I played this deck against him in an all mono-white pod at Commandfest Richmond and it was very strong. Playing all mono-white decks was a cool experience but certainly not something I want to do all the time.
I play my games this way. It is great to have people lose to stax. It is proactive most of the time. It is one of the few ways to play creatures decks that is not combo creature decks.
I will always continue to preach more lands in cEDH decks. If you play a ramp spell and then miss your next land drop, you essentially spent mana to do what everyone else is doing for free.
Haha, I was just looking at Charles's Moxfield decklists the other day. I saw his Yoshi Keleth deck and thought "Oh, I guess not every deck he makes is meant for cEDH." How wrong I was.
i’d love to see more Godo matches. someone in our pod recently switched to Godo and the table is finding it challenging dealing with his turn 2 and 3 wins
You all rock. I appreciate cedh because of you all and am working on my own deck. I ordered the pwp sleeves for it and am excited to sleeve it up with them
Good boy yoshi! I wonder if any of the legendary backgrounds will make it into Yoshi decks for cedh. Played against a Yoshi / Thrasios that played tons of the backgrounds and it was really a lot to handle, at least at a noncedh table
its generally strong, but might in many metas be switched out in favour of instant speed removal. and tbh, the card would be good even if someone gets 1-3 lands from it.
I like Yoshimaru as a card. Want to build a casual commander deck with him at the helm, but I'm not sure if I want to make it a legendary tribal or not.
A friend of mine plays him in our playgroup, paired with black cat familiar from that cycle of commander familiars. That deck is fun, legend tribal, runs cool cards like dungeon-venturing dragon dude and that "reanimate all legendaries" wb card, I think legend tribal is a cool concept, where else can you buff your good boy with a land drop? :)
Go Charles. I had pretty much the same idea with my deck. Same commanders and everything. But I went all in on legendaries. Though the one I built went more hammer time. 🤣
@@gammarisktrader1681 This. I like his creative builds, but whenever they feature him on the channel over the past couple years, they pull their punches. They are running second rate decks and also very often completely ignore him and let him do whatever he wants all game, never interacting or removing at all so he just steps in and wins without having really done anything. Not really the case in this game, but I've seen tons of that on thus channel over the years.
I don't think you know what a London mulligan is. The way you use it had me question if I knew what it was, 103.4 is pretty clear, your usage is a little confusing. Still you offer some of the best content of this type. No bs, no dumb effects taking away from the play, no attempt to turn it into a reality show.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG then you represent the cards in hand in an obtuse way. Only graying out one or so. If you want to take the extremely defensive position that's fine, it just implies you don't know or won't admit the ignorance.
When Ashani dies to mana crypt it's supposed to move to the next person's turn immediately so Ryan would have had to respond to crypt trigger to flash mindcensor in. Just saying
Okay, I gotta ask. What happened to MVC? No mention of it going away anywhere, that I know of. Sure, some games it was more obvious than others, at least to me, But other times, it was handy to have that insight from an actual cEDH player.
@@evanczthehunter57 No one was watching them. Our analytics showed that basically after the "KO" everyone leaves and goes to another video. We want to provide high value, and the analytics showed that MVCs weren't providing enough value for people to stay. In essence, our audience told us "we don't care about MVC" by leaving. @@PlayingWithPowerMTG Didnt a similar thing happen a while back and enough people brought it up after a certain amount of time that it ended coming back anyway? Of course, I dont know your analytic stats, so I dont know if that's changed since then, but that's unfortunate. Was nice to get some insight. Great content, regardless!
When the other 3 players in this game have multiple turns where they do nothing and miss land drops, it's easy for Charles to win this game. He continually has little to no interaction pointed his way and if it is, it is commonly bounce spells. I don't think I've seen a game where he is perceived as a threat. Turn 1 his commander should have been countered with mental misstep. That's a borderline kingmaking play to no use it there and then immediately use it on a remora that you can refuse to feed.
I disagree with your mental misstep statement, in hindsight of the game missteping the dog would have saved 3 damage as Charles would probably have replayed it turn 4, while the fish would have stop Ryan from doing anything till the fish died, with 2 blue players before him, choosing to play safe in case of a fish wasn't a bad play with his hand.
This deck does not have that much in common with his mono white enchantments matter deck. Obviously both decks play the best stax effects, but that’s about it
Regardless of the color combination you see there will always be strong staples in the deck that's how the format goes lol. White strong staples are value and stax pieces so you see them a lot, and Charles is known as the mono-w guy. I personally love all videos he's in

love seeing charles run the table with his mono white nonsense piles - never thought i'd see Abzan Falconer and Commander's Insignia in a cedh game!
He is very skilled! I love his way of playing!
Azban Falconer isn’t a format defining staple but does a ton of work in the right deck
I played this deck against him in an all mono-white pod at Commandfest Richmond and it was very strong. Playing all mono-white decks was a cool experience but certainly not something I want to do all the time.
One of them broke the rules, you're not allowed to kill the goodest boy.
I swear everytime Charles plates mono white, his draws and plays are so good, I'd swear he's cheating... The true Mono White Master!
When you cut rocks, you only draw hate and haymakers. Big-brained shit.
MVC Stony Silence
Good boi takes their time but good ol' Yoshi loves his walks.
I like Chad's proxies!

The Tropical Islands lol
Charles is such a good CEDH player, builds great, off meta decks and performs exceptionally
I always adore seeing Charles on the channel. His mono-white brews are on another level.

That stony silence was absolutely brutal.
I love Charles decks. Especially his apparent love of mono white decks
Always happy to see another mono-w deck from Charles.
Charles expertly hit all his land drops while his opponents missed 1-2 lands each in the first 3 turns
Charles usually runs more lands in his decks than most cEDH decks.

I wanna see that 8 and a half tails again. I will never forget ugin exiling lands with that deck every turn. Makes me wanna make it
