I see MK the pianist and dums going drunk with EC solo, only if you are in a show of EC you can understand this feeling, I remember get drunk with his solos, it's like he put his pain of had a desgraceful life about not having a dad, his mom is his sister, and his son dying into blues, and then you disgrace cry too, and everybody soul cry together with pentatonic bends crying across stadiums.
Mmmm find it hard to argue that one. Astonishing artists in their own right. Together live well that's a showcase of brilliance. Two of the greatest artists/guitar players ever is alright with me mate 👍
Always preferred his Fender Lace Sensor pickups as demonstrated so well here. Same as used on his 24 Nights concert. Must be great to be able to mesmerize a packed audience at the Royal Albert Hall
You don`t have to be born poor to feel the blues. Clapton is still the best exponent of the art this country has ever produced, and he has experienced low points in his life. He discovered his Mum wasnt actually his Mum !, and he went through a deep depression in the late 60`s. He grew up listening to the blues greats on valve radio, like Robert Johnson, Barbecue Bob, Blind Lemon, and others. Anyone who says this guy aint qualified, just doesnt get it.
Eric Clapton on lead, Phil Collins on drums and who knows who else on stage with these guys, so great to have stumbled across this, thank you. Love your show.
Well,.... after all that year's Eric is still standing straight up. The man did have to overcome a lot of drama. But.... still on the road and he still amazes me time after time. I'm 67 and I'm close to going back to mother nature. But if you ask me... Eric is the best guitarist of all time. My God, did he bring us pleasure or what ? SpeesCees@ august 2021
Honestly, I'd turn up just to hear EC sing - I've seen him a number of times since the early 80's, and he's never failed to deliver, vocally. I think he is criminally overlooked, for the gift of his rich, ever-mellower voice. Check the sheet music for his output - he can sing in any damn key he wants to!
Hew is not overlooked. He`s been considered the second best Guitarist in Rock , Pop and blues since he started Cream in 1966. He was only challenged by Jimi Hendrix during the late sixties and the year 1970. After Hendrix tragic death EC has then been the most influencial Guitarist of all time.
@@sellammar1 Please, read what I said. Yes, he's a fantastic, and very highly rated guitarist, and I have a great deal of his albums and have seen him several times. My point was about his VOICE. I said if ALL he did was sing, he should still be seen as one of the best voices in Rock & Blues.
If I've ever seen a legendary band this is it! Clapton and Knopfler on guitars, Pino pallidino on bass, Jools Holland on keys and Phil Collins on drums - That's shit hot!
You're so right. When it comes to large arena performances Ray Cooper is the percussion man - magical is the only word I can think to describe his playing - always giving a sense of presence and occasion.
Blues is for the soul, It consumes you So beautiful, with so much emotion This video is so inspiring everyone on stage is possessed almost, by the blues So much love
These guy's are my friends and have been for 50 years. The older we get the more polished we get. The rough edges left years ago, now it's just the music. Eric's solos have to be simplified. If he was playing his full potential the guitar would burst into flames
This particular performance ripped my head open about the blues back in the day. I'll never forget it. They manage to summon something bigger than the individuals here. Magic.
I absolutely agree. That said, even if Mark were given more time (as he deserves) it wouldn't be a duel or a battle. Both artists have spent decades impressing each other and building strong mutual respect. If anything, they would each simply play their best, for the crowd and for the MUSIC itself, and each would encourage and motivate the other to be as amazing as possible. When you reach their level, it's no longer a contest; it's a collaboration.
A lot of people try, but only one person on this planet plays like that. Recognizable in the dark!
True that! 😊
Angela Thompson
Clapton, Collins and Knopfler all British Legends... What a combination on stage??? +++

Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler on the same stage = The BEST music/ talent the world will EVER hear/feel.
Mmmm find it hard to argue that one. Astonishing artists in their own right. Together live well that's a showcase of brilliance. Two of the greatest artists/guitar players ever is alright with me mate 👍
There's another genius...Phil Collins play Drums☺
..plus Phl Collins, Jules Holland and the legendary Ray Cooper! Amazing.
I think there is one person missing, just think how great it would be for Knopfler and Clapton to share a stage with Peter Green...
Oh my!!! What a treat. You GO tambourine
His phrasing will always be the reason I appreciate everything Clapton embodies...he listens to everything...feels every note and it just bleeds out
yeah and to put that many good licks together, makes him my best
Wow lots of finger on the frets there.. Sweet music.
Just does not get the credit
For his singing voice.
Been listening to him for over
Fifty years.
Ray Cooper, the only bloke who can make banging a tambourine look like an art form!
2 of the greatest guitarist of our time! Alot of talent up on that stage! MAGIC 🎼🎸🎸🎼🎶❤❤
Hello 👋 Pamela. How are you doing? Hope you are fine
This is the first time ive seen this... im mesmerized
Haha, so many have played that song. May of them palyed it well. Clapton is just miles high above everyone
dude, mark is a beast, no pick, just his fingers and a whole lotta soul!
The most amazing thing about this performance is how quiet and respectful the crowd is. A crowd in awe is the best crowd of all.
yeah, I don't even dare to make a sound hearing it at home, imagine them!
Well... Audience is probably a decent target group being able to apprehend / enjoy the show. At least my experience from Knopfler concerts
Always at a Clapton show.....ask how I know 😊

Phil's blues drumming feel is amazing. He hesitates on the beat just enough..

Man, this ain't a competition. They are on stage having fun.
3 legends (EC, MK, PC).....
What a classic line up of the greatest Blues musicians. Wish I'd been there.
Eric Clapton on lead, Phil Collins on drums and who knows who else on stage with these guys, so great to have stumbled across this, thank you. Love your show.
You know you're good when Mark Knopfler lets you play lead to his rhythm guitar.
I prefer Knopfler.
Clapton, Collins and Knopfler... Legends for ever!!!!!!
bien sur

Per sempre.
And the guy with the tamborine
This is terrific Phil, Eric and our Dire Straits man - Knopfler - - Knock outs!!1

Two TITANS of guitar players, what do you expect?
Eric Clapton just kills it every time on guitar, my new fav😱🎸
2018 and this still sounds so fresh and soulful. Blues at its best. ❤
Had the pleasure of having these three guys in my Bar (back in the late 80's) one of my best memories, I love these guys
Only Phill and Mark , have you to meet Eric
The Best of the Best!!

Omg! Put Knopfler and Clapton on the same stage and prepare to die of joy! And add Phil Collins on drums??? Bliss! xx

Clapton and knopfler...2 of the greatest guitarists of our time. Clapton is smoking hot with his nasty licks. Great collab. Classic!

Clapton, Cooder, Knopfler, Collins. Gorgeous. Thank's.
+alain karasek and jules holland on the piano
Amazing Clapton! The blues just get bluer in his notes.🥰🥰
71 yrs. old and cant escape the blues with this man !!!!
71 in 14 days, Agree completely!!!
Me, too.
feelin so young at 69!
61...just a pup, I guess.

Here, Phil was in a great shape...i'm so sorry for him...God bless you for what you gave us !!
The organ and the piano make this one especially great.
My God... what a talented guys... Just awesome...
The lick Eric throws down at 1:44 sends chills up my spine. Such a great band, song and performance!
This two musician's make something great . For me this is magic .
A whole list of great musicians oh what a treat.
In the sixties it was written on the walls, Clapton is |God.
I'am glad God is still with us.
Love,love,love it
When Clapton sings "youve been gone for 24 houres", Phil imitates a clock. Great song!

thanks brinley from your precisions from "jammer's" very interessants from my modest musical culture !! respect Guy. jacky. french.
like a steaming turd
Legendary... How? Clapton is the worse blues player of the World as is demonstrated here.
You don't like music. You like "legends"
damn i didnt notice Pino there at first, but as soon as the song started i thought: "bass is goooood"
Blues w najlepszym wydaniu 🌞
That percussionist is killing!!! Amazing skills
Ray Cooper
The one true legend, and that is Eric Clapton. Absolute class. A worthy candidate for the title of God Of Guitar.
One of my favourite Eric Clapton solos here, never gets tired.
il s est toujours amelioré avec le temps vocalement comme guitaristiquement .
My first "live" favorite ever is "I Shot the Sheriff" from a 1985 concert.......
The best guitar players. Ready to listen to them any time❤
I have to mention Ray Cooper !! His appearance makes the whole concert so much better !!!!!

Great video, and Clapton, as usual is excellent
What a guys! Legends for ever
Yes! Top! What an awasome formation!!!!
JJ again, I love it❤️
You know you're good when Knopfler is playing rythm for you.
You know you're an egotist when you won't even let Knopfler have a try at being lead.
@@larsbot2 I’ve seen Clapton play a Knopfler song with Knopfler and only play rythm…
They so good friends❤️
