@@simonjames1604 I see what you're saying. I was thinking more about the range and diversity of instruments that George was able to play, including more complicated Indian instruments.

I was at an open mic the other night and struck up a conversation with someone about The Beatles and we talked for an hour and a half and it was so fun! I've been obsessed for almost 30 years ha! They don't get old
Fun fact- your videos are what i put on while writing my university essays (even the zelda one lol) Also- excited for the eventual george harrison discography deep dive :)
For the biopic question, I would love to see a movie that follows the creation of the Beatles Anthology and the emotional journey that must’ve been for Paul, George, and Ringo. A Jackie-style biopic about Yoko Ono after John’s death would also be super cool and a great opportunity to show what a vibrant, interesting person she always has been.
I was introduced to the Beatles by my dad too. He had “1,” “Revolver” and “Beatles for Sale” on CD, and anytime we drove somewhere together we’d listen to one of them. I still know most of the track numbers on “1” by heart. I’m seeing McCartney with him this summer - can’t wait :)
PLEASE do a Bob Dylan video sometime. Also, Are you a fan of King Gizzard atLW? Sorry not a patron but would love to be once I’m not broke. Great video as always
Love the videos man! One of my questions would have been what your opinion on The Beach Boys is as a whole, more specifically their work post pet sounds like smile, sunflower or Holland. I believe that this era is underrated and has some great gems, I’d love to hear what you have to say!
I was never "introduced" to the beatles because their music is, y'know, everywhere all the time, but I do have a lot of fond memories of playing beatles rock band at my cousins' house as a kid. I remember my favorite songs being hello goodbye, eight days a week, lucy in the sky with diamonds, and ticket to ride. I also remember being shocked upon finding out that here comes the sun was from the same era as come together and not in my life, because all my little ears heard was how "pretty" it did or didn't sound lol
Could you maybe do a video about the chronology of the Beatles and why they're awesome for like newbies? I love the Beatles but I never bothered to read up on what that whole Allan Klein thing was about and why they went to court and all that, but I would love to know. Not just the negative stuff of course, but yeah, that would be cool. Can't wait for your George video (and I know it gets annoying, but really hoping for a big ole Bowie video :) Would also love to know your take on The Rolling Stones. It's a really old hat, Beatles or Stones, but I tried and I just can't get into the Stones except for some cool hits. Anyway, great stuff you're doing, cheers!
THIS IS SO AMAZING MAN! I remember when you were just staring off, its so amazing to see how far you have come! I love your videos, its always an event when a new one comes out, just a big BIG CONGRATS!
I sat down to write an entire video essay about Revolver the other day and decided it would be way too difficult. I respect the hell out of what you do here on your channel.
All Too Much is my absolute favorite Beatle's song, and for being a Beatles song it really is one that can actually be considered underrated. Even the Beatles mostly forgot about it, relegated to the Yellow Submarine album when it could have been on Pepper's because they didn't see it as special. All Too Much just sounds like a psychedelic love song to the universe (and Patti Boyd), just pure joy in it.
I've only just been getting into The Beatles recently, at 26 years old, and your videos have been a great kind of guide to grow this interest with. Peace and love!
I'm ten years younger than Elliott's dad. That age and wider family circumstances meant I missed the Beatles - quite liked them but was too cool for school about them. Only woke up to them thanks to 12-year old daughter's response to Sgt Pepper in 1999. Still don't have all their records, not heard all their output, but now realise how massively significant they were, and remain. Mark Lewisohn's approach gives social history of a critical period of time in UK and world before I became aware of it. If you want one artist plus associated cover collections as backing for a 3-hour intensive cardio recovery exercise programme - Beatles and solo Beatles set to random playback win every time due to variety, change of pace and mood - fascinating to see heart rate, watts, pedal rate, step count, pushups speed with different tracks
Anybody who says the Beatles are overrated are fools. You may not like their music and that’s fair. We all can’t like the same stuff. However the Beatles change the way rock ‘n’ roll had been produced, it changed songwriting, it changed concerts, promotion, record royalties, instruments, uses oh stereo…So if somebody says the Beatles are overrated, they look very foolish and musically illiterate
George Harrison is most certainly the Beatle you most resemble. Although I love all four Beatles, I did lean most heavily into the Lennon camp when growing up, but it is an excellent sign of maturity and a healthy mindset when you dispense with the preoccupation with meaningless rubbish like being seen as cool and edgy, and realise that it is far better to be like Paul McCartney with his more balanced outlook and approach to life, than to live with the inner torment that it took for John Lennon to be John Lennon. Lennon may have written the more emotionally cutting songs, particularly as a Beatle, but Paul McCartney has said himself that he would not trade his happier upbringing and mental stability for Lennon's edge, and, actually, the Lennon lyrics I live by the most are: Well my instincts are fine I had to learn to use them in order to survive And time after time, confirmed an old suspicion It's good to be alive And when I'm deep down and out and lose communication With nothing left to say It's then I realise it's only a condition Of seeing things that way Which is in fact, Lennon at his most McCartney-it's-getting-better-all-the-time-esque.

I would love a social network video from you! The social network is my favourite film and always watch it the first week of January so it’s my first film of the year. Also really looking forward to your George video!
Here are two thoughts (feelings) to share about the Beatles, one which keeps coming to mind time after time year after year and one that hit me just today. 1- The emotional intensity and compelling beautiful grittiness of John Lennon’s singing voice is a gift to the human race (more specifically to Rock N Roll and yes, so is Paul’s but for some reason John’s voice grabs me harder). 2 - The song “If I Fell” is such an incredibly gorgeous piece of art. The melody and harmony tracking together along with the chord changes and sparse arrangement are ear/mind boggling. To think that they were in their early twenties and cranking out songs of this caliber in the pop genre but somehow not at all constrained or limited by it is just amazing. I really enjoyed your thoughtful analysis and reviews of the complete post Beatles Paul McCartney and John Lennon albums. Tuning into your videos spurred me to re listen to the albums I was familiar with and some I wasn’t.
I've been subscribed since your first video. You are the only UA-camr I can say I've been with since the beginning. Your videos are great, I'm not surprised in the slightest you've earned yourself 58K congrats!
I'm in my early seventies. Needless to say, I grew up with The Beatles. I love your channel. I find your insight, enthusiasm and overall attitude an ever evolving inspiration.
On question 4: people forget how young they were too. They accomplished all they did in The Beatles, had multiple marriages/ serious relationships, and kids before any of them turned 30! That's absolutely wild to think about. So even though they were "mature" and had these incredible careers they still had a lot of ways to go to understand themselves and working the way they did at that rate wasn't conducive to that
Hi Elliot, only recently discovered your channel. Since doing so I've binged every one of your videos and loved them all - this one no exception!! Just wanted to drop a comment saying you have gained a fan and loyal subscriber, and to keep up the great work ❤
I know it’s a pretty difficult subject to talk about freely (cause you know, copyright) but as a longtime fan now, I’d love to know your thoughts on Prince’s music and contributions to pop music (for me, it’s a tie between him and Bowie for my favorite artists). Also, I’d love to hear about your thoughts of Whiplash (one of my favorites movies :D), I think you’d be able to squeeze something good out of such a great movie (at least to me). Loved the video, came across you because of the Beatles and stayed because of your introspection, aesthetic and that marvelous hair!
When you were about to answer who is the second greatest artist, I was praying to god that you would say David Bowie, the fact that you actually did made me so happy
You always give thoughtful answers to questions. I really appreciate that. Between your rankings of Paul and John's solo output, I learned so much. Look forward to whatever's next down the line video wise. I know it takes time and I appreciate when we get something new from you. Cheers! 🍻
Having parents introduce you to the music that they love is just such a cool thing, my Mum and Dad made a CD for both me and my brother when we were born and they pretty much became the basis of our music tastes. Personally think mines better cause of the John Lennon and Van Morrison songs, although he does have some great Paul McCartney and Simon stuff in there.
To put in my two cents about question 21: I didn't like the beatles growing up because the only songs they played on radio about them were either their pre-rubber soul stuff which just sounded old to me (I was already into electronic music like techno) and their early stuff isn't their best really. It wasn't until 2008 that I started getting into them, when I was already 20 years old-- I was at an internet cafe and they started playing I Want You (She's So Heavy) and I asked the title of the song and I looked it up on my laptop and I literally went "The Beatles made THAT?!" Radio stations just don't play the best stuff around here
Eliot Roberts, I Don't know if your seeing this or if you would even answer this but I have Three Questions 1: What Is Your favorite beatles Solo Album from right After the beatles Broke Up (Plastic Ono Band, Mccartney, All Things Must Pass, And Sentimental Journey) 2: If I Wanted to indroduce a friend or A Family Member to the beatles what song/album shoud they listen to first 3: What band In Your Opinion made the best music that Can Rival The Beatles (At Least A Little)
Thank you for the video, Elliot! I relate to so many things that you're saying about the Beatles. In these terrible times my love for the Beatles gives me solace and hope. Peace and love!
Love the Weyes Blood mention, I’ve been really loving her work. In fact, I almost feel like ‘Andromeda’ could have been a George song just from those diminished chords alone. Let alone that slide guitar - I swear i had to double check that wasn’t somehow George himself!
it's so cool that you're a muse fan! Muse and the Beatles are my 2 favourite bands and i got so excited to hear you talk about muse they are so good :)
On the question of soundtracks, Trainspotting (my favourite film) is still untouchable. The opening drums of “Lust For Life”, The Synthesiser of “Born Slippy”, and the bounce of “Mile End”. A class of its own.
I almost spit out my milk when I heard you say Weyes Blood, I ADORE HERRRR!! You showed titanic rising and if by chance you haven't listened to Front Row Seat To Earth its MAGNIFICENT as well! Cheers❤️
Yes! I consider "It's All Too Much" their best song in 1967 and someday the full unedited stereo version will be officially released 🎶🎶🎶🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️👌👌👌👏👏👏
I have a Shaun of the dead story for you. When the movie was getting ready to come out in the states, I went to a previous screening at which Simon Pegg and the fat guy sidekick were present. After a really fun Q and a, everyone was exiting the theater and walking through the long hallway, when I noticed a few people (who were walking INTO the theater) looking at the poster for the upcoming movie on the wall there. So I stopped those people and said, “look! Here are the actors in the poster you are looking at. Right here!“ And so they turned and saw Simon and the fat guy and we’re like, “whoa!“
I know this does'nt make sense, but Imagine a Beatles album with Image, Mind Games, Live and Let Die, My Sweet Lord and the best from Lennon's Double Fantasy album... what an album!
I have put together a fantastic Spotify collection called 'The Black Album', roughly two hours long which is a collection of solo material but what I consider to be the best 'Beatles' songs of the 1970 to 1980 decade'that would be in a double album collection. It has the content you suggest plus others by George and even a couple of Ringo songs. Half or so of them are from 1969 to 71 reflecting my preference for that era and because THEY ALL MOSTLY LOST THEIR MOJO's during the 70's as music did generaly IMHO. Paul kept his going the longest. By 1980 I prefered Yoko's stuff. I only rate two included John songs on Double Fantasy. 'Beautiful Boy' and 'I'm losing you'. THE BLACK ALBUM; 1970-80: DISK ONE; Cold Turkey (John), Give me Love (George), Everynight (Paul), Working Class Hero (George), Monkberry Moon Delight (Paul), Don't Let me wait to long (George), How do you Sleep? (John), Maybe I'm Amazed (Paul), Crippled Inside (John), Wah Wah (George), Gimme Some Truth (John), Junk (Paul). SPOTIFY PUBLIC ACCESS under name 'crazydavidhughes' DISK TWO; I'm Losing You (John), Band on the Run (Paul), Try some, buy some (George), #9 Dream (John), Live and Let Die (Paul), Steel and Glass (John), Let Me Roll It (Paul), Beautiful Boy (John Lennon), My Sweet Lord (George), It don't Come Easy (Ringo), Imagine (John), The Light That Has Lighted The World (George), Bluebird (Paul), Jealous Guy (John), Let 'em In (Paul), Sue me Sue You Blues (George), Beaucoup of Blues (Ringo), Coming Up (Paul), The Lord Loves the One that Loves the Lord (George): TOTAL 32 Songs, 2 hours 9 minutes
I was just in Liverpool 3 weeks ago for my belated senior trip! I've been a faithful Beatles fan since I was 5 and I'm from Louisiana, it still doesn't feel real it was an amazing experience and I'm so thankful for all the memories I made and this beautifully diverse world we live in!!
My love for older music started with my Year 6 teacher, whose surname was (ironically) Beatle. I can remember the moment that my life started when he wheeled a crappy old TV to the front of the class and started playing Elvis Presley's 'Jailhouse Rock'. He always used to tell us that he was the original Beatle because he was born the year before they started using the name, and we spent 20 minutes every Friday listening to whatever tracks he had lined up for us: 'Twist and Shout', 'Good Golly Miss Molly', 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'I Saw Her Standing There', etc. That's where it all begun, and now it's come full circle again and I couldn't be happier for it.
I saw this Yesterday and after watching it I Feel Fine. I've Got a Feeling you'll reach your 100,000 target; I Imagine It Won't Be Long. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Oh, and I told my wife about this and She Loves You, too. Strawberry Fields Forever, The Walrus.
I'm actually kind of sad that the Legend of Zelda video doesn't get more love, it's one of the most wholesome creations I've seen on youtube ever, and I couldn't care less for the game itself, I guess that speaks for itself on the quality of the video
On the innovative musicians question I must say Kanye West. I think in terms of changing the game he is the artist that most come close to what the Beatles achieved in the 60’s. Kanye’s discography is extremely diverse in terms of sound, concept and approach and almost every album he dropped posted a great impact on the music industry.
I hope you’re actively writing this solo career series, although I imagine it would be a legal pain to get something like that approved by all estates and Paul and Ringo
I feel like the idea you've got with your answer for question 19 is honestly just adapting Peter Doggett's *You Never Give Me Your Money* book and adding the context of the albums/concerts they were doing to give more heft to it. My favourite part about the Beatles' history is the messy financial side of it, because those eternal lawsuit squabbles and financial problems they all had are, weirdly, very helpful in understanding them and their dynamics post-breakup (and _also_ very entertaining because I would love to see a miniseries where the whole cow business Yoko had is recreated, honestly); but I'm pretty sure we'd have to wait for everyone to be dead, because I doubt Paul and Yoko/Sean would let that fly lol (they barely let the book be published, so). Either way, a lovely Q&A! Can't wait for that George video

@@dimetronome yeah george was a better sitar player by far no question. based on the single recording i know of that macca played sitar .

I think they're great! Not a die-hard fan by any means but they've made excellent tunes!

Loved the video, came across you because of the Beatles and stayed because of your introspection, aesthetic and that marvelous hair!
What’s your favourite country you have visited?
You deserve every one of these 58k
When you were about to answer who is the second greatest artist, I was praying to god that you would say David Bowie, the fact that you actually did made me so happy
I got really happy when you said you like Tame Impala
Hope for more brian videos in the future !
You are amazing and you deserve every subscriber! Any plans of seeing Paul on his North American tour?
I’m just on why way to walk to vote in the Australian election. So thanks for the video. Perfect timing
Congratulations Elliot!
To put in my two cents about question 21:
I didn't like the beatles growing up because the only songs they played on radio about them were either their pre-rubber soul stuff which just sounded old to me (I was already into electronic music like techno) and their early stuff isn't their best really.
It wasn't until 2008 that I started getting into them, when I was already 20 years old-- I was at an internet cafe and they started playing I Want You (She's So Heavy) and I asked the title of the song and I looked it up on my laptop and I literally went "The Beatles made THAT?!"
Radio stations just don't play the best stuff around here
Eliot Roberts, I Don't know if your seeing this or if you would even answer this but I have Three Questions
1: What Is Your favorite beatles Solo Album from right After the beatles Broke Up (Plastic Ono Band, Mccartney, All Things Must Pass, And Sentimental Journey)
2: If I Wanted to indroduce a friend or A Family Member to the beatles what song/album shoud they listen to first
3: What band In Your Opinion made the best music that Can Rival The Beatles (At Least A Little)
Thank you for the video, Elliot! I relate to so many things that you're saying about the Beatles. In these terrible times my love for the Beatles gives me solace and hope. Peace and love!
Would love to see a ridiculously long video where you rank every solo beatles album along with the bands albums together.
Well well well about time for an update, congratulations!
congrats man
Love the Weyes Blood mention, I’ve been really loving her work. In fact, I almost feel like ‘Andromeda’ could have been a George song just from those diminished chords alone. Let alone that slide guitar - I swear i had to double check that wasn’t somehow George himself!
This was yet another great video! Also, It's All Too Much is ridiculously awesome (you have good taste 👍)
epidly awesome
love ur videos mr. elliot man robert
Dang thanks for releasing this vid
You are my favorite UA-camr!
it's so cool that you're a muse fan! Muse and the Beatles are my 2 favourite bands and i got so excited to hear you talk about muse they are so good :)
I am so waiting for those George Harrison videos! ❤️
On the question of soundtracks, Trainspotting (my favourite film) is still untouchable. The opening drums of “Lust For Life”, The Synthesiser of “Born Slippy”, and the bounce of “Mile End”. A class of its own.
A classic!
There's already an outstanding stereo mix of "It's All Too Much" on Yellow Submarine Songtrack.
LOST is my favorite show too.
It's all too much is my favourite George composition. It's a real band effort, a great Jam, it's sensational.
So underrated
I want that miniseries now! That would be so cool!
Love your videos. Please do a favorite Beatles documentaries video
I have a Shaun of the dead story for you.
When the movie was getting ready to come out in the states, I went to a previous screening at which Simon Pegg and the fat guy sidekick were present.
After a really fun Q and a, everyone was exiting the theater and walking through the long hallway, when I noticed a few people (who
were walking INTO the theater) looking at the poster for the upcoming movie on the wall there.
So I stopped those people and said, “look! Here are the actors in the poster you are looking at. Right here!“
And so they turned and saw Simon and the fat guy and we’re like, “whoa!“
You’re my favorite youtuber, so awesome
SPOTIFY PUBLIC ACCESS under name 'crazydavidhughes'
DISK TWO; I'm Losing You (John), Band on the Run (Paul), Try some, buy some (George), #9 Dream (John), Live and Let Die (Paul), Steel and Glass (John), Let Me Roll It (Paul), Beautiful Boy (John Lennon), My Sweet Lord (George), It don't Come Easy (Ringo), Imagine (John), The Light That Has Lighted The World (George), Bluebird (Paul), Jealous Guy (John), Let 'em In (Paul), Sue me Sue You Blues (George), Beaucoup of Blues (Ringo), Coming Up (Paul), The Lord Loves the One that Loves the Lord (George):
TOTAL 32 Songs, 2 hours 9 minutes
@@vladdrakul7851 Awesome playlist, I'm gonna check it out!
@@lundsweden great! Enjoy!
Ooh I got a question 🙋🏻♀️ what about the kinks? Do u have a favorite kinks album?
Very cool channel !
Nice Harrison Hairstyle 😌
its all too much is a top harrison song, you are the realest
Inspiring as always
I saw this Yesterday and after watching it I Feel Fine. I've Got a Feeling you'll reach your 100,000 target; I Imagine It Won't Be Long. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Oh, and I told my wife about this and She Loves You, too.
Strawberry Fields Forever,
The Walrus.
I'm actually kind of sad that the Legend of Zelda video doesn't get more love, it's one of the most wholesome creations I've seen on youtube ever, and I couldn't care less for the game itself, I guess that speaks for itself on the quality of the video
I am the same with Paul and George. When my cat had 2 kittens when I was 11 years old I named them Paul McCartney and George Harrison. 😹
I could listen to you talking about the Beatles all day long 😊
On the innovative musicians question I must say Kanye West. I think in terms of changing the game he is the artist that most come close to what the Beatles achieved in the 60’s. Kanye’s discography is extremely diverse in terms of sound, concept and approach and almost every album he dropped posted a great impact on the music industry.
obviously your favorite beatles album is everyday chemistry
Wow! I can't believe it's almost 60k! You probably don't remember me but I was your 70th subscriber! Love your content. Keep it up man!
I would Love a Ringo album ranking after George
What’s your opinion on The Who. I saw them live just last night and I was amazed how good Roger and Pete sounded.
They’re excellent but I’m no expert.
Absolutely love your channel man, keep it up, your videos are compulsively watchable and your only gonna grow from here.
Great vlog brother but it was john doing the intro for i feel fine and the famous feed back
I hope you’re actively writing this solo career series, although I imagine it would be a legal pain to get something like that approved by all estates and Paul and Ringo
The Beach Boys are a close #2 for me, "Pet Sounds" was so unprecedented, and influential, to Bowie, The Beatles, and beyond.
Same! Pet Sounds is just so beautiful.
