  • This video is about STIHL FH-KM 145 Degree Power Scythe for the 131 R kombi system. I show and overall view of the attachment. I Demonstrate on trimming grass bushes and small trees in a fence line. This cutter is 10” long and weight 4.7 pounds in addition to the power head. It cuts anything you can fit in the blade totally worth the buy.
    Be sure to check out my other Stihl equipment videos and make sure to subscribe to the channel thanks for watching!

    Greetings from UK 🇬🇧 liked the demonstration seen this tool and have a combi engine I'm tempted after watching this. Think I would have one in US with all your rattlers and things in the grass 😃👍🇺🇸

    Enjoyed and liked your video. One suggestion, it would have been good to show before shots on the areas you cut, especially the hedges trimmed. That would give a better showing of how well it performed.

    I got the kombi with a lot of the attachments. I was thinking of getting this for cutting briars growing thick between overgrown fences. After looking at it i think I'm just gonna run my generator and hedge trimmer vs spending $230

    We have about 6 miles of 7-wire high tensile fence on a farm we just bought and are trying to figure out the best way clean out the overgrowth, especially along the ground. The lowest wire is probably about 6” off the ground, maybe even a little less. My husband has a Stihl Brushcutter, with a harness system, but it’s very heavy. I’m wondering if this tool would be light enough for a woman to use for a few hours at a time, yet built professionally enough to take on relatively large projects like our fencing? Is a harness system available for it? Thank you in advance?

      For cleaning fence row the brush cutter that you have is the better tool for that. The kombie system with the power scythe is still pretty heavy. I find the scythe best for briars an thick weeds. You can get smaller kombie motors that are lighter. You should be able to use the same harness you have on the kombie unit as well. If not they do make one

      Don't waste your money...just got one...won't cut through tall grass with any kind of speed...my weedeater does a better job.

    How did you find this for knocking down tall grass rather than using a line trimmer and/or brush blade on the line trimmer? I have large areas of boggy ground covered in grass that I knock down every 3 to 4 months. With a line trimmer it’s slow going and brush blade doesn’t do a very tidy job, so I’m thinking this maybe be faster and quicker.

      It works ok but swinging it through tall grass will really wear you out.

      I do the same thing. It will cut tall grass well if you keep it sharp, ie, sharpen it about every few hours using a Dermel tool with a conical bit. It does not mulch so the technique is different and it is a workout. I often cut one swing at half height and one closer to the ground. Also, it is the best tool I have found for Bamboo/Kudzu and poison ivy or other vines since t does not sling juice all over the place. I have used it with the 130 powerhead for 7+ years and never, ever been disappointed, as long as I kept it sharp.

      @jarrod1687 it would be cool but I wouldn’t have enough use for one to justify the 1600$

      Same, I still want one though, I don't even have enough use for my fs240 as it is

    is the spacing between the teeth the same as the hedge trimmer attachment?

    • @4MRanch
      @4MRanch  2 роки тому

      I don’t think so. One may be bigger than the other but I’m not sure I don’t have the hedge trimmer
