The easier way to go backwards is to rotate the bottom part (gearbox and such) 180. Then you don’t have to have the handle upside down. I just got the wheels and love them with the power sweep. It is so much easier and quicker. I have the angle wheels on order and I think that will also be a good speed up.

Thanks Tim and others! I bought a power sweep today and after 5 minutes of use I was out of breath. I'm 64 years old with heart issues and didn't know what to do. My wife suggested returning it, but I knew that wasn't an option after having used it. Loosened the two bolts on the coupler and rotated 180, went back out and ran it for over an hour pulling this time instead of pushing. I use the kombi 2 stroke 94r and set the throttle to a bit less than half. Works great. Thanks to all who mention the 180 truck

Tim I bought the power sweeper and the wheel kit for my EGO. Love it, does an awesome job. I hope people realize that the power sweeper heads alone are really HEAVY and the wheel kit is strongly recommended. Price wise they are not cheap. But my back and body at my age “61” are not what they use to be. Thanks again for showing another great product.

  • @markstrickler2386

I had to do this to mine. All you have to do is loosen the screw/bolts at the sweeper that holds the shaft and just turn the shaft 180 degrees. I have a gas one and running that upside down is not an option for me. My cap leaks fuel upside down and the safety trigger and throttle is to awkward. As always guys great video.

I’m waiting for my wheels to arrive today. Perry is now out of stock until 4-12-21.
I snowblow, and have gravel, so rocks and sand get much further onto the lawn, and the reverse rotation will clog long before I make it back to the driveway.
After watching this I’m glad I also have a tractor broom on the way. The wheels will still be very handy for edging, and small jobs.

Being an older female though I still cut, split and pile wood for my woodstove, the idea of making things easier is starting to seem more logical LOL!! Have the same issue when spring comes, crusher run from the town roads when the plows throws on to my yard and the legacy tractor with snowblower, throws the snowbanks at the end and in my driveway on the yard as well. So of course for me, there will always be stones. Raking in the spring, I would cringe so thank you! This is a great video! Shows me my options, though I'm still torn between brush and broom(paddle) but will definite purchase the wheels attachment as well!! Kudos to Katie!! FYI, love HAHA comment at the end LOL!!

Great demo. I know that there is a lot of lawn mowers on UA-cam that has demoed the battery power trimmers and saws. Most of us (old) home owners already are vested in gas powered tools. I knew several people that had over 100 feet of extension cords that was used to mow and trim their small yard. Dealing with those cords, shock factor, and the added expense was something that I never quite understood. The newer line of battery powered lawn tools is now so much better and is cost effective. Cost is some what higher, but the time saving makes it well worth the added cost. Time is money.......

I try to push the snow to one side so I only have one side to cleanup on the spring. It took me 6 hours to finish mine. I did both sides over 4 different days. Good luck with the rest. Tim, when using the power sweep pulling backward leave the power unit normal and down by the paddle unit you will find it is fastened to the shaft by two torq screws, loosen the screws and just rotate the gearbox 180 you don't even need to take it off of the shaft. I did get the wheel kit, in the instructions it tells about cutting a spacer that is between the gearbox and the shield to 2" my guess if you would cut a little more that will give you even more adjustment on the wheels or it did for me. When you talked about it in the earlier video it looked like a great idea I happen to love what a great idea and glad that you talked about it keep up the great work love your channel.

Tim, you may be able to rotate the head on the Power Sweep so that the electric motor is in the normal position. I do like the Power Sweep as a de-thatcher though. A Power Sweep with a vacuum attachment would be an ideal setup.
I find that when I till the garden, that it's easier to pull the tiller than it is to push.
The power sweep and power brushes all work better on a tractor, front end loader or skid steer than they do hand propelled. Much easier on the back.
Thanks for showing tool attachments that are out there, just not normally seen unless you know you have a need one but didn't know that a commercial product existed.

Hey Tim, I have a feeling you'll eventually upgrade to a JD Front Broom for the 1025r. I have a power broom with the rubber paddles from from Echo and works great but its a tremendous strain on the body especially doing side road ditches with 3 to 4ft incline. Fortunately I could flip mine over and pull it at times but trade off is you get rocks flung at you. after 2 spring seasons of that for 320ft of ditch to maintain plus outlying driveway areas, I put a 52" broom on my 455. With power angle its way nicer on the seat watching rocks leave your grass. Additionally you can de-thatch your entire lawn and customer's yards :) ROI is much faster with that option and save your back and joints.

    • @Harry-zz2oh
      @Harry-zz2oh 3 роки тому

Saving your back and joints is almost always worth it! One reason the power stuff was invented. My one grandad was a farmer for most of his working life but he retired the year I was born and his joints were pretty bad with arthritis and bursitis. My dad's father farmed his entire life and only quit when he was 90 since it was getting harder to run the old tractor's and harvest equipment.

You are directly behind the tool & closer to the action with the yard boss and not off to one side as you are with the Kombi system. You should get the AP Battery Backpack , one AP Battery Bag with cord, and an extra AP Battery Bag (optional).

Do you prefer to use the battery backpack vs gas powered?

might be something to use the power broom to feed the tractor bucket.

It is easy. Disconnect shaft from tool head and rotate 180 deg.

For your height you need longer arms on the attachment or bigger wheels so you could hold it at a comfortable height.

Roy is correct. Tim, You need to use some heavy weights so your arms will stretch more. Keeping your back as straight as you can will aid in keeping your spine aligned which reduces back injuries. If you need to work it this way, get a back support to aid you in keeping your back aligned. ( I damaged my back 50 years ago and have had issues with it ever since. Now my spinal cord has issues and part of the nerve bundle is damaged).

You can drill one hole in the attachment tube to locate the motor end wherever you want. Get a darwin's grip for tall people, best bet for people 5'10" and above

The easiest way to flip the broom or sweeper over is to pull the plastic alignment plug out of the shaft and just flip it.

I contacted Perry after your previous video. Still not sure if I want the wheels.
I only use the bristles for hard surfaces.

The broom looks like a better job but more effort to use. The wheel kit is a winner. Looks like Kristy doesn't have to bend over as much to get rake to work properly

Do those attachments only go into the power head one way? My echo PAS can go in multiple angles I guess you could say. I have some Stihl equipment but not the one that has multiple attachments so Im not sure. I know my echo PAS can have the attachments go in at different angles to the power head. Well 90 degree angles anyway....

Power Sweep with wheels look like it's better. Maybe larger diameter wheels would allow you to stand upright and not lean over. I am 6 ft 5 in and that leaning would hurt my lower back.

Duke 8:28 - "leave the silly rocks in the yard, and don't be so picky, brother"
That's the way I understand it, taken from the little, not so good book. As a guy that has congestive heart failure, those brushes are great for clearing snow in the winter, but I can deal with the rocks in my weeds. God Bless.

All of this just makes me realize that sometimes it’s just worth paying for concrete. 😂
They have a big huge brush that you can mount to the front of a YouTV come up for the Polaris ranger anyway I’m sure you could get it for just about anything but it’s kind of like that bristle brush was but it’s a few feet wide, I think they call it a driveway brush. Having one mounted at an angle so you could just drive slowly along the side of the driveway and kick everything to one side would be pretty cool

Is that faster than a rake? I often smile at the landscapers blowing grass clippings off drives , when it seems faster with a broom. I like the exercise as well...and the quiet of the rake and broom...

There should be two torx screws at the top of the gearbox where it meets the shaft under that black plastic guard. Loosen both screws pull the gear box down about 1/4-1/2 inch and rotate the gear box 180 degrees push it back up until t bottoms out and re tighten the screws. This should reverse the direction of the sweeper
