We have the largest gas powered Kombi power unit they make and love it! Big fan of the torque that electric provides and always felt this would enhance the Kombi system, have been looking at an electric chain saw and was on the fence if needing to change out the power unit but after watching this we are sold. Love that the attachments work on either gas or battery powered units. The pole saw is a beast for its size, takes a beating and keeps on going! We have several hundred feet of property that the county plows love to cover with gravel all winter while plowing snow, the paddle wheel does an amazing job cleaning the rocks up each spring. Does a great job also cleaning up along the lake shore after storms deposit a bunch of rock, sand and shells. We also use the brush cutter and grass trimmer attachments regularly. Thank you for the great content!
I emptied hoarder homes and prepared overgrown trashed properties for 15 years, and became quite the brush and overgrowth clearing "expert" The best device I ever used was my own device I called the gas powered machete: It was a Redmax 32cc handheld weed trimmer with an edger head on it. I attached a table saw blade with carbide teeth with a homemade mount, thing was literally ridiculously awesome as well as potentially dangerous. I ran that thing hours a day for years and it never let me down or injured anyone. It was the absolute best for edging overgrown sidewalks, cutting brush, tree branches, bushes, viny entanglements, and you could whittle away stumps all the way underground in a hurry.
Also used it for chipping ice (it just makes little lines on bare concrete, it doesn't react with it because the blades spinning so fast it skips the surface) it also worked for debarking logs, cutting up mattresses and couches when they got stuck in hoarder houses, cutting carpet 😆, cutting drywall, cutting tree roots, and many other uses.

Have been using electric Stihl Chainsaw with AP 300 battery for over a year now. Great machine with very good battery life. This saw will fell trees up to 16 inch or greater diameter . I use the saw daily in commercial capacity.
The reciprocating saw head would be great around wooden fence posts rather than using a stringed weed whip. As you know Stan, I love new products but hate paying the high price of R&D. Great video and thanks for posting this for us.
They will tear any fence up I have a redmax split with a recip, blade head, trimmer head, broom head (with both brush options and tiller tines) and an edger The recip if you touch the fence will draw a line on the post or if it’s vinyl just cut threw it from the action of the blades moving it’s essentially just a circular hedge trimmer I would recommend them more for gravel driveways trimming down under pine trees when you don’t know what’s in the needles or if you just don’t want to throw grass/anything else I have a lot of rock gardens I cut with mine and they also edge really well if you don’t mind sharpening the knives a lot but you can edge sections or permanent bed edging like a driveway without damaging the plastic aluminum stone or whatever else it’s made of
That is a good point, don't need to sneak up on the fence. Also with chain links. I would like to see a brush blade like this instead of those 3 bladed ones.
I can see where that recripocating head is the bee's knees but also sometimes it won't be the best choice. It will leave a mark but won't tear stuff up so caution is still needed.

1:36 FSA means Fixedhead Stand Alone (1 piece unit real marketing genius to confuse the customer), KMA means Kombi Multihead Attachment unit system so you can just buy an attachment for it. (MEI) Minnestoa Equipment-Rogers~Sales Rep. Eric what i don't like about any of these machines is they are specifically designed for the optimum comfort of people who are 5'4" or shorter. at 6'4" all these pole trimmer machines are extremely hard on the back, hard on the arms and automatically put the machine at an angle 45º into the dirt, are extremely difficult to reach under pines and cause you to be bent over all the time and not have a nice easy swing parallel to the ground. i specifically bought the kombi system with an extension and then the trimmer head attachment that is only 12" so now i have a nice 8' boom that puts me parallel to the ground and not having to bend over at all, gives me a nice smooth swing and takes alot of the machines weight off my arms having to hold it up like i'm a baseball batter at home plate and walk all over 25-50 acres like that all day. that circular blade is great for rough cutting especially for pencil like scrub brush and also for thistles and other prickly weeds. do not use any of the brush cutters on slopes over 30 degrees as falling and having feet and legs slide into the blades before they stop a few seconds after your butt is resting on the ground is an excellent way to cut flesh Achilles tendons and muscles in the legs and feet. do not so anything but flat ground while wet or dew or iced/snow. i have slide 30 feet down a slight decline and right on to the ponds boulder wall while using to trim down out of control bushes that were let go for 10-15 years while on dry grass in the middle of summer in late afternoon on a 15º decline. make sure you have near new to very good tread on your boots.

Love your videos Stan! My only two small issues I have is, you need a special tool to take the heads off I think it would he more ideal to be able to use a flat head, also the charger takes 45 minutes to charge a battery but you only get 25 minutes of full blast run time, using it as a professional it would be ideal to have two batteries and be able to just keep switching them out on charger.
This is for all the people that are starting a Business I bought two steals about two years ago one edger and one Weedwhacker my biggest mistake was that I did not get a Comby on my edger or Weedwhacker instead I just got two single units now I have to go buy a third unit in order to get a hedge trimmer, flower bed redefine, pull saw, Broom…
@@Dirtmonkey I love them they always run perfectly super easy the maintain and the dealer service is really good… there is not anything to Complain about them, they are a little bit expensive but definitely worth the money
I think the fixed head unit with the death star and a reciprocating head would be the ticket for me. Got an FS56 and the white blades are pretty sweet. I do hate their string head what a piece of you know what that one is OK in fairness if you wind it right you can make it work by slamming it into the ground, most of the time. Still those plastic blades rock and roll with little wear the one piece one looks even nicer.
Hey Stan, you had a quick clip of the bristle brush in the middle, like a teaser, but after discussing and attaching it you didn't include any video. Forgot that clip, perhaps? Or footage not worth including?
Totally off topic but could you do a video on things like what you think is the best cold weather thermals/ gear, hot weather clothing/ gear, safety gear/ accessories, replacement boot inserts..... (or if you already did can you provide a link to that video)
You need to watch out using the reciprocators near gravel. If they are anything like red max, their replacement blades are super expensive, and break easily
That golf course groomer i almost bought 2 different times. We do a lot of trim work near gravel but I still think a dialed line trimmer is more efficient. HOWEVER for a less experienced user that groomer would equal less insurance claims
When they make it so you can install chargers in the trucks or the trailers then I would consider it. Needs to be able to charge multiple of the batteries
@@Dirtmonkey I’d love to not have to buy all the stuff for mixed gas, honestly would like to go all electric in the blowers and weeders, would save a lot of money. I’m sure most would agree with me on that.
When wil Stihl make a zero turn mower like EGo? I have a couple of the AP300 tools the string trimer and the blower. They are bit pricy but it is a good product.
I live in CA and have 14 Stihl Kombi attachments and 1 power head (Gas), the law is that you're allowed to keep your existing gas equipment, but you won't be able to buy new gas equipment, many guys I've seen talk about it on YT are hoping this law gets repealed and this law may be pushed back until feasible.
Stan they won’t tell you echo and stihl are interchangeable hence stecho it’s called still in Fla 87 here today fresh shrimp tacos and some adult beverages as I said other day done with the cold this year
2 days ago I was wading through snow waste deep. The ASV guys brought their monsterous ASV RT -135 up to my cabin and I got it buried on the side of a hill forestry mulching. Hit a frozen log and she slid right down on me. That was not fun. Can't wait until we get through the frost here and back to summer work ourselves. Enjoy the shrimp tacos- they sound awesome.
The round hedge trimmer was really cool. That could be a real game changer for pros concerned with debris being thrown. Maybe silly question but does the price include battery and charger? Also did you get a price difference between the straight shaft and the combi? Thanks Stanley, you ARE the best, God bless.
that reciprocator blade for in between houses where dogs are tied out etc..lol.. no throwing, making dogs scared..lol...they need to send it to their Ocho Rios dealer for me as a present
I’d really like one of those, I have a really old petrol version and it’s getting to the point where I don’t know if it will start on the day or not. Going to need a lot of batteries though, and how do you carry on charging them from a vehicle all day?
I find the batteries are very expensive and don't last long (20mins) for their very heavy weight and stuck with petrol. Hopefully they reduce in price over time as competition grows.
That triple blade is nice, use the two blade whit a gas one, but it surprise me this electric one. wonder how a gas one whit the triple blade will do compared to the electric one whit triple blade.
we eat the high fuel prices like most small companies until we can justify adding the surcharge. But their is always a lag time becuase of consumer expectations.
Hi Stan, sorry to message here. You done a quick video clip on a FLEX battery light with stand. But I just can't find it to re-watch it. It's something I'd like to buy but just can't find them. Any chance you could drop a link please. Thanks in advance. 👍
The string head that he shows at the 315 Mark I hate I have probably owned 10 different models of Stihl trimmers in my life and I believe I have six different Stihl pieces of equipment right now from the different lines. Still those plastic blades rock and roll with little wear the one piece one looks even nicer.
agreed- That death star was pretty wicked.
Hey Stan, you had a quick clip of the bristle brush in the middle, like a teaser, but after discussing and attaching it you didn't include any video. Forgot that clip, perhaps? Or footage not worth including?
The video just got to long to include it all in their. sorry
@@Dirtmonkey gotcha, no worries!
Totally off topic but could you do a video on things like what you think is the best cold weather thermals/ gear, hot weather clothing/ gear, safety gear/ accessories, replacement boot inserts..... (or if you already did can you provide a link to that video)
Yes I can
You need to watch out using the reciprocators near gravel. If they are anything like red max, their replacement blades are super expensive, and break easily
good to know. Thank you
That golf course groomer i almost bought 2 different times. We do a lot of trim work near gravel but I still think a dialed line trimmer is more efficient. HOWEVER for a less experienced user that groomer would equal less insurance claims
good point- that groomer is a safe and easy alternative for less experienced people.
When they make it so you can install chargers in the trucks or the trailers then I would consider it. Needs to be able to charge multiple of the batteries
agreed- that would be ideal.
@@Dirtmonkey I’d love to not have to buy all the stuff for mixed gas, honestly would like to go all electric in the blowers and weeders, would save a lot of money. I’m sure most would agree with me on that.
do the attachments for the gas kombi (131) fit for the kombi 135 as well?
Stan try new AP 500S KMA 135 is a dream come true. We love it
Thanks for the heads up on that one.
I often trim brush ass deep in snow! Lol
When wil Stihl make a zero turn mower like EGo? I have a couple of the AP300 tools the string trimer and the blower. They are bit pricy but it is a good product.
love my Kombi system, gas right now but electric is not out of the question
Electric seems to be changing the game more & more 👊
here to help
👊
Thanks Stanley, you ARE the best, God bless.
love how they have all that safety crap on…..are they really that loud you need ear muffs?
Thats a big corporation- they make sure safety is key and always present. Which is good to help drive that point home.
@@Dirtmonkey i totally get it….but who really wears that stuff when weed whacking?
Idk bout that scissor circle cutter maybe like an roller underneath to keep the hight and not dig into the dirt 🤔...idk if that make sense
Since it is just scissoring maybe won't dig into the dirt much vs. a spinning wheel that wants to catch.
You can take it right into the dirt without it doing to much damage.
@@Dirtmonkey I wasn't worried about the tool I was worried about the grass and creating divots
25-45 mins is crazy. You know it will be closer to 25 mins
do they have a 12 volt car adapter charger for the batteries??
that reciprocator blade for in between houses where dogs are tied out etc..lol.. no throwing, making dogs scared..lol...they need to send it to their Ocho Rios dealer for me as a present
That is a pretty slick attachemnt
Ladies and gentlemen would you agree with me when I say Stanley needs hand puppets😄😄😄
😂👊👍
25 min run time should be sold as a homeowner model
agreed- thats a bit skimpy for commercial work
now just add a O2 concentrator and I can do yard work again.
Ahh new bump heads I see
Nice
👊👍
I’d really like one of those, I have a really old petrol version and it’s getting to the point where I don’t know if it will start on the day or not. Going to need a lot of batteries though, and how do you carry on charging them from a vehicle all day?
@horse1066 Power inverter? Gonna need at least 2 batteries minimum tho.
@@johnme7049 yep, that’s what I mean, you’d need a second battery, inverter and an additional charging circuit for that battery
I find the batteries are very expensive and don't last long (20mins) for their very heavy weight and stuck with petrol. Hopefully they reduce in price over time as competition grows.
👍
👊
That triple blade is nice, use the two blade whit a gas one, but it surprise me this electric one. wonder how a gas one whit the triple blade will do compared to the electric one whit triple blade.
Good question- I don't know the answer to.
And imagine. Less the 10 years ago saw blades were a thing.
They just made em better now😃👊
Stihl got a 500s battery out very soon
Id like to see that when it comes out
Have had my kma135 for a couple years now its awesome but need bigger batteries
I wonder if a battery upgrade is on the horizon and if so- I hope it still works in the old stihl equipment.
@@Dirtmonkey there is a 500s AP battery coming out soon and a newer version of the back pack battery I believe
Hey Stan, I am a commercial truck driver on a dedicated account, On your contract do you get a fuel surcharge? Or do you eat the high fuel prices
we eat the high fuel prices like most small companies until we can justify adding the surcharge.

@@Dirtmonkey thank you.
The string head that he shows at the 315 Mark I hate I have probably owned 10 different models of Stihl trimmers in my life and I believe I have six different Stihl pieces of equipment right now from the different lines. Maybe more. But I have ordered an older head for my string Trimmer Through my local dealer Kaser equipment in Knoxville Illinois because that one that he showed at the 315 mark burns through string. I also will fight battery operated equipment till the last second that I can find mixed oil and new old equipment.
Are you satisfied with your other Stihl equipment?
That, equipment does not cut it .get the punt. Lol. I’ll,stick, with my forestry grinder. Cheers
A forestry grinder and this stuff is in different leagues.
To bad he didn’t bring the new MSA 300 chainsaw with the AP500 battery
I won't turn him away if he wants to bring that by haha
Watch out for theee meeeskeeeteouus in minneesoohtaah. Haaa
Dry old cat tails. Try some thick green stuff
I agree- but I cut what I had available. We wont get green stuff for another month or so.
