actually happening. I caused this thing where I "become my dream" and it was very hard for me to focus and after a while I have gotten used to lucid dream and the thing about it is that I started doing it at day and night, but then the lucid dreaming got to a point where I started to feel like I am not in a dream but rather another world and then I started doing crazy stuff (I think you would know what I'm talking about) and The people I do it with are people I know in real life and it made me more confident but I changed. Like I said, I started "becoming my dream" and the me from my lucid dreams became me in real life and because of that, people have been avoiding me and my friends would always say I'm weird. That's when I started noticing myself and what I'm doing and what I'm saying. Then I have been getting very scared of just absolutely refuse to go outside and talk to people. I still lucid dream, which I am fine with, but I haven't regularly dreamed in a while. If you are planning on lucid dreaming, please don't make the same mistakes I have made.
does anyone else sometimes have dreams where they're aware that they're dreaming but can't control what they're doing? and also dreams where you're aware and can force yourself to wake up?
Yeah, i used to do it more when I was younger. When I realized what it was I started using my lucid dreams more productively. Since your mind operates in a similar fashion to how you would be awake, i started practicing stuff like piano or just doing cool stuff, since your mind can contribute those skills to muscle memory i improved some skill in those areas. I also liked to focus and completely recreate a memory or story. The interesting thing about that is that lucid dreaming either ends with you waking up or fading back into a regular dream as you lose control. So the story can kinda run itself. I used to also yell "this is a dream" if i figured out I was just having a nightmare, then I would wake up
I am a part-time filmmaker and often dream of the most incredible stories that feel like a "masterpiece". They are such elaborate exciting stories that I could never invent in my waking life. And yet I forget almost 95% of them right after I wake up, I can only remember the feeling: "Wow, this is so good, if I implement this I will be famous".
I challenge everyone who sees this to start a dream diary. You can write it in a notebook or your phone, it doesn’t matter. It’s so fun, I promise! I cannot tell you how many times I’ve looked back at my dream diary and been so confused and concerned about what dreams my brain concocts every night.
I sometimes lucid dream, it happened a few days ago, but whenever I realize I'm dreaming, I'm like "hey wait i can do whatever..." and then have no idea what to do. In a dream, your senses are much more foggy, and thinking straight is hard, so it's hard to control your dream even if you know you can, and if you do, it's not really very fun due to the nature of dreams. You can tell no one is real. Also, most of my dreams are lucid, but you also forget a lot of stuff in your dreams, so even if I know it's a dream, I rarely remember I can control it. Whenever I realise i can control the dream, much of the dream has already passed, and since idk what to do in it, I kinda just let the dream play out until I forget I can control it. Although sometimes I make myself run really fast or fly around. Last dream I had, I was in a dangerous situation and then I remembered i could control it and made myself super fast and the gas gas gas meme was in my head at the time so I ran from the monster singing "gas gas gas" then tried to spawn in a radio playing it to make it funnier, but unfortunately, I couldn't manage to do it, it's often hard to do the thing because you don't really know how other than imagining it. One time, I was flying in my dream, then was like... how do I do this again? I basically forgot how to do it because to fly forwards I had to imagine it, not do it. And it was very confusing. Also, because most of my dreams are lucid, even nightmares don't scare me because I know it's a dream, and I can just tell whatever is tryna kill me "hey uhhh i dont really care because ill either just respawn or wake up since this is a dream" and the thing sometimes doesn't react to the information or goes oh I'm in a dream? One time I was in an intense fight with some sort of giant lizard then paused and said "wait why are we doing this again, this is all a dream" then he said idk and we both thought for a second. Then I came to the conclusion "lets just keep fighting its kinda fun" and the dream continued.
My dreams are extremely vivid, very detailed and I'm able to recall them from the moment they started and where they stopped. I also have recurring dreams that have taken place over a 15yr period where they connect with one another. When I think about my dreams or describe them to others, they appear in my mind as if I'm recalling a factual memory which sometimes is disturbing because I have questioned if I was dreaming or actually experiencing the memories of someone I was in another life or if I'm connecting with myself in another reality while being in an unconscious state....
I have been dreaming every night for as long as I can remember. Most mornings I wake up exhausted. The dreams are so vivid, I feel like I’m actually leaving my body and experiencing them in reality. Its mind blowing to me how much I remember about the dreams, I tell my wife the crazy stories. As I’m getting older, the exhaustion is causing brain fog and words are getting more difficult to put together. No medical reason like Alzheimer’s for sure.
Every once in a while I have dreams where my hair is different or shorter and I remember it being that way always while also being shocked. There's always a feeling that I'm involved in a different situation or chapter in life that has been going on for a while even though the dream was short lasting and new to me, That's the closest we'll get the visiting an alternate self in reality. The only thing that holds me off from believing they are alternative realities are the abstract parts of those dreams but that could be me mixing up how realistic the memory actually was after I wake up here
From my personal experience If you usually realize that ur dreaming and when I do in dreams, I try to visualize it but I fail then wake up and be like whhhhhaaaaa It’s a sign of gaining consciousness and ur naturally waking up
I had a few lucid dreams i dream every day but i forget most throughout the day i dont remember anything from my todays dream tho its weird last couple of days i feel like i didnt dream

I had sleep paralysis when I was in high school. Actually got it from a medication I was on. I didn’t see anything creepy but I would wake up and be stuck. After awhile I learned just to relax and go back to sleep.

Ex: If it was a nightmare, I'll know it was a nightmare because I wake up feeling and knowing that I'm shaken up and that it wasn't pleasant. @@edt5498 Nah, that's a myth that has become more popular since "Inception". I've told dream characters in my lucid dreams that it was all just a dream and they were characters in it, and they either looked at me with an "Uhoh, she's gone crazy!" expression, politely changed the subject or just told me gently that I was mistaken and this was not a dream. None of them reacted with aggression. You need to keep in mind that they are just projections of your subconscious and have no thoughts, wishes, beliefs or fears of their own, so they will only become hostile if a part if you believes and expects that is going to happen. It can be difficult to remind yourself of that, because they seem so real, but they are not sentient beings.

I remember a couple dreams. 1. One time I went into the sewers with a group of strangers, but there was a gigantic room with a bottomless pit and only a blue and red roller coaster without the carts going different ways over the abyss. We split up and climbed them endlessly. I was 12. 2. I was in a school bus with 2 of my friends and 1 of them was driving. We were going to a mountain, but my friend drove off the road into the water. She opened the bus door and I swam out and grabbed the side of the bus, but it flipped over and flung me into the air. Even though I was flying, I felt like I was falling and I woke up. I was 13. 3. On a mountain, there was a talking statue, and I caught fish from a pond that cost $5 a fish. I was 13. 4. I had a dream where I was walking and there was a giant hole with evil Princess Bubblegum trying to kill me. I woke myself up immediately and I was scared and under my blanket. I was 6. 5. I was sitting on the toilet peeing and then I woke up peeing. I was 5.
Dream is reality, reality is a dream. You are real and real is fake. Real and fake cancel out to give nothingness. So, this all is nothing, just nothing. Universe is fooling us.

I lucid dream every single night. During highschool I was especially stressed out just because. There were times where I'd have a lucid nightmare and I'd wake up only to be awake in the same nightmare, and I mean fully awake and able to move. At one point I had to go fetal position in the corner of my room until the nightmare was gone, usually lasted about 10 seconds after waking up. I've had everything from waking up to a bat flying above my head, to some form of this just black demon/unworldly creature just watching me

Thanks. I'm glad my sleeping brain helps me learn. Those of us who work a lot with dream content can see how our dreams address concerns neglected during the day, as when someone goes through a day mostly in the head, without feeling, and then dreams emotionally and colorfully that night. Or when a situation that should concern us goes unrecognized and returns in symbolic form at night. Dreams speak accurately about such things, but in metaphors, not literally.

When I was around the age of 8 or 9 I used to tell I was dreaming, and would force myself to awake just by opening my eyes. To me it felt like I was entering another dimension, as if I lost control of my movement though was able to control it anyways. I could never remember the dream itself, but the whole experience I could never forget. It was as if the inside of my eyelids displayed images and opening my eyes cut it in half, though reality was complete darkness, until it phased back in. Crazy, I know. It happened to me a few times and then I just had regular dreams after that, some dreams even being that I knew I was in a dream, but wouldn't have the will to do anything. Oh yeah and once I had a dream I could control, but I fooled myself potentially and probably will never have the opportunity again. I can remember wanting to do something, but then thinking: "Wait a minute this doesn't feel right, how tf can I control my dreams?" Well anything I wanted to happen didn't after that, and just awoke kicking myself because I thought my thoughts prevented the thoughts I wanted to have!
When I was 9, in 2004, a tsunami hit our hometown on the eve of Christmas and caused massive destruction. Since then, I've had nightmares about huge waves sweeping me into the sea. These dreams always drowned me in my sleep. But for some time now, these dreams have become lucid. I can now control the outcome of the dreams and make them positive ones where I am not swept away into the sea.
I just become lucid and if I'm lucky I can try to reason with them like I was hiding from a guy with a knife in a dream once and I knew they were waiting for me to peek from under this bed mattress I was hiding under and I just got tired of waiting for him to get me so I got out from under the mattress and exclaimed "Okay I'm getting bored let's get this over with already." and then he stabbed me in my right side.

When I practiced lucid dreaming, I would keep a dream journal and write down everything I could immediately remember once I woke up. I did that everyday and eventually I was able to remember more of my dreams in more detail. Sometimes I even had fully lucid dreams, very fun.
Why writing down? I always go trough my dreams after I wake up and trough the day sometimes but I still don’t get why writing it down? What does it change
@@chuunibyu it can help you remember more details and dreams the more often you do it. Plus when you start to write your dreams down you can start to notice patterns sometimes or specific things that may have happened in the dream which can help keep your mind focused on those types of things next time you sleep. The more you can recognized these things while dreaming, then the better chance you have at becoming lucid. I started out by counting each finger on my hand while I was awake, while simultaneously touching the fingers. You can also try looking at a clock and reading the time aloud. This can become a muscle memory so when you do it in your dream you will notice that something is off from the norm. For example when you dream you might notice that you have an extra finger or are missing one during your count, or the clock could look strange and not make sense. This is sort of like a trigger for you to realize you are dreaming and to take control.

I love how he explores the different theories behind why we dream. From Freud's wild ideas to more scientific explanations, he covers it all. And it's not just boring facts - he keeps it engaging with cool visuals and examples that make you go, "Whoa, I never thought of it like that!" Plus, the video gets you thinking about your own dreams and what they might mean. Like, have you ever had a dream that felt so real you woke up questioning if it actually happened? Overall, "Why Do We Dream" is one of those videos that makes you go down a rabbit hole of thought. It's entertaining, educational, and leaves you pondering the mysteries of the human brain. Definitely worth a watch if you're into mind-bending stuff!
I haven't had any lucid dreams before, but I've had a few 4th wall breaking ones. In one dream, I was at school and a dangerous dog was on the loose. A teacher asked me to take care of the problem, and I said something like, "Oh it's no big deal, this'll all be over when I wake up". I woke up shortly afterwards
I used to have 4th wall breaks in dreams every night during a time particularly filled with existential dread. It always felt like foreign entities, or "spirits", occupied the space, and I was a foreign outsider. Like "there's nothing here for you, return to where you came from, this world is empty". It was more disturbing than actual nightmares sometimes, and the feeling of derealization persisted beyond these ethereal dreams. I recall quite vividly one dream, of exclusively blue and violet hues, of a vapourwave plane/grid, set outside of time. I was sitting down with this otherworldly, physically unimposing being that told me it was time to go, that I didn't belong here, and I can't keep coming back. Those particular eerily 4th-wall-breaking dreams mostly ended after that, but they were like scopophobia for the soul. I'm not spiritual, and I believe it all occurred within my mind, but it sure didn't feel like it was set upon my own stage.
I always ♾ find dreams have inferable, hidden information 🕵🕵🕵 that is not directly perceived 🤐🤐🤐 about the dream world 🌍🌍🌍. E.g. Character 👤🪞 motivations ❓, modus/modi operandi 🛣🛣🛣, the validity ✅❌ of a statement 📑 within the dream, etc. Dreams 💤 are primarily logic 🤔 puzzles 🧩🧩🧩. I think the answer to this is that you in the dream are using a dream to communicate with someone else. Though one needs details to make a definite inference. That is why writing dreams down helps.

Obviously lucid dreams are the best, they're loads of fun. But I once had sleep paralysis, and, while I understand why people think it's scary, I was sort of fascinated by it. Sure, for a second it felt like there was weight on my chest, almost like I couldn't breathe, but once I figured out that I was awake-but still sort of under-it went away. Then I just had fun letting my mind wander (it felt like I was floating, in a way, like I was still in a dream, but I knew I wasn't) and scan my body... You know, like you would kind of do for meditation. I just focused on parts of my body and tried to wiggle fingers and such, but not too hard, because I didn't want the paralysis to go away too quickly. I don't know, there's just something interesting about being inside your head, feeling your body a 'step back' from where you normally perceive the world, without feeling everything at once. I think the fact that I couldn't see (my eyes must have been closed) had something to do with the feeling. Also, it's nice to feel as though you can immediately sink back into a dream with a single thought, instead of having to force yourself to relax to drift off to sleep. It's like being stuck on that precipice between reality and sleep, but without immediately snapping out of it the moment you consciously notice you're there. Of course, I wouldn't always want to be paralyzed, but when you know the sensation will soon disappear, it takes away a lot of the fear.
DynamiA3 I have sleep paralysis at keast three times a week and my eyes don't always open but I can hear things that aren't there, like UA-cam vidoes or people. It's only scary when I hear screaming or whispering and the voices are right next to me and I have to breathe really heavy and try to cry to wake up
I’m coming off anxiety medication and am experiencing extremely vivid dreams, I can even remember a dream from yesterday and could draw it now. I’m not endorsing abusing medication, but it’s really helping my creativity.
An interesting thing I’ve noticed is when I’m light sleeping say in the living room, and A loud noise gets made all of the sudden it wakes me up but in my dream something happens to where I knew the loud noise was coming a sec before I heard it. It’s like while unconscious I was still aware of my body’s surroundings if not actually knowing what was about to happen before it did...

Yes only when I had nightmares I was able to shut my eyes, then bam I wake up
Yeah, i used to do it more when I was younger. I used to also yell "this is a dream" if i figured out I was just having a nightmare, then I would wake up
Sometimes, getting better with it tho

When I sleep It's like I blink... I close my eyes at night, then I open them and it's morning... it's like no time passes
I've always wanted to vividly dream
Every once in a while I have dreams where my hair is different or shorter and I remember it being that way always while also being shocked. There's always a feeling that I'm involved in a different situation or chapter in life that has been going on for a while even though the dream was short lasting and new to me, That's the closest we'll get the visiting an alternate self in reality.
The only thing that holds me off from believing they are alternative realities are the abstract parts of those dreams but that could be me mixing up how realistic the memory actually was after I wake up here

Dream is reality, reality is a dream. You are real and real is fake. Real and fake cancel out to give nothingness. So, this all is nothing, just nothing. Universe is fooling us.

Wtf brain thanks
sometimes I have dreams of me in the future. Like one random ass part of my life, such as sitting on the bus. Weeks or months later I do exactly that and I get this weird feeling of deja vu and then remember that I dreamt the exact same thing a few months ago. Anyone else get this?
peterkrepkiy yea I get it to except I wake up after I see myself
Absolutely yes! funny enough I had a pop quiz in my dream and remembered the date for some reason and on that date in real life i cut my teacher off mid-class to say we have a pop quiz today

The thought of thinking I was only 4 when this came out is crazy, and seeing how good the camera quality was back then is crazy.
I had a dream last night that a friend and I were late for school. I told my friend “don’t worry I got this” then proceeded to get on and ride a motorized suitcase I called an Audi. I completely wiped out going 45 on it and felt fine and just got back on. I don’t know how my brain gets this stuff, but very strange dreams like this are normal for me.

Anyone had a dream that was so scary, u couldn’t talk or scream
I lucid dream every single night. During highschool I was especially stressed out just because. There were times where I'd have a lucid nightmare and I'd wake up only to be awake in the same nightmare, and I mean fully awake and able to move.
At one point I had to go fetal position in the corner of my room until the nightmare was gone, usually lasted about 10 seconds after waking up. I've had everything from waking up to a bat flying above my head, to some form of this just black demon/unworldly creature just watching me
Nismo Gaming omg yes one time i had a dream that someone was crawling through the window the one i slept in my moms bed and i tried screaming and i couldn’t so instead i scream in real life and wake everyone in the house up? has this happened to anyone else??
yeah happened to me too that shit was the scariest I experienced in my whole life fucking shit I can't expressed in words how terrifying it was
Nick Z that’s terrifying!
Ya, this was when I was younger. So apparently there was this stuff alligator that’s on the stairs slowly turning it’s head to me each step I take. I tried telling “mom!” But I couldn’t say it. I felt like I was going to throw up each time I tried to talk
Me: Whoah, that dream felt so weird, what was it about?
My brain: Good question.
You know that feeling where you are in a dream and it was a really good one and was heading towards a really good direction when suddenly something wakes you up, and you're like oh sh**, need to close my eyes rn and keep the cinema playing! Before it's over and destroyed... But in the end, opening your eyes suddenly changes your state of consciousness and the ticket guy kicks you outta the cinema... And your awake
Yea that always sucks
Yeah it sucks I was back in high school and In a soccer game it felt so good and everyone was happy jjst miss that shit made me realize I gotta get back to that
Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight, and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears; and sometime voices,
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again: and then, in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open, and show riches
Ready to drop upon me; that, *when I waked,
I cried to dream again.*
I actually managed to get back into the dream once

"if you watch someone sleep, like I usually to do" What? Michael is a creepy stalker.

I've had Lucid dreams. I know I'm in a dream and I suddenly can control time and space...
But only for a short period. Then I awake
Start to spin in your dreams, it works to keep you asleep
I've heard and read that getting too exited about whatever you're doing might wake you up, and take Scayds advice, that helps
You can also rub your hands together really fast and it helps you stay asleep.
in your dream you think it's quick but it's actually hours in real life. weird thing about dreams. there's no time
When I was around the age of 8 or 9 I used to tell I was dreaming, and would force myself to awake just by opening my eyes.
When I'm dreaming something scary I just close my eyes hard and I'm not in the dream
I just keep telling myself that I’m not awake and that I’m dreaming usually wakes me up
Will idk , for me its easy to leave my dreams
Bumble Bee same for but sometimes it doesn't have to be scary
I used to be able to do the exact same thing as kid, squeezing my eyes together would always make me wake up
I just become lucid and if I'm lucky I can try to reason with them like I was hiding from a guy with a knife in a dream once and I knew they were waiting for me to peek from under this bed mattress I was hiding under and I just got tired of waiting for him to get me so I got out from under the mattress and exclaimed "Okay I'm getting bored let's get this over with already." and then he stabbed me in my right side.

I haven't had any lucid dreams before, but I've had a few 4th wall breaking ones. In one dream, I was at school and a dangerous dog was on the loose. A teacher asked me to take care of the problem, and I said something like, "Oh it's no big deal, this'll all be over when I wake up". I woke up shortly afterwards
lol
Gaining consciousness inside of a dream - happened to me a lot of times. It's such a The Matrix type of shit.
@@dead.inside.585that’s how it starts. You keep doing that and eventually you’ll be able to lucid dream.
Aaaaand with that I'm going to try to actually get some sleep without thinking about myself sleeping too much
