It's different in Anime because ye qiu retired because thier team I don't know his name but he has white hair you can watch it in Anime he made a decision of someone taking over ye qiu's position and so he doesn't want to be a sparring partner in the team so he decided to retire and there it all began he decided to come back and make his traitor.... I don't really know what that guy position is but I think he is the vice president of the excellent Era comp. And he is the one making ye qiu go down and after that in s2 ye qiu made a team of his own and reaching the top to get his title back(battle god) I don't know bro the s3 gonna be hype I want to see them champion and see his traitor teamates reaction of him taking back his crown

6 years i think. Bcz in S1 he retired after playing for 7 years or so. And the movie ends with them winning the first Glory championship
